Convenient to the University, low cost, but the first room we were put in had an overwhelmingly horrible smell...that was the bathroom wall leak that soaked the towels hanging behind the tank against the wall-and the toilet paper roll sitting on the tank! Then we get moved next door that had another leak in the bathroom - not sure if it was the tub […] or toilet...at least it didn't smell. Manager was also unwilling to get a frig into our room. "Breakfast" was all high sugar carbs. The orange juice was good. The beds were terrible and the pillows worse. But, hey, we were only in our rooms a few hours a day, so, you get what you pay for. The hotel room smelled clean, bed was comfortable, with comfortable sheets but scratchy thin towels, a door that was very difficult to open. At one point, the toilet kept running so I lifted the lid and it was covered with black goo. The under edge of the countertop around the sink was also coated with black stuff. Hotel was what I expected. Nothing fancy but it was close to the schott. Room was clean & guy at front desk spoke decent english. Thats about all I can hope for these days.

Cheap is the best way to describe it. Definitely run down. Room floor was dirty and so were the walls. Front office smelled like a men's sauna. Very bad hood two blocks away. Even the McD's sucked. Sorry but Day's Inn failed.

Hotel staff was helpful. Location for Ohio State University was convenient. Room was adequate. Safe does not work. Lots of traffic noise from I-71. Room was cold and had to run fan constantly so became very dry.

Recently stayed at this Days Inn with my family. The building itself is in need of some serious updates and repairs (I recommend that they add some weatherstripping around the door to the outside...), but the room was spotless and the fellow at the front desk was quick and helpful. After discovering the door to my room did not work, I returned to the […] front desk and without batting an eye, the gentleman working apologized profusely, reswiped my cards and directed me to another room. Another thing I want to mention-- nowhere on this site did it say that the hotel had breakfast, but I believe it does. We didn't eat there because we had other plans, but I know they had coffee and cereal and probably fruit and muffins or something. Reserved Non smoking and was given smoking. Room was not clean. Had to request a new room. Also had someone knocking on door at 5 in the morning asking for help with thier car. I would not recommend this hotel as a place worth staying at. Better options are available.

This Days Inn definitely does not live up to the same standard of others in the chain. The bathroom had visible dirt on the floor. Generally, the hotel appeared a bit run down. The breakfast was very minimal: the juice machine didn't work properly and cream cheese that should have been refrigerated was just kept in a container with no ice. When the […] staff was alerted to a problem, he acted as if it wasn't really a problem. Highway 71 provided a lot of noise that could keep one up at night. The clientele at Days Inn Columbus Fairground were all very curteous and helpful in every way during our stay.

While in rout to Days in Our GPS failed and not knowing where we were going I called 1-800 --- and asked if we could have help with directions to our reserved room -and the girl asked the name of the motel-I said DAYS INN at 17oo clara ave Columbus Ohio. and she asked can you spell the name? (DAY S_)--she said she could not locate the name of the Motel- […] I asked if I should just call the local # and she thought that would be best. Hard hard is It to Find DAY'S INN ?? I then called the local Day's inn . Explaining the lost of GPS power and no idea as to where were were headed I asked the young man for directions, . I told him we were on I75 going south and that there is a hyw. 270 circling Columbus . He said go from I75 to 270 and then south on 71. and wold be very easy-. But 270 is a circle -reaching 270 at the top of the circle going south did not make logic. I asked is the Day's Inn south of Columbus and is it soth of the 270 --he said yes it is quite simple just follow the signs. Well there is a Day's Inn South of 270 at the 71 / 270 -But that was not the one were were looking for. The good people there called and got proper directions after returning towards the north 20 miles we located our room. Now that was an unnecessary extra 40 miles but of more importance the reason for our visit was the American Quarter horse Congress. and an hour of missed events . Also it was now 1:10 pm --Ipm check in time. I asked if i could check in as once over at the Horse show I had no idea how long before I would be back-- he said the rooms were not and be after 3pm. and I could not check in now and the rooms had already been paid for. I have stage four cancer and was in lots of pain -latter my wife came to the motel to out our luggage in and get keys --My wife called me to say that I needed to bring my credit to be able to get the room --I Lost my temper --asked to talk to the Manager as this was what I had tried to avoid. Not only was my husband a little iffy on the location, but when I called and told the manager that we were bitten by bed bugs while staying there, I got, in a very thick accent, "well the manager will call you back".....3 weeks later, no call back. was ok...the pool was not opened this summer..good thing my daughter forgot her swimsuit..would have been upset had we actually planned on using it...the toilet in our room was not working right and ran and was noisey thru the whole night which made it hard to sleep besides all the cops and people talking in the parking lot outside..the location was […] good though if you need fast access to the fairgrounds! if going to crew stadium this hotel is not bad for the price. But I recomend you take your own pillows if you want to get any comfortable sleep.

As with other comments - great location for fairgrounds and crew games - short walk to 4th street pub - room was clean and good a/c - continental breakfast very poor, but mcdonalds is right there - watch where you park as we saw cars towed (and upset people) on a strip right between the mcdonalds and hotel parking lots. not sure i would walk around […] at night - we took a cab back from the pub instead, even though it probably took longer than a walk with the detours around the fairgrounds - I would stay here again for a crew game. I wanted a pool at the motel I would be staying at for three nights. I asked when booking the motel if the pool was open, the Lady told me the pool was operating. When I got there in mid July the pool was tarped over. When I asked about this they gave me a pass to the indoor pool next door at the Comfort Inn, needless to say I didn't use the pool next […] door. The first room did not have functioning A/C (and it was 100 degrees) or any cold water. Beds were very soft and jiggly. Second room much better. Woke up to car alarms going off all night the first night. Pool closed. Manager did address all issues.

2 women staying in HELL, we didn't get in till midnight needless to say we had to STAY. The room was SOO Dirty we had stains on the sheets on 1 of the bedsso we slept in 1 bed for the first night. We couldn't sleep so we got up a 6 am after we went driving around looking for a CVS to buy candles to help with the SMOKE SMELL in a non-smoking room. We […] were SOOO GLAD to be back at the hotel with locks on the door. Not a safe neighborhood, the stadium is across the street but not a well lite up area so we drove, we made the best of it. Wouldn't let my dog stay there. Won't use Hotels.com again to book another room because I don't want to be looked into something this horrible with NO option to get out. Hotels.com should be ashamed to have this hotel as an option. Checked into 1st room. Smelled funny, poorly lit entrance to room and remote didn't work. Moved to 2nd room. Pro's: Price Con's: The door to the room from outside didn't close fully so there was a large crack, the air conditioner leaked liquid that saturated the rug, the bed sheets had what looked like oil stains on them, the plastic wrapped cups that you usually get with a coffee machine were already opened and one was missing(!), the shower curtain smelled […] moldy and had spots of mold on it. This Inn was OK for a one night stay. The Continental breakfast was not up to par in my opinion. It had no cereal & the orange juice machine diluted the juice with water & did not taste good.

First we booked a non smoking room, when we opened the door the first thing we saw was ash trays, We were allowed to switch rooms but it didnt get any better. As soon as we open the door the room smelled like it had been under water for a month with the stinch of mildew!! The carpet was nasty and stained and cob webs in all the corners. We had to keep […] the door open until we went to bed to try and get rid of the smell. The sheets on the bed were noticeably stained with who know what which made us sleep on top of teh covers in our clothes. We had the room reserved for 3 nights and got the heck out of there first thing in the morning!!! The WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel was a decent size, with a standard cleanliness rating. It was brought up in my search for a hotel near the Columbus convention center and was far from that in all honesty. It was about a 10 minute drive to the center, which I expected to be much closer. The neighbor hood was sub par. It was run down for the most part. However there are a few […] bars around the area. Which can make night time fun. The only real thing I didn't care for was the staff, there was a power outage during my stay and it was impossible to find any of the staff members around inorder for me to ask basic questions. This hotel was conveniently close to a concert I was attending. However, we were supposed to have a queen-sized bed and a roll away for three adults. There were no roll aways and the bed was barely a full size bed. Our son wouldn't even sleep on the floor because it was stained and looked very unclean. This hotel is in an industrial area, so there isn't much around it, but it is in walking distance to Crew Stadium and the Ohio State Fair Grounds. My group was staying here for a concert, so this was a very good location. There is a McDonald's next door which made it very easy to grab a quick bite to eat. The good: The hotel is well kept on the outside. […] They had a mini-fridge and a microwave in the room, cable tv with around 60 channels, and the air conditioning was ice-cold. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. We were their for a concert, as were most of the other guests, and it was very quiet in the room even though there was a lot of partying going on around us. The room was clean, and I didn't feel worried about bed bugs, or bare feet on the floor. The bad: Our room needed some attention. The toilet leaked water from the intake line, the border around the room was coming off in spots and the beds were showing their age. The bathroom is very small. There was only one available electric outlet in the whole room next to the sink. The toilet kept making weird sounds entire night, which was seriously truly annoying!!! The receptionist had no passion to serve us, and I said thank you after I asked him for toothpaste, but he just looked like doesn't care and did not say anything back and not even looked at me! About only thing good I say about hotel is it was really close to the schott, crew stadium and the fairgrounds. The bad thing is there was a pair of boxers just laying on the floor when we got there, the front desk was not very friendly.

We have stayed here on 3 separate occasions when we have come to Columbus. The location is great, you can take a cab to downtown for a reasonable price. Staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean.

It was located directly off of a highway and we were placed in a room in the back, therefore, you could hear the trucks roaring past throughout the night.

The room was very dirty, along the bed was dirt and food from months. I called around to other hotels but was unable to find any with a room for my child and I to stay or we would have not stayed there 5 minutes. I could not have been more unhappy with with a Days Inn. There was mold in the bathroom, along the wall and all over the showers. The toilet […] seat was broken and needed fixed. The blankets looked as if they had not been washed in along time. The t.v. when turned ion was three different colors, but most of the screen was just green. Thank God, I live in cold state and carry blanket in my car for the winter, because that is what we layer the bed with. My teenage cried when I made her lay in the bed, because we was scared of bed bug. On a good point, there was no bed bugs, but I still left our stuff outside in the garage when I got home, until I could was everything just in case, I brought something home with us. first room assigned was very run down. second was recently updated . "breakfast included " is / was the cheapest spread I've ever seen as "continental" cheap pastries, small bagels and juice machine. no cereal at all, no yogurt , no waffles , no fresh fruit.

Room was dirty. There was barely any hot water and when you turned the know to get hot water, it squeeled like a pig. The light and fan in the bathroom was one and the same. The fan was extremely loud. Microwave barely warmed the food. More importantly, the gave us the wrong room from what we reserved for.

This hotel is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. ( about 60 hotels a year for business). Initially was put into a room that had not been renovated and the heat did not work. To top it off, internet connection horrible. WAs put into a different room only to learn, it had been renovated ( several years after other room) but was horrible too. Heat was […] lacking! A homelss person was wanting "jumper cables" from anyone that would listen. I parked car and he started coming at me wanting jumper cables for a non-existant car. Notified front desk about individual and nothing was done about it. Horrible stay! Horrible Place. The only good thing was convenient to I71 and downtown. Will never stay at this hotel again!
