"The staff were lovely, the rest of the hotel was what you would expect for a Super 8, a place to sleep and that's all. My room had a refrigerator but no microwave, however there was a microwave in the lobby. I was there for a week long seminar so would have appreciated a microwave in the room for cooking. The room was fine and dog friendly but warm and didn't seem to have air conditioning. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel bar was underneath our room and when it closed the crowd woke you up for about an hour before it settled down again.

Very accomodating, clean and comfortable. A bit out of town and no sidewalks on highway mean you can't walk easily back into town - but you can walk along the disused railway into town I think - didn't try it! Great value for a good nights sleep and the addtition of waffles on the continental breakfast make this hotel such good value!

I love that Super 8 Hotel in Duncan. We had stayed there before and when I heard the Ballet was performing in Duncan I knew I would book into the Super 8 and stay the night instead of driving over the Malahat Mountain at night to return home. Not only are the rooms clean and comfy but I had the added bonus of being able to enjoy a leisurely drink in […] the bar of Smitty's (connected to the Hotel) before the show as a friend was driving me to the ballet. After the Ballet we returned to the pub and enjoyed the rest of the evening interacting with the locals. We were both able to enjoy a drink at that stage because I had booked us both in to stay the night even though my friend lives in Duncan. Definitely recommended for a girls night out. The check in front desk attendant was friendly, but we were shocked by the 25 year old decor and what passed for a double bed room. The attendant offered us an upgrade for the next day, but did not advise the morning attendant so she wasn't sure what to do. We did get our upgrade which was a larger bed, but it was still an old room. The headboard hung […] on one nail on the wall and the furniture was badly scratched and old. We arrived late. But the hotel staff was pleasant and the hotel sounded quiet. The room was small but did the job. The toilet was very small and too close to the tub. Not enough towels. The continental breakfast was great. My kids all loved it. Thanks Super 8 for a great value hotel.

This is an inexpensive motel that provides good value for money. My room was clean, quiet, comfortable and just what I wanted. No surprises. Not fancy and not big - but just fine. The attached restaurant was a good place for breakfast. I would stay there again without hesitation.

All was good except the breaker kept blowing with the hair dryer, everything else in room was turned off and it still blew when drying hair

This was not good. My two children and I were crammed into this tiny hotel room, with barley room for us to maneuver. I don't know how they can expect 4 adults to use this room. It had double beds and they were not comfortable for any of us. The closet was not deep enough to hang clothes without hitting the door, and the hallways were dirty and had […] a weird smell. There is a Smitty's in the building at the front and a pub at the back. The whole area was grungy and not something we enjoyed at all. The cost for 2 double beds and small space without a pool or anything redeeming was ridiculous. This confirmed for us that we will never stay at a Super 8 hotel again. No pool as advertised. No air conditioning. Room was hot. Had what I thought looked like a bed bug in the bed. Took it to the front desk who said there was a dog in the room the night before. Breakfast was decent.

Not much choice in Duncan, thats why the high charge. No elevator. No cloths closet, just hooks, no vanity counter space. Windows were dirty and did not open. Was not vacuumed under curtains (dead flies on floor) Better to stay at B&B or drive to Nanaimo or Victoria.

We had a clean, comfortable room that met all our needs. We were out all day and got back to a room ready for our night. The breakfast area was well set up and met our needs as well.

I was very happy with this hotel stay - I had some reservations after reading some of the other reviews, so I checked in not expecting the best, but was definitely convinced otherwise. The laminate flooring was fantastic. The sheets were clean. The receptionist put us on the ground floor and the room was extremely quiet - hard to believe there were […] any other guests it was so quiet. Didn't notice any smoke smell - bonus where I'm concerned. Smitty's on site is a bonus too - staff very attentive there too. Finally, the continental breakfast - we've had one before at a 4 star hotel and were very disappointed, this is definitely not the case for this hotel. There was fresh juice, tea, coffee, toast, muffins, fruit, cereal, bagels - the best continental I've had. Thanks for a great stay - definitely recommend this hotel. Baca selanjutnya

it is easy to find, and convenient, the staff are very helpful and friendly. However the bathroom window does not have any protection, anyone can climb in from the alley.. I still say it is a good value for a small town!

Even though the hotel is in the Highway, I did not once hear any noise from it. There is an inter-leading door to the rooms that need a hotel key to open, so the security is higher than other place we stayed at. If you are a non-smoker, don't agree to stay don't eh second floor "non-smoking" rooms. The honk of smoke, however when I complained the staff […] explained that they have converted the rooms form smoking to non-smoking (without changing curtains and carpets obviously), and will move us to the first floor. There is no elevator, but only three floors. For the price it was great, it even included a continental breakfast. If you are passing through it is a great place to stay. Baca selanjutnya

Centrally located hotel, economical as well. Friendly , efficient staff on duty. Very nice continental breakfast in the lobby was a nice touch. On the down side was the fact that the hotel was obviously very old and could use a face lift. However it was certainly clean enough and a good bang for your buck.

Stayed 4 nights and didn't have any problems at all. No luxury but a great hotel with great large rooms with great beds. My american gps had no maps for Canada so I had to get some maps printed from the internet. The printer by the two guestcomuters at the hotel didn't work so the guy at the frontdesk asked me to mail them to him so he could print them […] for me. Great service. Another guy at the frontdesk went to the onsite restaurant to toast some bread for some waiting guests one morning when there were many at the breakfastbuffet at one time. Always helpfull!!! We picked this hotel as an overnight spot. The location on the highway coming in from Victoria was great- it was easy to find. The room was comfortable and had a fridge, but not a microwave. It wasn't a "flash" accomodation but it was clean and functional. The breakfast in the morning consisted of a selection of breads, or cereals etc as well as coffee […] and juice. We found the rooms small but was all we required for a 1 night stay. I really appreciated the internet on sight. The hotel was easy to find and also the food was good at the continental breakfast and the resteraunt. We would go again for an overnight stay.

Good day 1. Had a twenty minute wait to get checked in. 2. Morning desk staff watched us all during breakfast and as we were going back to the room she asked us if we were staying in the hotel. I thought this would be obvious as the wife,two kids and myself were in our sock feet. 3.The room was very clean and air worked fine but was really tiny as somebody […] had to sit on the bed for someone else to pass by. The room was very small, 2 double beds took much of the space. If one had to go to the door, the other had to get out of the way. The building is old and could use a good fix up. Positiv: das im gleichen Gebäude untergebrachte Pub schließt rechtzeitig. Negativ: die Wände sind etws hellhörig und der Zimernachbar war offenbar schwerhörig, jedenfalls lief nebenan die ganze Nacht TV. Positiv: die Lobby war die ganze Nacht besetzt und der manager on duty hat sich auf meine Klage hin den Zimmernachbarn auch ernsthaft vorgenommen - […] danach war Ruhe.
