Great stay. Quiet and peaceful. Hotel was only a 10 minute walk to Fenway park which was my main reason for going. Hotel was close to train when I wanted to travel further in to the city. Room was cleaned every day nd staff was friendly/ helpful a few times when I asked for directions.

The a/c heating unit in my room was not functioning. On my stay, Red Sox 100th Anniversary weekend, the bar on both Thursday and Friday had no Cabernet on both nights, and ran out of Shiraz on Friday. Also morning buffet was no monitored close (eggs and bacon empty) when I went to eat. Max the waiter was great, as was the front desk staff.

The hotel was less than a 5 minute car ride to Boston University and the location of Brookline appears to be clean and safe. The hotel itself was very dark. The internal atrium needs better lighting as it was hard to see in both the day or evening. While the beds in our room were comfortable and the room was clean the bathroom was poor. The toilet was […] installed under the counter so you had to reach under the counter to flush not to mention that you could not sit up straight on the toilet but had to lean to the left as the counter hung out over the toilet itself. There was no bathtub only a shower. While this did not present a problem to our group I could imagine it would be a problem for others and would have thought we would have been given the option of another room on check in. The only complaint that we had was the beds are very small. Other than that, everything about the hotel was perfect. I would recommend it to others.

Comfortable, clean room in a lovely neighborhood. Problem was staff was rude, coffee was not refilled and no apology given. The staff seems overwhelmed and perhaps they do not have enough staff for all the guests since the hotel was very crowded. Early check-out time was at 11 am. We found this hotel just what we wanted in proximity to our daughter just up the street. Room was great and breakfast was very reasonable($). Hotel is very nice and clean. Our only complaint is the from desk couldn't push us thru any faster with no real welcome or thank you. They need some retraining.

Hotel and location were so convenient - the only down side- no room service during the day. Also huge for us - it's a non smoking hotel but toucan smoke with a penalty attached - people all around us smoked - our whole floor smelled like a lounge in the 60's. Also many large groups of kids preview the colleges- FYI

My friend and I stayed here on our recent trip to Boston. The hotel staff were not the most friendly, which I thought was not a great first impression. I was appalled to find out that we had to PAY for parking even after having booked a room for a night. That should have been mentioned somewhere. Maybe I'm just from a more rural place, but I could have […] been warned about that extra surprise. The room itself was nice, beds were comfortable, but the bathroom looked old and run down. Fairly good hotel. The first and 2nd floor rooms are weird as they only have windows to inner corridor. We were proposed such a room but when declined were given nice room higher up. The staff is helpful and nice. Good breakfast

This hotel has a large atrium area that could be nice, but it is very dark, poorly lit. The inside rooms have windows into the atrium, so it feels like you are staying in a cave. It is close to BU and some decent restaurants.

The staff was friendly but not trying too hard. The guy at the bar gave me a bottle of water when I asked if they sold them. Check out was easy. All in all - nice and easy.

The hotel is a little dated - rooms are small with typical basics - a little like a motel. The hotel had an attrium with a dinner in the centre but all looked very dated and requires a major renovation to bring it up to latest styles and decor. Hotel was great. There was an indoor pool and spa that I was pleasantly surprised to see. The only downside was that there are a lot of indoor rooms with no windows to the outside- not great if you like to see sunlight in the morning.

The hotel is very well located, close the metro station but it's very simple. The price is too high for what the hotel offers.

I arrived at the hotel room and my ceiling was leaking water. Called front desk and they sent someone to check it. They said it was because of the rain, but asked if I wanted another room. I said yes, and they moved me to a room that the floor was wet and flooded. The manager came and gave me a great room as he wanted me to enjoy my stay. This a clean, safe and decent hotel if you need to be in this area. It's a bit of a trip from Logan Airport. The rooms are spacious, but a little worn. It's a small, but irritating, consideration that the chair at the desk is way too low (and I'm tall) - so you can't work at it, especially if you are working on a laptop. If you're one of those peple […] that needs complete darkness to sleep, forget the first couple of floors. The layout is like an old motel, but enclosed. So the doors open onto communal areas which are well lit 24/7 - shining in around the curtains and under the door. Breakfast is convenient and has what you need, nothing impressive compared to what many of the other chains are offering these days - if you're a health freak, organics seeker - no chance. everything about the hotel is 'normal' and just fine EXCEPT: the bed is the MOST uncomfortable hotel bed ever! i have stayed in hundreds of hotels from ritz carltons to courtyards and this is the absolute worst. it was hard and the pillows were lumpy, unyielding and just plain awful. the lighting is ridiculous. they have those warm up energy saving […] lights which take awhile to get bright, so initially you are in a dimly lit room. when all on (5 lamps), the room is still not well lit. and the bathroom is awful. drippy shower stall, no tub, about 6 inches to step from the shower to the floor or you hit the toilet, the sink was small. just not up to any reasonable modern standard. but the location is fantastic if you need to be in brookline. it's walking distance to BU and all the surrounding apartments and 2 blocks to the center of brookline shops and restaurants. easy access to transportation into central boston. parking garage is also awful....smallest, narrowest spaces and poles all over to make parking even more difficult. A quiet small hotel close to all must- see sights and close to public transport. We have stayed twice, in February and in July and we surely come again !

the hotel was ok but expensive for its looks,,imagine it says in the amenities everything is there,only to find out there is no fridge,i called the front desk & they said,they run out of fridge so i can just put my stuff & label it & put it in the front desk fridge ,imagine the inconvenience of walking from 2nd floor to 1st floor in the middle of the […] night when your thirsty..this is sooo rediculous ,also the location is not in boston ,its out of the city,,the neighborhood looks like ghetto to me...the hotel stay was a nightmare.. Very happy about my stay at the Holiday Inn Brookline. T is right across the street - making all of Boston easily accessible. Parking in the hotel's locked, indoor lot was reasonable and convenient. My only gripe - and it's very minor - is that breakfast is not included. And I only say that because most hotels in this category throw you a free continental […] breakfast. Our experiance was delightful. We were within walking distance to Fenway, thru a nice neighborhood. Our room had a good view. Pool and hot tub were very clean. Great exercise room. Decent enough hotel. But the room could have done with an additional vacuum and once over. I would expect that in a lesser chain, but for the price and this chain it's not acceptable.

This hotel was very nice. Our room was up on the second floor and it was pretty quiet. Pool was near the room, and neighborhood around was very nice. The room was a little small and dark and did not have windows, that was the only con. Otherwise clean, comfortable, and perfect for a trip where you aren't in hotel much!

Overall, very nice, attractive and clean hotel. It was within walking distance to Fenway Park, which is why we visited Boston. Very good food through room service. Only complaint is the charge of $21.00 for parking and they would not change that.

This hotel was not a good choice for someone who likes to see outside and know what the weather is. Our room was within 6 feet of an indoor pool in a building that was essentially an industrial building. Although the decor of the hotel was a replication of what outdoors would be like and you could not look outside from any part of the building other […] than the entry. The air ventilation system in the room was non functioning with the room's temperature set at 75 degrees. The bathroom was one of the smallest I have ever been in with the exception of Turkey. You literally had 6 inches to step into the shower as the toilet was obstructing the shower entry. Bizarre! This room was not was expected considering the price! The Hotel was average at best and very pricey, more than most of the downtown hotels with better accommodation.

The hotel was older, and our room was not very nice for the price. One set of sheets was filthy when we took off the bedspread. The buffet was mediocre. Because of the sheets, I would not recommend this hotel.
