Sheets were not clean, something questionable on bathroom wall, tub was fIlthy n staIned, kleenex box empty, floors uneven and weak in hallway, breakfast had no fruit, barely any coffee made, juice machine out of order, pool area not clean with wet towels on floor. no place to put used towels.

We were greeted very friendly by the front staff. She did note that we had booked third party and I dont know why that would make a difference. Room was not at all clean - fries under the edge of the bedspread first bed and a Burger King crown was up under the edge of the bedspread on second bed, air conditioner barely cooled the room - was musty and stuffy all nite. went in room used towel in bath room, coffee pot wasn't empty from previous person using room,didn't get clean towels had too ask for them.

Slept well.. musty smelling room and toilet runs all the time. little hot water the first day. Breakfast wasn't much. short on milk and waffle batter and juice. We will stay again, though...

Changing TV provider but unwilling to include major networks so could not enjoy local news, weather. Exercise equipment did not work and the breakfast provided was poor...toaster & microwave not working ..no fruit available. Will not stay here again

the pool was not operational, we were not notified of this until our arrival, for a non-refundable room.... also there were many crumbs under the edges of the bed, that my puppy had fun eating since we dont allow her to have people food. the room also smelled of smoke and was a designated non-smoking room, with no smoking signs everywhere, yet there […] was an ashtray on the dresser in the room. they advertised that they had cable, however, only about half the channels worked. overall not a great hotel.... This is one of the lower class Super 8 Hotels.

Hot tub was broken and the pool room was freezing cold. when asked to turn up the heat said there was no way to. 1 little bottle of shampoo for 4 people and only 3 small towels. one light didnt work and another didn't work and had a broken jagged bulb in it. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

When we checked in we found out that the hot tub was broken...and that was the only reason we did the hotel we did....then we found out our rooms were on two different floors when we called and asked for them to be ajoining or at least on the same floor..... I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this room.

When we checked in at 7:30pm, they were just cleaning the room. We stood outside of the room waiting for them to finish. The guy came out of the room and yelled at us, scaring my 9 and 11 year old children. We didn't have towels at all so had to request towels. The bed was hard and the pillows flat. The toilet was loud and howled for 5 minutes after […] you flushed it. The deadbolt did not work on the door at all. I brought this to the attention of the desk clerk, who laugh and said she'd "make a note of it." I will not return to or recommend this hotel. Cigarettes smell was strong in the hall, the hot tub was not working and breakfast was so –so. On the plus side the staff was very nice.

Our room did not look anything like any of the pictures I had seen and The whole hotel was run down and shabby. The pool and the hot tub were out of service and the stay was worth no more than $20. I will never be staying there again.

The Super 8 in Ankeny had great service and was very clean but the maintenance of the room was something to be desired. When I first entered the room and I went to turn on the light nothing came on. Also the stopper in the sink didn't work at all and I just physically pulled it out.

Good for the price, however the breakfast was only cereal, toast, or a waffle. Mpst other similar hotels have a bit more for the morning breakfast.

The gal at the check in counter was very helpful. It is a very accessible location and easy to get to off of the freeway with great eating and shopping places nearby.

smoking hotel, very smelly. pool was closed & we were not informed @ check in of this. bathroom was very stinky too.

The hotel itself was a little run down and nothing special. The people at the hotel were just as you would expect- doing their job, but friendly. The entire hotel had a bit of a musty smell. But since we were there under a tornado warning, it had been raining on and off for months and we didn't die, we figured we did alright!

Staff was not friendly at all. The pool closes at 9 pm and we were told to be really quite because an elderly couple was staying in the room next to the pool. Room was clean but the breakfast was horrible.

Basically, this was a good room for the price, that I paid thru expedia. The Motels website wanted twice the price and I would have not stayed there for that. The room was clean, but everything was worn out - especially the bed. There has been no money spent on repairs or upkeep. I travel a lot and it was obvious to me that mgt had decided to keep their […] money and not reinvest it into the property. The breakfast bar was good and fresh and everything was clean.
