We stay here when we drive up late from the bay area and want to crash before skiing the next morning. For this purpose, the Inn at Truckee is fine. Not that nice, but clean and pretty decent price. Great location right off the highway makes getting to it, and from it to the slopes, very convenient.

The room was clean and the front desk was nice and helpful. Breakfast was very basic with juice,coffee, hot water for hot chocolate or instant oatmeal. They had a few bagels, small basic sweet rolls and small oranges. It was nothing fancy, but it served it's basic purpose of a clean room and good service.

Small but nice, close to shopping and town. Staff was very friendly. Free breakfast consist of cupcakes , doughnuts, coffee , tea. Room needs better furnature, Hotel needs to be upgraded w/ good interior decoration job to compete w/ larger hotel chains. The stay was comfortable however you can hear people walking upstairs. Truckee in was a great location but the down side is the noise from the freeway. It was quite loud at night , but overall good price and location

Great place to stay if you just need a place to sleep and a convenient drive to Squaw Valley. Breakfast was good. Simple but with enough variety to please all. Suggest doing away with all the paper goods and get some real cups and silverware. So much better for the environment! All in all, a bargain.

Stayed here overnight and it was a great place to stay. Right off the I-80 so you'd expect a lot of noise but it was surprisingly quiet. Service was great!

The Inn was close to the freeway and easy to find. There were stores and restaurants within walking distance. My kids enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The only criticism I have is that the front desk closes at 10, and though my children arrived earlier in a separate car, my husband and I were stuck in snow and did not arrive until midnight. The hotel was locked, so I had to wake up one of my kids to let us in. Not only that, but the front desk kept calling the rooms and asking my kids when we were arriving so that we could sign papers before they closed, which caused my kids to worry and added to my stress. not clean, worn down, dingy. suggested only for a quick sleepover. room smelled very strongly like perfume, like it had been freshened up after smokers or something. tried to change rooms right away, was told that I "paid somebody else" and thus they could not change the room...

This was a great cheap sleep for a ski night. I would definitely come again. My only concern is the black mold on the bathroom ceiling--not healthy! I mentioned it to staff on checkout, and she was very concerned and receptive. Hopefully it was just our room and will be eradicated.

The hotel is rundown, the tub had some sort of repair to it that made it look nasty. The shower head was all over the place and made it hard to rinse my hair. The place just felt dirty.

I have stayed at this hotel several other times. Usually the place is very clean and the staff very helpful. Not so clean or accomodating this time, felt like a 2 star facility.

my friends and I stayed here for the Presidents' Birthdays 3-day weekend in February 2012. what I liked about this place: very polite, helpful and friendly staff, good location close to shops, clean, easy on-off the freeway, free wi-fi that worked well, ample parking, in-room small fridge, pretty comfy double bed, and an on-site sauna and jacuzzi. don't […] forget the bathing suit! some things we didn't like so much: no coffee maker or microwave oven in the room. you have to go to the lobby to use the MW. it was a very cheap low-wattage kind that took a long time to make things hot. there was coffee, teas, and hot water 24/7 but you had to go to the lobby to get them too. only a continental breakfast was offered. it was OK but nothing that would prepare you for an active morning at the ski resorts. the lobby is small and got very crowded in the morning. my friends, a couple, shared a double bed and said the bed felt too small. and there was no closet! just a rack hanging on the wall near my bed. the TV was inside a cabinet and could not be turned. the room was rather small and felt even smaller with 3 adults walking around. all in all, I would stay here again because I liked the price and the location. there was a shopping center close by that you could walk to instead of driving. I have stayed at 2 other hotels in Truckee that I sort of preferred because of their delicious hot breakfasts, comfy queen beds, spacious rooms, and in-room microwave and coffee maker. are those comforts worth paying $50 or more for? I thought so. but it's better to have a so-so room in Truckee on a ski weekend than no room at all, or worse, one of those ultra-cheap dirty dives in Kings Beach! Baca selanjutnya

Very convent nice staff close to food and stores

Convenient, close to shops and an easy 15-20 minute drive to Northstar. Staff was friendly. Walls are thin. I couldn't get the heat to stay on automatically so I would turn it on for a while, then shut it off. The bathroom was clean however, the hotel showed wear such as hallway carpets. This hotel is nice and clean. But it has some disadvanges like no hairdryer in the room and no elevators if you are in 2nd floor with lots ski equipments and luggages, or when you were injured by skiing accident... But they have walking distance to drug stores and fast food restaurants for breakfasts. Staffs are nice and friendly. Easy to check in and […] check out. there is no elevator and the stairway rugs stunk, no hairdryers, limited breakfast available, desk did not check or replace breakfast items, she was on the phone to a friend or family member the entire time

Rooms needs some maintenance ( our bathroom was leaking and somewhat moldy) but the cleaning crew was outstanding, the place was very quiet despite being so close to the highway... breakfast was continental but very decent... you have starbucks, safeway and other places if you want extra food. Definitely recommend to ski in the north tahoe area..

Lots of traffic noise.

I don't know if I would want to stay here during the winter. The shower went from scalding hot to ice cold each time we showered, and sometimes had no water at all. The beds were supper comfy, and the staff was very friendly. Overall had a great stay!

We stayed here the night before the Norcal Tough Mudder. Very courteous staff, hotel is a little dated, but for the price, you can't beat it. It actually exeeded my expectations. If all you need is just a place to lay your head for the night, then this is for you. About a 10 min drive to Squaw Valley.

Basic hotel, but better than the average hotel. Good location because it's on a dead end street so there isn't a lot of traffic. Furthermore, it's not too close nor too far from any of the surrounding attractions and busy areas also. I would stay here again and recomend it. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was the wonderfull smell of the outdoors- clean fresh Pine !!! Being semi handicaped I was able to park with -in 50' of our room and they were accomodating to my needs by finding a bottom floor room - unable to climb stairs more than once a day !!!!! the perfect inn in every way except the location----too far away from main part of town--one to two miles. had to taxi.

Can't beat the location off of the main highway. Close to eateries, grocery store, and drug store. Rooms were small, and very small bathroom. we enjoyed the respite on our way to the coast, it was very nice to have a hot tub. the pillows were not the best but we managed fine.

I go skiing to the Lake Tahoe area 4-5 times a year, but I have never used this hotel. This time in early July I stayed at the Inn of Truckee for one night with my daughter. The accommodation is average in space, cleanness, comfort, etc. The only caveat was the traffic noise from the Interstate 80 as the hotel stands next to the free way. But it was […] at a very acceptable level as long as the window was closed (and we did not need to open it). Free Wifi and simple continental breakfast were convenient. This is a 2-star hotel so don't expect luxurious accommodations, but it is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is a little nicer than in most hotels similar class, and the front desk staff was excellent. We asked for an early check in so we could attend an event that afternoon and they accommodated our request on a busy holiday weekend. Really good, inexpensive hotel with easy access to Squaw, Northstar (and all other skiing resorts in the area) and the lake. Staff was exceptional, rooms were clean, and it was a pleasant stay. Carpet was a bit old and worn, but I would definitely recommend staying here.

Really don't have anything bad to say except it is right next to the freeway so there is a lot of roadside noise when trying to sleep.

The hotel was great, convienently located to some restaurants. The staff was friendly. We will stay there again next year over Memorial Day weekend.

The Inn at Truckee is a good basic, clean, motel-quality accomodation. Do NOT expect anything fancy. IMPORTANT: you MUST call hotel directly to reserve a room with internet access, most fooms do NOT have it - this is what the front desk told me! The room was simple and basic; we stayed in Double queen beds room, and the beds were okay. We wished we had more pillows. I read all the reviews - good and not so good - before I arrived - and was pleasantly surprised. This is not luxury, but it is a comfortable, clean and friendly hotel, at at great price for a Tahoe ski weekend. Bonuses are the included breakfast, spa and sauna, and discounted lift passes.

Reasonable hotel with clean rooms. Spa and Sauna are nice addition after a hard day of skiing. Close to several ski resorts like Squaw/Northstar. Can get noisy in night on side towards highway - ask for rooms on other side.

Was in town for business, just a few days. Had a great and pleasant experience. would definitely stay there again. What a bargain! not expensive, but really nice.

My son and I stayed here while we were hitting the various ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area. Just stayed one night but the hotel and staff were excellent. Can't beat the price and there is an excellent Italian restaurant in the shopping center across the street.
