I was going to an exam in the nearby hospital so location was perfect for that, it was also really close to the motorway as I drove from Manchester. You get what you pay for, next time I will pay more for somewhere else. As soon as we entered the room we could smell cigarette smoke, stronger in the en-suite. For hours we had a pipes clanking and banging noise from the walls of our room. You could hear every door opened and every footstep along the corridors. Not the hotels fault, I know, but at 2am we were woken by a crazy woman banging on a room door, shouting for access, she went down to the reception banging every corridor door, got them to ring the room..which rang and rang...it went on for about an hour, I guess for the money paid thats what you can expect. I had booked two double rooms for my husband, myself and two friends and although the rooms were very nice the fact that there were two people in each room there was only one chair in each room. We use budget hotels quite often and Ibis Preston North is convenient for our needs. We have stayed twice now. The only real disappointment is the bar area. It is rather soulless and the drinks selection is extremely limited.
