The staff is friendly, service is excellent and rooms are clean! Great location right in the middle of Petaling street in Chinatown. You can walk to the train station Pasar Seni in less than 5 minutes. We had a room on floor 3 towards Petaling street but never heard the market below. However, the walls towards the corridor are very thin... Only remark was that there was small holes in the sheets and that a towel smelled bad. I'm sure that they would have fixed it if we would have asked though. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is in the heart of the shopping district, so close to all the shopping malls. Great service from the concierge desk and bell boys. Average service from the reception staff. My room had seen better days. This is a no frills hotel. Great Japanese restaurant called Kaihomaru on the ground floor - excellent food and service.
"good location but hotel isn't well-maintained"
You can tell that it used to be a good hotel once upon a time but not so much anymore.. we asked for a non-smoking double room.. got a room with two single beds which constantly got cigarette smoke from the adjoining rooms through the air-conditioning vents. any time called front desk, phone either not picked up or else was promised to be put thru to […] duty manager which never happened.. going downstairs to talk didn't help either as there was a permanently long queue at the counters. Rooms weren't very clean either with stains in the carpet and just a very decrepit look altogether.. the beds and sheets were good tho. "Fading glory"
The location is good, and the doormen who looked after my suitcases were great. But for the rest, this once very good hotel is fading. I asked for a non-smoking room, but there were cigarette butts floating in the toilet bowl when I moved in. There were packets of coffee and tea bags available, but no way to heat water. "Close to everything"
The hotel was a very nice experience with a good location. The only thing we notice was that we couldn't adjust the flow of air in the room. It was to cold so you woke up in the middle of the night because you where to cold.
Warmly greeted by the friendly staff who quickly checked us in into our room in no time. The room is unexpectedly clean and huge. Every days the housekeepers kept it neat and tidy for us. We(my husband and I) had a good time in federal hotel kuala lampur.the staff were friendly.we enjoyed having delicious breakfast in all 4 days that we stayed there.just 2 min walk to IMBI monorail station and closed to all shopping centre in Bukit bintang street. don't miss very good restaurants around the hotel.
