Only negative is you must pay extra for use of pool and gym. No shower door so bathroom floor gets flooded!. Staff and room great.

We got a chance to stay at this hotel for 3 days. The service was excellent. Maria at the front desk went above and beyond to help us with our requests. Anything that we asked was at our room within 2 mins of the call. We would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat....

Upsides: The Melia Princesa is located in a very central location in down-town Madrid. About 8 minute walking to distance to Place-de-Espana and the Calle Via shopping district, and about 15 minute walk to the Royal Palace and gardens. In terms of service, we managed to get an upgrade that included nice panoramic views from the 11th floor, late check-out […] flexibility, free access to the spa, and access to the Executive Lounge (unlimited drinks and snacks from 11am - 11pm) all for an extra Euro 50 / day. All staff spoke good English, which is impressive for Spain. Travelling from the airport using the metro couldn’t be easier although you have to change lines twice. Downsides: - There was 2 of us in the room and we only received 1 bath robe. - The TV channels were mainly in Spanish. Only 2 English-speaking channels and both were music stations. Quality of transmission was poor. - You have to pay Euro15 per day to use the spa. - The massage facilities are poor and there is only 1 guy (male) that does the massage, which was not convenient for a couple wanting to do their massage at the same time and on a spa getaway.. - The spa is closed on Sundays. - Breakfast buffet is good but requires a greater variety in terms of breads, meats, pancakes, etc. Baca selanjutnya

Great hotel. Accomadating staff. Only complaint was inconsistent Wi-Fi service.

We just stayed for 4 nights including New Year's Eve. The hotel is at the edge of where you want to be but it always involved walking the same streets to get into exactly where we wanted to be! The metro was truly at the door so that was convenient. Room was trendy and updated with a fun decor. Room was clean fresh with a very comfy bed.

We have stayed at this hotel many times before and we will most definitely stay there again. The staff is courteous, professional and accommodating, the rooms are clean and the location is the best. Parking garage available at site (not included in price) but very convenient. Indeed worthy of its 5 star rating.

This is a good not a great hotel. The rooms are very tight tough very cleverly laid out to make the most of every inch of space. The property is in good condition but there are numerous extra charges for small things - access to a computer in the lobby is a charge and there is a charge to have ice brought to the room. Loved the styling and features of my totally modern room. But hated the cigarette smoke seeping into my room from some other room, waking me up at night. If they could fix that, I'd be back in a heartbeat.

Hotel was nice, but had a mild run-down feel to it. It was a 4 star at best. Pleasant experience tho, would go back

We went to Melia for our wedding anniversary, they really took care of us, I advise to book the Grand Premium Room, with the jacuzzi, and the level, which is very useful! Haven't used the spa facilities but had a look and it was OK. The staff is great and I would definetly use it again when coming back to Madrid.

An excellent modern hotel in a fantastic location. Would go back in a minute.

The hotel is located about 2 tube stations from the city centre and is a 5 min walk from the local large supermarket. The interior of the hotel is lovely and well kept, Overall I think the hotel is expensive for what you get and beware that the sauna and swimming pool are not included in your room and they cost an extra 17 euros each to use! Excellent location, close to Plaza de Espana, movie theaters, restaurants, coffee shops, stores. Hotel has apparently been remodeled and it looks very nice & modern, good size room for European standards. Good service & friendly staff.

Excellent location, close to Plaza Espana, Metro station, Gran Via and shopping. This was an excellent deal for the money we paid. I highly recommend it.

The Melia Princessa on first sight can be a little off putting as it is clearly a throw back to an earlier era of large multi storey concrete eye sores, however; following a makeover it is extremely comfortable on the inside, and tastefully decorated. The room was clean, spacious and generally noise free, overlooking a main road. The hotel staff were […] very pleasant with good English as our Spanish was poor, the only down side; being nearly charged for two breakfasts that we did not have, upon check out, however this was remedied. The location is ideal for sightseeing, everything is effectively within walking distance, the Plaza Espana is 300 metres, and the Ventura Rodriguez Metro station is directly outside the hotel, which opens up the whole city for exploring. This is a good Hotel and a great location. My only dissappointment was with the room size and condition of the pool! Still....Great location and friendly staff for the price.

The Hotel was great but the service at the reception desk was very poor, initially we though this could be unique to one of the reception members but we then realised all 4 people we spoke to were very cold and not friendly at all. Easy to improve but something Melia should be paying attention to.

This hotel is well located although not exactly on the main street (gran Via). the entrance to the hotel is really lousy. it is so non-descript that we missed it twice. it also is constructed right next to a tall office building whose windows look straight into the hotel room. Service is warm and friendly. the metro station is right outside. the buffet […] breakfast is very european - too much pork and ham. totally insensitive to asian or international travellers. the menu is exactly the same each day - on day 3 i wanted to barf!! We are regular visitors to Madrid and found the Melia Princesa to be exactly what we want. Location in Princesa street is near center of city, yet easy access in and out of Madrid. Close to Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Gran Via makes it ideal for just about everything you would want to do. I did not eat at the hotel as there many great places nearby which I believe present a much better ambience for dinner and perhaps less expensive. hotel was very nice, very easy to get to from the the airport via the metro and the stop leaves you at the front door. staff where very nice. location is very central for all tourist attractions, resteraunts and some where for a drink. if i go back to madrid i will stay at this hotel again. its worth the extra few euro

Fantastic hotel. Only downside is the location isn't in the center of town. Only other downside was one of the rooms we booked had a poorly designed shower so the bathroom tended to flood after a shower. BUT great hotel and nice decor and remodeling.

Nice hotel, but do never phone from the room, it's extremely expensive...and I called in Spain. People are professional and nice, but I still have the impression that I was a number - nothing personalized, and I think it's part of a 5 star. Brilliant hotel, with friendly staff but very stylish room and public areas. Rooms have mini bar, safe and plasma TV, with gorgeous bathroom. Right by a Metro station a couple of stops from Sol and 100 yards from a selection of bars & restaurants. Waking distance from park with Egyptian temple, Palace and American Museum. The Melia Madrid Princessa was close to the Plaza De Espana and the Royal Palace. Good reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Open top bus stop 100 metres from the hotel. The service in the hotel was excellent and I would certainly stay at the hotel again. Excellent value for money.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights along with my family and it was great. Room was very clean and comfortable and at the same time very chic decor as well. I loved the glass doors in bathroom and tastefully decorated seating area. The location was right in the downtown and convenient to metro stops.

I recently stayed at this hotel during a business trip. I had already been in Madrid for one week and decided to change hotels to experience a different part of the city. I can honestly tell you the roooms look exactly like the pictures on their website! Very clean and contemporary with all the amenities. I had a single, king bed which was firm and […] comforable. The rooms was a little small compared to U.S. hotels, nevertheless I still loved the room. The only "complaint" I have is that the hotel is between two busy streets so you will hear the noise if you stay on the lower floors. The best they could give me was the 7th floor which was OK, but I would've rather had a higher floor. Oh, the hotel doesn't have wifi, but you can get free in-room internet with a cable. After several complaints, we have to move to another room because of air conditioning problems.

The Melia palace is conveniently located close to a metro stop, restaurants, department stores and is a few hundred meters away from a tourist bus stop. The hotel staff were friendly, the 'Level' service we had was quite wonderful, the breakfast buffet was pretty good and was included in the price. Hotellet ser anonymt og kjedelig ut fra utsiden. Men på innsiden er det gjort morsomme og litt dristige interiørvalg og romløsninger. Funksjonaliteten og komforten på værelsene er blitt bra ivaretatt. Romløsningen var kreativ og effektiv. Fint bad / garderobe. TV-stolen var sjeldent god, sengen likeså. Accueil: le consierge pas très aimable, aucun conseil sur les activités, musées, ou restaurants à visiter. Ne demande même pas si nous avons été content de notre séjour. Dommage. Chambre: très bon état générale, lit très confortable, salle de bain magnifique, accès internet gratuit :-). Pas de chaine de télé en français. petit déjeuné en chambre: médiocre […] pour 26.75€ par personnes vous aurez 1 boisson chaude, 1 jus d'orange, un assortiment de viennoiserie;1 croissant, 1 pain au chocolat, 1 genre de donut. Vraiment hors de prix!!! Buffet petit déjeuné: pour le même prix 26.75€ , un énorme buffet, live cooking, pancake délicieux(il manquait le sirop d'érable) fruits frais, charcuterie excellente. très satisfaisant bien que le prix soit toujours un peu élevé. Spa: pas de lumière au dessus la piscine on est donc dans la pénombre en permanence ce qui n'est pas agréable du tout. le bain bouillonnant est tout à fait sommaire, le hamam mais pour 15€ la journée c'est passable. situation: à 200m de la station de metro, on nest loin de rien, en moins de 5 minutes on est plein centre ville, et des musées. En bref nous avons bénéficié d'un tarif de chambre intéressant pour 3 nuits, mais en ajoutant le breakfast je ne dirai pas que ce fut bon marché à la finale... Mais nous avons passé un bon séjour.
