Marriott employee had a little trouble finding our reservation and cross referencing with hotel.com; especially the second half of the reservation. Caused me a little anxiety in the process. The hotel was great although it could have been a little cleaner.

everything was perfect, stayed there 5 days on a vacation with wife..I did feel the revolving resteraunt on top was over rated. the service was great but the view is blocked by too many taller buildings close by. Also most revolving resturants are in a round dome. this one makes a circle in side a square building so part of the time you are looking […] at the inside structure. too pricey for the experance! Location, location, location. Location can't be beat and the hotel is nice. However, I'd recommend only for a very special occasion or for those with a large budget as it is very expensive.

"Great place to stay!!!"
The Marriott Marquis is the only place to stay in New York! Great location and service! Our room was spacious and clean. We will stay there again for our next visit!

Only downside was the pillows - one rock hard, the other so soft it was practically non-existent.

Don't be fooled by the address of the Marriott Marquis.It' should read just Times Sq.You walk out the front door,and you are right in the thick of the action.You can get the subway to almost anywhere from times square (42nd street),the port authority bus terminal is blocks away,and Penn Station (subway,Long island Rail,and Amtrak) is a few blocks away.There […] is so much variety of food and shopping in the area,you could just stay around Times Square (obviously you wouldn't) The hotel itself is excellent.There are plenty of staff to assist with your every need.On checkout day,we'd been charged for the restaurant the day before.I rang and queried the charge,and within 10 to 15 mins,the problem was resolved. Two things I would point out.Parking looked expensive,so driving would be costly.However,you wouldn't need a car in NY anyway,with so many options to get around.The second is their internet.It's a little pricey.No complimentary wi-fi.But,there are many places around,that offer free wi-fi,that its not hard to take your device somewhere and sit down for a coffee or drink for a few mins,and use their free service.I would highly recommend the Marriott Marquis at Times Square. Good hotel for the mid-town location & price. Nice, comfortable & spacious by NYC standards. Great for a family or a business trip.
"Marriot Marquis--fun hotel, not so four star"
the Marquis is a great place to stay if you want to take in the insanity of Times Square and watch it all from your room. The "ammenities" are pretty pathetic in the room. No fridge, no mini bar and few TV channels. The bathroom was marginally clean and the towels scratchy and not four star. It's a fun place to stay but don't expect luxury.

We loved being in Time Square and so close to everything, including the subway. I would recommend Maxwell's as a place to eat to anyone wanting a great place to eat. And 8th and 9th street for drinks being less expensive. Maxwell's was the only place we ate in New York I would recommend to anyone. We loved that our breakfast was included in our price […] of the room. We would definitely stay there again. Everyone was very helpful if needed to know which direction was a place we were looking for. We loved the revolving bar and restaurant on top gave you a great view, but did not like the extra charge to get there after 8. We loved that our play was only a half a block from the hotel. "Staying right in Times Square"
The Mariott was okay, we were right in Tmes Square whch is crazy but so fun at the same time! Shops open till late and fun places to go at night, I personally think they Mariott was a bit of a rip off, I was happy with the price we paid to stay there but then the extra things onto of that at the hotel was where the stung you. We generally prefer the smaller boutique hotels in NYC but stayed here because we were with friends who had booked the Marquis. Our stay was really comfortable and pleasant and made even more enjoyable because of the location. We were in the heart of activity and close to great restaurants, theaters and the subway. convenient to everything that is a "must see" in Manhattan! the elevators are a thrill to the little ones!...everyone seemed to bend their backs to be of service!..we have never stayed anywhere else in the city and this was our 3rd visit....unless you are just looking for lavish indulgence such as the Plaza...etc..Times Square is the center of the universe […] and the Marriott Marquis is at it's heart! After reading some of the previous reviews, I was very excited to be staying at this hotel on Broadway. However there were a couple of reviews that stated that some of the rooms had bed bugs. I started to get a little nervous. Upon my arrival, I made sure to check the bedding very carefully. I was so pleased to see NOTHING... There were no bed bugs.. "Times Square View!"
We stay here every Labor Day because it"s the best hotel in Times Square and near all the wonderful Theaters. Would not want to stay anywhere else. The restaurant has a wonderful menu selection. And the "View" Restaurant was the best!

"Best Location - Very Poor Rooms"
Locationcannot be faulted on the door step of the very centre of Times Square. It was always a dream of our ours to stay at this wonderful looking hotel, unfortunately the rooms and the decor are badly outdated and a major let down. Things to note: Strong musty smell throughout the hotel, bed sheets simmilar to those used at Youth Hostels (i.e. are […] open at all sides for fast change), cockroach's in room (though to be fair we also saw them in Sbarro in Times Square so could just be the area); Times View room view does not mean a view out front it can be on the side with only a partial view. "Marriott Marquis: a bit pricey but great locale"
Second stay at this Marriott. Noisy construction during the day made lunch at the hotel out of the question on two of the three days we were there, but our room was fine and loved being right on Times Square. Had dinner at the Encore Restaurant, and they had an excellent special for 20 bucks! The cost of the room was high, plus the taxes and fees added […] another hundred dollars to the advertised price of the room for two nights. Marriott quality at a premium location. Close to everything! Minor inconvenience in hotel construction upgrades, but certainly no big deal. Great hotel for a good value.

The View was the place I like least,even te food was excellent,the resst was not a5 or4 the most a 3;I like the Encore and the Adventure BAAR close to the encore,the rest was extremely good

"Marriott Marquis-Always a GREAT CHOICE"
This is the third time I chose the Marriott Marquis-I chose it for its convenience to the Theater District and numerous restaurants. I chose it for its service and amazing city view and finally I chose it because we have had wonderful family memories here. Yes...it is always a GREAT CHOICE for a NYC adventure!

After staying at various hotels in and around NYC, it will be hard to stay anywhere else. The Marriott Marquis was perfect for us (despite construction going on in the building which was a bit noisy at times). The location was great, the staff was friendly, and thankfully we got an affordable rate. However, in trying to book for a return trip in early […] November I found the rate has more-than-doubled. Good value for a large family requiring 2 rooms. Located in the heart of Times Square, near the subway so that travel within the city was very easy. Loved the free access to the health club on the 23rd floor.

Fantastic location, much better quality than I expected. Large room. Strongly recommend. We had a blast, definitely check out the revolving lounge on the 48th floor. My 7 year old had fun, and we enjoyed the view.

Only there for one night but it was a great stay. Had dinner at the View with some friends from Europe, it was an awesome perspective of the Times Square area. We watched a wicked thunderstorm during dinner. The beds were very comfy.

Experience was wonderful. Staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they allowed us early check in. Great location...step out the door to theaters and onto Times Square. The only thing I can even give any negative would be construction going on but we could not hear this in our room and it is understandable in order to upgrade the hotel. If you are looking for a nice hotel where you will be right in the heart of all the action - this is the hotel for you. Because of its location and the name of this hotel, it is a bit pricier, but worth it if you can pay it. It may also be worth asking for a room with a view of the city on a high floor. We loved our stay at the Marquis . Rooms were very clean and the beds were nice and comfortable. It is in the heart of times square and you feel like you are right where everything is happening! Only problem was the congestion at the elevators on Friday night . We waited at least 20 minutes for an elevator. Other than that it was perfect! Felt very […] safe and comfortable. The hotel was clean in a good area but overpriced. I booked a stay well in advance and requested a room on the west side at that time I booked thru Hotel.com for the firework display. I paid one low price thru hotel.com but when I got to the hotel they charged an amount that was almost doubled what I paid thru Hotel.com to have a room facing the fireworks. […] That was the reason I booked the room on that day.
