Avalon Lodge - Tasik Tahoe Utara

Everything about it was fabulous. Location was quiet and easy to get to everything. Walking distance to beach, casinos, and resort center. The staff was very friendly, bed and shower were fantastic. Could not have asked for anything more!

I want to remodel my bathrooms to look like theirs - beautiful. My only complaints are there aren't any lamps and the pillows in our room were flat; they weren't in our friends room. Very clean. I'm always scared that the previous reviewers don't have as high standards of cleanliness that I do, but it was very clean. The Avalon lodge is a very cozy and comfortable place to stay when visiting Tahoe. They allow dogs, which is great. They have a jacuzzi and the rooms are pretty darn nice. We've stayed there twice and been happy both times.

This is our second time staying at the Avalon Lodge. It has recently been upgraded and the place is very nice. Everything is very clean and modern. The rooms are very clean, updated and comfortable. The fridge, microwave, and fireplace are a plus. The only concerns we had with this hotel were the noise upstairs and the fact that they called the expired yogurt and crockpot oatmeal "breakfast". We are not a picky family, however, we did not touch the so called breakfast the second day.

I stayed there for two nights. The room was all renovated. Bath room was nice. Mattress was comfort. People at the front desk were friendly. The location was great. Everything was great except three things. 1. Breakfast nook was really small and not tasty. There were ONLY yogurt, a cup of strawberry, cereal, oatmeal, milk, juice, and coffee. We ended […] up going out for breakfast. It would have been better if they provided bagel and bread. 2. We stayed on the first floor. The building itself was old. So, it was quite noisy at night. I recommend this hotel if you can get the room at the second floor. 3. Parking lot was so small. There are only 3 spots for SUV. This hotel seems like an old motel that has been renovated. The room was pretty nice. The bathroom had a pocket door which seemed odd but was ok. I would stay here again if the room rate was a little cheaper.

The Avalon Lodge is in a pretty good location. It is close to the main street, the Nevada border, and the lake. The staff is really friendly, and offer free bike rentals, (there are 2 bikes that loaned out on a first come first served basis) as well as a pass to the beach. The walls are paper thin and I could hear every noise from the neighboring rooms. […] One night the people below my room started a party at 10pm. I was livid, but when I told the people at the front desk, they took care of the problem right away, and I was able to go to sleep. Everything was great about the room. We stayed in the King size one. The decor is nice inside, however there could be more lighting throughout the room. The shower is nice and different because of how they built it. Only downfall is that the toilet was loose or unleveled so everytime i sat on it it rocked! staff is friendly as well. Heads up that the […] hotel doesnt offer any speacials for honeymooners, which was why i went. the hotel is located off of the strip and close to everything! the beach is down the street where you can rent boats and jetskis for a good price. there is also a place to eat on the beach located down the street. if you are looking to get married there os an arch as well at the beach. i would recommend staying at this hotel if you are there for a quick vacay. the deal i got was good as well, buy one night get the second free!! This place is good and bad. The beds are great, the shower is slate and wonderful. The towels were big and fluffy. So why was there a big deal out of giving us extra glasses and more toilet paper? It was warm and they don't have air conditioning. We either had to leave the windows open and deal with people talking outside, or close them and use the […] fan to try to stay cool. They did have a fireplace and flat screen TV. The complementary breakfast was good on the fresh fruit side and bad on the cereal side. The location was excellent for Nevada gaming, the gondola, and shopping. They allow pets. It left me wondering if the carpet was clean. They also woke me up a few times. Walls were thin and crying children woke me up. Lake Tahoe is a wonderful vacation destination. Maybe the motel isn't as important as the lake itself. It's hard to rate it. Lodge very well located. Rooms upgraded. Pets allowed. Negative side was the noise from upstairs guests walking on floor and walkway. No rest after 6:30am. For this reason would not stay again.

The Avalon is located a convenient walking distance between the waterfront and shopping areas. The hosts were very helpful and made us feel comfortable. The building itself is a bit 'rustic' being a renovated older hotel. Our room was large and clean but a bit on the 'dark' side (needs better room lighting to cheer the place up). Situated in the pines, 2 blocks from Stateline(casinos) and Heavenly(gondola and shopping) it is a quiet hideaway. Newly renovated rooms are quiet, comfortable, spacious with new tile, carpet, furniture, heater/fireplace which we used in June!! plus numerous amenities. They have done some very nice upgrades to this hotel! All slate rock showers and new carpet throughout the room! New paint makes the room look modern and cozy! Down comforters on the bed and even an Iphone docking station for the alram clock! We also had a fireplace in our room! The building is small and older, but they have made some really nice upgrades and features that give a very comfortable and contemporary feel. Hot spiced wine (available in lobby each evening) and a hot tub are perfect way to end a day in the snow. Bed was super comfortable, shower super hot and nice. granted that they are under new ownership as of Jan 01, 2011 but they should have waited until they were ready. Check-in was fine. It was the rooms that needed a lot of work. They had given us a room that han not been remodeled. The first issue was that the TV did not work, the second issue was that the bathroom door did not close and the list keeps […] on going. The thermostat was not working properly. When you set it to 70 degrees in was actually 85 degrees and to cool the room down you have to open the door as they had no air conditioner.
