The staff at the Poughkeepsie Inn made my stay enjoyable. They created a nice comfortable atmosphere and the staff was extraordinarily friendly. Definitely, the best hotel in the area for the price.

This experience was pretty bad and dare I say "scarey." I was actually worried to stay in the motel and almost opted to go down the road to the Holiday Inn Express. There was no one else staying there. My car was the lone vehicle in the parking lot. There was really no security and the location was pretty sketchy. I wasn't expecting a motel. Continental breakfast was lacking. Only offered donuts, bagels, toast, coffee and OJ. Had to go buy milk and cereal nearby. Night staff person was nice. Let me into storage/employee room to use microwave.

Checkin Staff were friendly. Free breakfast was average. Shower curtain had mold. Room had slight 'off' oder. Bath tub had 'bubble' in the flooring which made it difficult to maintain balance.

For the price you pay its not worth having cigarette burns in every part of the room the sheets had holes and rips every thing was bolted down. i felt very unsafe. not worth the price.

Hotel was in a good location. The beds were a little uncomfortable, ant the tv was tiny, and had a bad picture. Overall it wasn't that bad i have stayed in much worse.

This is the most horrible of places that I have EVER rented, and I travel very frequently. I would NEVER recommend that anyone stay at this hotel. The room was dirty, and the decor was terrible. I overpaid for this room for sure.

This hotel is what it is and it is not a problem if we paid a relative price. The fact that it was a special weekend for the city meant that they jacked up the price and because of this, our expectation was obviously not met. In other words, the quality we got was in no way at the level of the price we paid.

We didn't even stay the night.....tiolet was running, holes in the blankets, flat and bumpy pillows, microwave on the floor, cable box bolted to the dresser with metal strapping.

The staff were very nice. The motel use to be part of a chain. It is a bit run down, but okay if what you are looking for is a clean room to place your head down at night. We were instructing all day and just wanted a bed. For that it was fine. We were in a smoking room and there were burn marks on the bathroom vanity and bathtub. Bathroom was dingy and not updated at all. Yellow lights. Scratches on the doors and mildew on the shower curtain. Ice machine is by the lobby. All outdoor rooms which there is no picture of.

During our stay, the hotel was reasonably clean and the staff was not an issue; however, we had a HUGE issue with the safety in the area. Firstly, there were no chain locks on the doors, a definite neccesity in the motel setting and area. During our one night stay, at 4:05am our door was beeing banged on and rattled by some blazing drunks. We looked […] outside the window and they had hoodies and metal bars...as if they were ready to rob us of everything. Luckily, when we threatened to call the police, they left. Really run down.. queen size sheet on king size bed kept coming off the corners.. cigarette burns everywhere in the room including the linens.. and on and on.. front desk was friendly though..

First knew that I was in trouble by the outside of the dilapitated building that looks really run down. then I went in my room and was horrified. Bugs in the light fixtures, stains on the bed, cigarette burns in the bed spread, bathroom had mold in showerand some strange stains near toilet...Never ever never ever stay here...ever...I'd rather sleep […] in an alley way...that would have been cleaner... The hotel manager was very friendly and helpful and printed out directions for us to the train station and train schedules.

don't ever stay here... Rooms are old, beat up and smell. Bath falling apart. Smoke alarms go off because bath fan can't vent the humidity from a shower. No wi-fi despite this being promised. Beds uncomfortable, sheets blankets like horse hair. Atrocious.

The Poughkeepsie Inn looks a bit down on its luck, but my room was actually very comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast was lean, but the bagels were actually excellent, and there was plenty of coffee & tea, 24 hours. The folks at the desk were very nice. Overall, if I could have stayed at another hotel, I would have, but because there are […] so many colleges in the area, it might be your least expensive choice. Nothing special about this place. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Clean as far as I could tell but with pervasive smell of cleaning products (or air freshener?). Standard motel layout with one picture window looking out over your car, so you have to draw the curtains when you're undressed. The usual depressingly awful breakfast items. This hotel is the best buy in Poughkeepsie. A hotel is usually a function of the staff and this hotel would be rated a 6 on a scale of 1-5 if available. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and most hospitable. The rooms I have stayed at are always clean, and provides all of the usual needs. An outstanding shower, plenty of hot water, cable TV, personally […] controlled thermostats for temperature, internet capability, morning coffee, donuts, bagels.. continental breakfast. The price is very competitive and the location is perfect. It is located 10 minutes from Hyde part and the FDR national landmark, 2 minute walk to Samuel B Morse federal Historic site, 5 minutes by car to the largest Mall in Dutchess county (Galleria), 5 minute drive to Marist College and 7 minutes or so to Vassar College.some of the finest restaurants in NY STATE are also with 10 minutes of this hotel, including the culinary Institute of America, where some of the best chefs in the world have been trained (they offer 4 of the finest restaurants in NY). hotel is under new management the staff is very nice the room was clean but verrrrry run down terrible beds burn holes in blankets water stains in ceiling , in dire need of bieng painted and was 10 dollars more then days inn in fishkill ny which has a gym was clean and very nice with comfortable beds .

The bedspread was stained and dirty. The sheets had holes in them. The towels are kinda scratchy! I think Barton Fink stayed here.

We were there for my son's graduation. The owners were VERY NICE. Breakfast was very basic, doughnut, 24 hours coffee, tea, bagel, When you turn the hotwater, cold water comes out, and when you turn knob for cold water, hot water comes out. The bathroom knob is not working, but they fixed it right away. The microwave is far from the outlet.

`This had to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I think it is part of a welfare housing group. It smelled terrible. To be honest , I am surprised its even listed on Hotels.com I booked 2 nights. Didnt even stay. Just handed my key in and left. The star rating was a total joke. The room smelled of mildew and skunk. The DVD player was bolted to the furniture using iron bands. The armchair was torn, shabby, dirty, and generally disgusting. The Hotel is conveniently located to Marist College, that's why we booked it. The bed is pretty comfortable, but the blanket is very thin and worn. 24 hour offering of tea and coffee in the lobby was nice and the staff was very friendly.
