The staff trip over themselves to be at your service. The room was super clean although it is beginning to show signs of age. I ordered room service, it was there in 20 minutes, food was excellent and very affordable.

parking was full at check in . leaving no place close to park . the king bed we had was fantastic . but the paint in the room and above the sower was in vary bad need or repair . for $200 a night i was expecting better .

Parking situation is a shambles. Checked-in and wasn't able to park at hotel. I have no problem paying for parking, but don't want to drive around a strange city looking for alternate parking solutions.

The room was clean, warm, and comfortable. All items were easy to find and there were plenty of pillows and adequate blankets for the time of year. The view from the balcony was fantastic, a great place to people watch. Overall I was very satisfied.

I don't like how I had to find my own place to park...downtown Calgary at night, everything is paid parking which only takes credit cards.. Which I don't have.. You run the risk of getting a fine AND towed

There was dust on the bed side table and lamp The t.v. volume was only working intermittently Could not connect to the (advertised) free wifi. Complained to management, but no forthcoming responses, also I was told since I had prepaid, no compensation was possible. Positives...the bed was very comfortable, shower/bath clean and excellent.

For the condition it's in, this hotel is overpriced! Needs a make-over! The staff and location are just fine, it's the building that really needs work.

Old hotel, under renovations. Clean rooms, very friendly service. Nothing special in terms of the rooms, but nothing wrong with them. Just be sure to avoid the floor with the smoking rooms, as you can easily smell the smoke. Originally they had put us here, but did not hesitate at all to move us to another floor. Excellent service.

Because I booked through Expedia and didn't get the name of the hotel until after I paid, I didn't qualify for rewards points. I spend 4 nights there so that was a disappointment. The internet was very poor. Most of the time we were barely able to operate. The staff were very accommodating and tried to make our stay pleasant. The temperature in my room was 25 degrees celsius at night, with the window open all night! Otherwise it soared to almost 30 degrees. The heat was turned off in the room. The whole building was horribly overheated! Not healthy in February!!!

We drove down from Edmonton to Calgary for our 10 yr anniversary and we stayed here for a night of relaxation. The hotel was very quiet and clean and the lady at the front was very helpful in letting us know how to get to the parkade, find our room and do a cash deposit as i dont have a credit card. They were very helpful in the valet parking and the […] room was excellent. We had a beautiful jacuzzi and the room was very clean. We recently booked a king jacuzzi suite at the Ramada Hotel on 8 ave SW. We were impressed with the service. We actually received a courtesy call after checking in to make sure we were happy with our accommodation. Although an older hotel, it is well maintained and the staff provide excellent service. I did not like the Ramada at all. I arrived at about 10pm in the evening. My internet was slow, and then eventually stopped working all together, despite all of my efforts. It was around 11:30 at that point, so I gave up, since I needed sleep anyhow. The alarm clock was frustrating to use and didn't work properly. The pipes were clanging and I heard […] major water hammer for more than two hours straight coming from the heater, from 11:30 until almost 2am. I could barely sleep in that place. I was only staying for one night, so I didn't complain to the front desk until the morning, because fixing any issues or moving rooms would've taken longer to deal with than was worth my time. Staff is excellent and the room clean. One side of hotel faces the Calgary LRT system which if you not use to makes for a noisey stay

Norman, Nicole and the very informative bag guy were excellent. The rest of the front desk staff needed a dose of happy pills. Bfast buffett average, but very plentiful. Serving staff another 50/50 split on content and surly. Gym quite good for a hotel, they have laundry facilities and the elevator was quick. Location is amazing. I stay here regularly. This time the heating system kept me up all night. Called desk and they sent someone up to fix but the noise continued through the night. Other times the rooms were quiet.

The Ramada in downtown Calgary is showing its age. Stained floors, faded wall paper, poorly completed repairs were all very evident. The great staff made up for some of these things, but not to a great degree.

Room was nice. Only issue was the lousy WIFI. Got better speeds tethered to my cell phone and a reliable connection. Had to go into hallway to get some pages to load. Minor one and think is a pet peeve of mine, the shower needs to be better. More pressue, more water...just a pref of mine. Was a nice plus to have HD TV!

I was surprised that a hotel with the Ramada brand was this run down. Chipped paint, stained rugs, it is really ugly. The beds are comfortable enough if that helps. There are lots of hotels in downtown Calgary. Book ahead and you'll get better value for your money.

The hotel was conveniently located - clean - staff were friiendly and very helpful. The only thing that we found to complain about was the entrance into the parkade. Very narrow and had a bad curve to it. Was nervous going in.

The hotel was in a good location downtown within walking distance of Stephen Avenue and shopping. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and room service was good. Also there wasfreewifi.

Worst hotel I have stayed in. Hotel staff were walking in the hall and opening and slamming shut doors at 3 am... Complained to front desk and received a blank dead stare. Booked double queens and they gave us a nasty double bed room. Had to order cot since we didn't fit on beds and they charged us extra.

Heating system makes horrible noise thru the night. Walls so thin I could hear next door tv at 3 AM. Room service messed up simple order. Poor customer service from front desk. No refrigerator or safe in room.

Not bad for the price I paid for the stay. The location works for me as I can walk to my training. I can also hop onto a C-train close by (but not so close that the noise from the train will be an issue).

Colder January day, about -20 degrees. Room on the 9th floor was excessively warm. Thermostat was turned as low as it could but yet heat was still pouring out the roof vent. Finally got comfortable at 4am by leaving door to the balcony open about a foot.

I BOOKED A 2 DOUBLE BED ROOM, WHEN I WALKED IN THE ROOM , THE BATHROOM WAS SO SMALL I COULDN'T EVEN GET IN THERE AND CLOSE THE DOOR, SO I ASKED FOR THE SAME KIND OF ROOM WITH A BIGGER WASHROOM, I PHONED FRONT DESK TO LET THEM KNOW, THE GUY AT FRONT DESK WITH A LONG BEARD WAS RUDE TO ME ON THE PHONE, AND SAID HE WILL GET ME THE ROOM CHANGE, THEN HE SENDS […] A STAFF MEMBER TO MY ROOM TO GIVE ME THE NEW KEY CARD TO ENTER MY NEW ROOM, HE ACTUALLY GAVE ME THE SAME ROOM ON ANOTHER FLOOR, SO I CALLED FRONT DESK AGAIN AND ASKED FOR A BIGGER ROOM FOR THE SAME PRICE, THEN HE MUST OF THOUGHT I HUNG UP THE PHONE BUT I KEPT THE PHONE TO MY EAR, AND I COULD HEAR THE GUY DISRESPECTING ME ON THE PHONE, SO I WENT DOWNSTAIRS TO THE FRONT DESK, AND SOME OTHER MAN GAVE ME KEYS TO A BIGGER ROOM, I WAS TOLD THAT THE YOUNG GUY AT FRONT DESK WAS WRITTEN UP FOR BEING RUDE TO ANOTHER GUEST IN THE PAST, YET THEY KEEP HIM WORKING AT THE RONT DESK. I WILL NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN, , PAY A LITTLE MORE MONEY AND GET YOURSELF A BETTER HOTEL IN THE SURROUNDING AREA, WHEN I FIRST CHECKED IN I HEARD A LADY COMPLAINING ABOUT HER ROOM AND THE LACK OF ATTENTION SHE WAS GETTING FROM THE RAMADA STAFF, THAT SHOULD OF BEEN A CLUE FOR ME NOT TO STAY THERE, BUT MY ROOM WAS ALREADY BOOKED ONLINE. There is a permanent air vent pumping on each room on the 9th Floor (Top). It blasts loud all night and there is not way to shut it off. Front desk said that it must remain on to activate the entire hotel heating system. If you are a sensitive sleeper, stay on other floors. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable...if you are able to rest!

the hotel has many issues with the minimal maintenance. the heating system with such high noise (hammer) , you wont be able to sleep a minute !

Although the room I stayed in was a little out of date, it was clean. The internet connection was good (big issue for the business traveller), and very comfortable house coat.

There's nothing wrong with this hotel but it seems to want to do nothing to distinguish itself either. They do the bare minimum. For example, my hotel room was very large - but had only a bed, desk and TV. There is room for a sofa, chairs, fridge but it's just empty space.

Compared to pricing at other hotels, this one was a bargain. It was nothing special, but I would definitely pick again if I needed to stay downtown in Calgary. I did not use any of the hotel's amenities other than the store to grab toothpaste & water.

Good location in the heart of downtown area with reasonable price,super close to shopping malls. The additional charges at check-in comes unexpected,should have mention it earlier. Really likes the friendly staffs, they tried their best to help us and make us feel welcome all the time. For the price was comfortable and walking distance to eateries and sites. Staff helpful in getting a tour setup in low season ( althogh did not happen as such) rented a car with staff assistance and garage parking available for duration of rental( for a fee)
