It was a small cozy and clean place with complementary breakfast. The receptionist and manager were polite and helpful. The microwave in one of our rooms were broken, but it wasn't a problem since we used the one in the other room. My boyfriend and I live in the Bay Area we decided to get out of town for two nights and go to monterey and visit the monterey bay aquarium. The staff was very pleasant and extremely nice. Had a very pleasant check in and check out and one night they even helped us call a cab to get down to the warf. Everything about this hotel is very nice. The parking […] lots and over all hotel is very well lite up so when we returned late at night we felt safe. The only problem was the hotel guests staying above us were completely rude stomping around. We loved the location - really in the center of things and having the restaurants and Whole Foods right across the street was very convenient. The coffee in the morning was really good and overall it was just what we needed and not too big. I was surprised at the deferred maintenance in my room. Although there had been a new floor for the bathroom, it was laid right over the old floor. Likewise, the shelf above the sink was "drooping," even though it had a new piece of "marble" pasted onto it. The carpet was spotted and filthy, the easy chair was so stained and filthy that I didn't sit […] in it, the floor boards were "soft", and I was afraid once I would fall through. The hotel was in need of up dating. The bedspread & blanket both had holes in it. the bathroom screen was ripped. the carpet need a good shampooing. The cont. breakfast was a laugh very little there.
