Front desk manager (Jill) was the rudest human being ever! Room was filthy and customer service was a joke, called the 800 number for assistance and they didn't care either! NEVER again!

We had a pleasant stay at the Comfort Inn. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Staff was very friendly. Also, I have to mention that the McDonalds by the hotel had the best food I have ever had at a McDonalds. It was fresh! The town of Muskegon will be a place I will visit again. The whole town was nice.

Hmmmm. Hall and room had a smokey smell. A few minutes after we were in our room a worker for the hotel let himself into our room unannounced -- was embarrassed to see us as he thought the room was unoccupied and he was coming in to replace a towel rack. The next day, when we were out around town, I got a call on my cell phone wondering why our luggage […] was still in our room past the checkout time. This was a strange call, because we were not scheduled to check out until the following day. The people who worked there were friendly, the included breakfast and chocolate chip cookies both good. This hotel is just ok. It's a little overpriced. The breakfast was not very good and the bathroom floor was a little dirty. There was nothing horrible about it, but nothing better than mediocre either.

Rooms are very dusty and smell old & like mildew. They really need to be updated, the carpet and curtains need to be replaced. The bath tub didn't look clean. The lobby area had been updated and the staff was friendly. I would not recommend because of the rooms. Not worth the money.

Just a few things that we didn't care for....like the price was pretty steep, hot tub in pool area was not operating with just lukewarm water and water jets were not working. The continental breakfast was decent, our room was very clean as were the sheets. The air conditioning in room worked great. We checked in late which was no problem. We were pleased that the hotel pool didn't close until 11pm, which gave us time to play in there before bed. The hotel check in woman was very nice. Our room was clean, bathroom was clean and towels were freshly stocked. Nice TV, and I was glad to see a fridge in the room. There was a stain on our blanket, not […] sure if it was a permanent stain or what but we always bring our own blankets anyways. Our air conditioner didn't work too well so I had to open a window, and there was no screen. I would have been very annoyed if it was warm enough outside for mosquitoes, or if we were on the bottom floor. Also the water temp in our shower kept changing (it would go from fine to ice cold). The breakfast was very nice, it consisted of eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, muffins, doughnuts, cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal. There was also 3 different juices, coffee, and milk. When my son and I went to eat the first time at 7AM, there was barely anyone in the breakfast room and it was very comfortable. When we went back down at 9:30 with the rest of the family, it was PACKED! Nowhere to sit. I suggest getting down to breakfast as early as you can to avoid the rush. However, they kept refilling everything well. We let them know of a couple things that were out of stock and they were restocked quickly. The hotel was great for us. We needed a place to stay after our trip to Michigan's Adventure. It was easy to find off of the express way. There were many stores and resturants near by, which was great because we were starving by the time we got there. The staff was very friendly. The shower head was not your typical hotel shower head. There was actually […] water pressure and the shower head had different sprays to choose from. The only down side was the breakfast room. It was PACKED, and therefore they could not keep up with the demand. They need more people working the breakfast area. When we went, there was not much food left, and a huge line. We ended up going out for breakfast. But, we will definatly stay there again on our next trip to Michigan's Adventure. If you are passing through and all you want is just a place to sleep for the night and a quick breakfast in the morning before getting on the road again, then this place is ok for that. I would not stay here for any length of time to visit in the area.

Pool area kept very clean, very good size pool. Hot tub jets were disapointing though. Room was good. Breakfast was just ok.....but not enough sitting area very busy go early. This was the worst part of the stay. Beach ten minutes away straight down the street to the west.

The hotel itself was extremely warm. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but smelled like someone had been smoking before us. We were also very disappointed that there was not an elevator, which made it very difficult to lug all of our belongings up the stairs. While the hotel was clean and my room comfortable, I do have issues with the lack of security. I noticed that several guests were not completely closing the side door leading outside. Desk attendant said it was because of people who go outside to smoke. I questioned her about the possibility of someone who is not a hotel guest just coming in off the […] street through this door. She stated that there are cameras on every door and knows when someone comes in through a door. She was at the time talking to me and NOT viewing her screens. If I had small children, this would not be the place to stay. If it had not been so late, I would have tried to make different arrangements for myself. When I arrived at 3:15 pm to check in, my rooms were not ready and I had to be at a wedding at 5PM. The manager waited on me and was not knowledgeable on the check in procedure. Fortunately I only had to wait about 5 minutes. Two of the cleaning staff came in to the dining room the next morning and filled 4 plates of breakfast before 10:30 am. I saw […] several customers come in after that and it was gone. I was also charged a higher rate than Expedia had confirmed. During our stay they were doing some remodeling, that was much needed. the pool area was GREAT, but making us wear wrist bans over the weekend was a bit much. the pool area was HUGE many tables and chairs, video games, pool table ect, BEWARE the water in the indoor pool was ICE COLD. the hot tub was nice. The hotel rents out their pool area for parties. These should be monitored if you expect any of the other guest to enjoy their stay. The party that was held there Saturday night was over the top loud and had guests screaming to each other from the pool to the party platform and they had the music so loud everything on that side of the hotel was affected. […] It was also unruley most of the evening with hotel staff not wanting to address it. The staff was great, the breakfast was ok, but the hotel is an older facility. The handicapped access room had a toilet that was too low, the bed was too high. The shower was great though. The facilities need an update.

Our family stayed here over Labor Day weekend. It was very easy to find and located between Downtown Muskegon and Norton Shores where THE LAKES MALL is located. Super "back to school"/beach get-a-way. Needed a bigger place to house the free breakfast.

in boiling hot or freezing cold then this is your place. Brutal shower, the first night the air didn't work and the shower was awful, in the morning we complained and they were supposed to change our room, when we arrived back at the hotel no one had a clue thankfully someone in charge stepped up and gave us a new room which was an upgrade at no extra […] charge. This hotel was my first experience using Expedia and it turned out to be so simple. I had made a reservation at another hotel several monthes before for saturday and sunday nights and then our circumstances changed and we only needed a room for sunday night. When i called the other hotel, they told me we would have to pay for 2 nights whether we stayed […] for one or 2! In other words we couldn't pay for one room for one night, we had to pay for 2 nights so I immediatly cancelled that reservation.I found Comfort Inn Muskegon through Expedia, the date was available so I booked it. First of all this was the worst hotel experience ever. I would never stay at the Comfort Inn Hotel in Muskegon ever. Myself and my sisters had to be moved three times. They didn't have a elevator, we had to carry lots of luggage up and down several flights of stairs. The rooms were not clean to our satisfaction. The communication between staff was horriable. […] The owner David was arrogant, his customer service skills were terriable. He was rude to the staff in the presence of customers. Our overall experience was unexcepable. I rate this entire experience a 0, which is off the charts. In other words, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. The Air condition didn't work, in May, and no screen on the window, so that couldn't be opened. The room smelt musky, the handles on the drawers fell off or were already off. Not sure what the photos posted are from, but it certainly not this hotel. Pool was dirty and small. 1st room had sticky spots on the sheet, was courteously moved to a second room. Overall the rooms were clean but showed wear & tear in the bathrooms. 2nd room air conditioning worked but not efficiently. Went over labor day weekend to visit Michigan Adventure and Grand Harbor. Was very crowded and was impossible to take advantage of complimentary breakfast. Beds were too firm, hard to sleep. Hotel was right off highway which was convenient, but surrounding area was a little scary.

We were just in town for one night, and chose this hotel for the included continental breakfast. We stayed on a Sun night, and breakfast the next morning was very busy, not enough places to sit, and the staff couldn't keep the coffee and donuts filled. The front desk staff was not the friendliest, nor the most knowlegable about surrounding attractions. […] I asked for directions, and the manager had to step in. They also tried to charge me again for the room, even though it was booked online. The room was comfortable, everything worked, hot water was adequate. No elevator that we could find.
