We have stayed here before and it is a very convenient location off the I95 with easy access to restaurants and stores. The quality of the service has always been excellent and this time was no exception with them allowing us an early check in as we arrived ahead of what we scheduled. It is somewhat difficult to turn left out of the hotel on to Riverside […] due to traffic. Our room was comfortable but had definitely not been sufficiently cleaned recently. There was a great deal of dust on the heating/AC unit and on other surfaces. The toilet was also somewhat "tipsy" which was rather unnerving prior to discovery :) These were never issues on our previous stays. The room however, was not musty nor did it have any foul odours. The hotel room use to be a non smoking room but it still stunk of old cigarrets. I was told that it was just renevated but you could tell they didn't go all the way to get rid of the stale smell. they said someone before me could have smoked but you would think the cleaning staff would have taken care of it if it was a room that was just renevated a […] week before we got there. We were staying in Maine for a family event - the hotel was in a perfect location, it was a nice room, and the staff was friendly and professional. The indoor pool and hot tub were a nice addition.

Great room. Great bed. Free wifi. Pool, hot tub, spa and work out area clean and open until 10PM. Close to everything I went there for. Great price. The only thing I missed was a continental breakfast and some complimentary coffee/tea.I would definitely stay there again.

Very clean; pool is warm. Restaurant for dinner has good food and service, and now the Egg and I is on the premises for breakfast. Everyone was friendly. Near enough the Old Port, beaches, and shopping to be convenient.

It is fine place to stay. Especially for the price you pay. There are plenty of named chain restaurants such as Applebee, ruby Tuesdays etc, just keep in mind most of these places close at 9pm on weekdays. If you get there late, there is nothing in the vicinity to eat.

More than adequate room, good size, not noisy, though the walls aren't that thick, and I could hear other people running around in the room next to mine. Overall, a good value.

i stayed on feb 1st with friends service was great this time not so good check in was good check out was bad lot of attitude giving because there was a problem with my room .i dont kno if i will stay there again .

The customer service here was fantastic! My travelling companion and I had an unexpected event come up and we cancelled 3 of my 4 nights staying there due to that. The night before we were due to leave, we found out that we could in fact stay in the Portland area. After my first night's stay there, I spoke with a Dianne in the morning and she was absolutely […] fabulous! She not only helped us to get all of the remaining nights there at a great rate. The room itself was great as well. However, the heating system was a bit loud and whenever we opened the outside room door, the plastic cover for the light in the ceiling would suction and create a loud noise. just a quick stop in Portland, and the HoJo there was perfect for the purpose. The location is convenient to the airport and within 15 mins of downtown. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The only real complaint is that the walls (and ceiling) didn't insulate for noise very well and my wife had trouble sleeping.

The room had a joining door and I could here every thing. One bed had a stain on top of sheet.

We had 3 rooms booked and 1 room was not clean and another had an issue with the tub not draining and was not rectified.

This would get a five, but the walls are thin and I had frisky neighbors. Otherwise it is clean, comfortable and well kept.

The location is convenient to the highway, but not intrinsically attractive. The hotel itself is simple rather than luxurious, but comfortable and clean. We appreciated having six pillows on the king-size bed.

This hotel was filthy. It is unkept, needs repairs and upgrades galore, could use paint and general repair. The staff was great, the beds clean and comfortable, but the hotel on a whote was absolutely dreadful. I won't stay there again.

Rear entry door handle was broken. It looked like it had been forced. I spend allot of nights in hotels. I felt like I was signing off on a house mortgage loan with all the forms and ID I had to show upon check in. Person at front desk was robotic almost to the point of being rude.

My husband, adult daughter and I stayed two nights while visiting family for Thanksgiving. We had a very clean room and bathroom. There was also a second sink and mirror outside the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. I usually get a sore back when I'm not in my own but it didn't happen there. Staff at the front desk and housekeepers were pleasant […] and helpful. Because we were busy with family events, we didn't use the weight room or pool but they looked well kept. The hotel is right off the turnpike exit so made it convenient to get to all the places we were going. It's only a few minutes to the Maine Mall exit for those interested in shopping. As close as it was to the turnpike, we didn't hear any traffic noise, though the first night I kept waking up every time the heat went on. I didn't notice it the second night. Located right off the highway and easy to find. It was an older hotel, and my room seemed small. There was no ice on my floor, so I had to go up or down the weird stairs to find some. There was an adunbance of postings and signage about safety. The front door had instructions on double locking for security, and a sign that tells you to go check the […] patio door to make sure all those locks are locked. This was very unsettling. And the binder of Info instructs guests to check with hotel staff on safety of neighborhood before venturing out on foot. I wouldn't stay here again based on not feeling safe, and because of the warnings, worrying about my car as well. HoJo's is convenient, welcoming with a fireplace in the lobby, clean, with big rooms. A new breakfast/lunch place is opening in the adjoining space and the adjoining restaurant is very good. Lots of stores, Dunkies, Panera, etc. Easy drive to Portland or Freeport. Pool, gym, and whirlpools very nice. All very clean. It is an older facility.

Honestly, it was better than I had anticipated. The airport shuttle was on time to get us to our early morning flight out of Portland airport. The hotel staff was nice and pleasant, gave us a great reccomendation for a seafood restaurant in downtown, we ate lots of lobster before leaving Maine! Easy access to the I 95. Close to all shopping venues. The licensed restaurant is convenient, after a long day of shopping. Beds were comfortable - slept well. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

"High speed internet" it was slow to the point of not even existing. Room was outdated, smelled bad and was not even very clean. It did have a decent TV small but still newer. Went to the fireside inn and it was not any better. If you have to stay here for business just stay elsewhere and drive in.

Very easy to find, right off the highway. Clean room. Pleasant staff. The only drawback is that only sheets on the bed but no blankets. I found it cold, but there were no blankets in the room anywhere. However, I stayed in other hotels on this trip and found the same thing, so not exclusive to this place. All in all a pleasant stay. No fan in bathroom. Very thin walls. Voices carry through the rooms easily. Restaurant staff was grumpy. Hotel was in central location however the layout of the parking lot is a bit of a safety hazard.

The hotel afforded us a base for day trips to everything we wanted to see in that region of Maine. I would highly recommend it if you want to visit Portland. A clean room and good service was exactly what we wanted.
