Alexander Palms Court - Key West

This is a nice place to stay. The facilities are a cross between a 1950s motel and a bed and breakfast. It is quaint and enjoyable, but it does need a little bit of a facelift. The service is very good and the continental breakfast enjoyable. The staff are really great. I came to Key West alone, as I do every year for some head control. This is my first stay at APC and it was excellent. The room was small, but it mattered little to me. This was the perfect hotel for us for our getaway. It is a quaint hotel and very fitting for Key West. The pool was very nice and very relaxing. I was immediately smitten with the charm and character of the pool area - buildings painted in bright colors and lots of palm trees and flowers with a beautiful saltwater pool in the center. We really enjoyed our stay here at Alexander Palms Court. From our first impression, we knew we had made the right choice! In the office, we were greeted with a warm smile by Landon. He was quite the Conch! He gave us numerous recommendations for who/what/when/where to visit. The pool area was very nice and relaxing. The water was wonderful after walking […] Duval St all day. In the evening the pool was very peaceful, and the lighting was wonderful. We found that the room was definitely cozy. The floors were terrazzo with lustrous shine (be careful if the floor gets wet, very slippery). Bathroom was small but very usable, typical for a 1950's style room. Location was quiet, and peaceful. It is a long walk to the busy end of Duval St. and Mallory Square. My only regret is that we didn't stay another night, driving down from St Petersburg, (7.5hrs) we lost valuable relaxation time. When we checked in, we got an excellent recommendation on local beaches. They also supplied a map. Loved the small, family feel of the property. The setup of the hotel was great- a few rooms surrounding an awesome pool. Such a relaxing atmosphere! Had everything we needed, from pool floats and towels, to a mini-kitchen. Overall, loved it!

I spent one night here with a friend for her birthday, and we had a great time! This is a very cute and quaint hotel located just a couple blocks off of Duval Street, though at the opposite end of all the action. Breakfast is decent - fruit, coffee, bagels - and is served poolside. If you are looking for a luxury resort, this isn't the place for you. A friend and I just decided to have a quick vacation in Key West and we stayed at this hotel. The staff was beyond friendly and the hotel was very comfortable. It is especially good for extended vacations. Comes with TV and cable, the pool is great and there is continental breakfast. It is very laid back and was extremely content with everything.

My wife and I were very pleased with Alexander Court right from the beginning. The host was knowledgeable, kind and a bit of fun. Our room was more then we could have ask for. I would recommend Alexander Court to any one that wants to get a way for a quite stay, to bond and relex befor going out on the town. Not for kids though.

This is my hotel of the year. Nothing fancy, no pretense, but a charming and thoughtful approach to hospitality. My room had a kitchenette, which I wasn't expecting, and a mini patio. Very quaint, private and beautifully decorated with palms and other trees. The heated pool was comforting and clean. Room was more than we expected with many of the comforts of home. A larger newer TV would have been nice, but other than that, we loved the room. We will go to Key West again next summer and we hope to stay here again.

If your looking at the pictures of this hotel, remember those are the more exspensive rooms. The room you will book on a deal has overgrown plants touching your door on a pathway thats like 2ft wide oh and did I mention your door swings out into the jungle mess and if you come back at night or want to go out to smoke there are 1ft lizards not iguanas […] lizards runnig along the privacey fence in the back add a dumpster back there and it would be the perfect alley in a bad neighborhood. our room was small and ok french doors with one window with an airconditioner in it. The room was adjoing to another room which you could see the light on all the time and hear people talking and their T.V. on . No private outside seating area, the guest around the pool area have private seating by their doors and large round tables, which most of the rooms were rented by famlies and they thought the tables were their private tables for breakfast and so on, so my husband and I had to sit on wet lounge chairs to have coffee and a smoke in the morning. The breakfast was good the first day till I noticed it was the same tray of bagels and english muffins served over and over and yes the same ones not bought new in the same flavors the same exact ones, until the day we were checking out and then they had to buy more because there wasnt enough left on the tray for everyone. Me, my wife and my son (1 year and a half) passed 2 days in this hotel. The location is great, no car needed to enjoy the main street and you can go walking to Mallory Sq (about 25 min on foot). this is a quirky little hotel in the middle of Key West. Pros: staff is nice and welcoming, the rooms are all ground floor surrounding the pool, creating a nice community atmosphere (while I was there, most people gathered in or by the pool to watch the stars at night and chat). the hotel is a couple minutes walk from Duvall and 20mns walk from Mallory […] Sq which means easy access but quiet nights! cons: the rooms are dated and not super comfy, you can hear everything that's going on outside your door. The hotel generally was nice. There were even some dishes we could used in the cupboards. The major defect of this place: ants. There were ants in the kitchen, closet and bathroom. Little traps were set out to either catch them or poison them, but it wasn't enough. The room needed to be fumigated and resealed. We stayed in room #8. Hotel room is outdated, worn out, fridge is covered with rust, room is so small that you start feeling claustrofobic. Location is OK for family trip - away from busy streets, but not too far. Continental breakfast consists of bagels, english muffins, 4 bananas (literaly 4 for the entire hotel) and some oranges. For the price and prior Keys experience, this hotel was nice and simple with that perfect small and quaint feel. Fully furnished kitchenettes with mini stove would be perfect for long stays. It has that old motel/hotel feel with small sink and tubs but unless your paying for a Mariott or wanting more modern look and features than get a hotel at the […] east end of Key West(non old town). Its that or be ready to seriously dish out some cash. Minutes from Southernmost Point, quick walk to small grocery store, and Duval. Bike rental right nearby and beach is just south (2 to 4 blocks). If your the type to spend more time in a hotel than enjoying the surroundings then the TV will disappoint (17 to 19 inch) The bed is okay, but sleeping in a waterbed for over 10 years it is hard for me to judge. They have a morning complimentary breakfast (bagel, orange, banana, and coffee). I would not plan your stay around it. It was something to be desired. Well it looked good online but when we got there, it was a tiny room with a window unit. We thought we found a bed bug but there was only one so I'm not sure what it was. The shower was really small and had no place to put soap. We had to reach out of the shower and grab shampoo and soap from the sink. The room was nice, had a small efficency kitchen and comfortable bed. The shower was small but the water hot. The location was great. We have stayed numerous times in Key West, and this was close to walk to Duval but far enough away to be quiet. One thing that concerned me was that the gate that was locked in the evening was also locked from the inside!! […] You had to have a key to get out, not to safe in my opinion. We loved our stay at this hotel; the location was great, the service was excellent, and the rooms were exceedingly clean. It is trying to be environmentally friendly, so some amenities are not available, but for the price? Fantastic. Our room was upgraded to a suite, and we enjoyed our time there tremendously.

We attended that "Duval Uncorked" Food and Wine Festival (also recommended!) and were looking for a cheap place for 1 night. We were pleasantly surprised! We were greeted by the manager, who check us in and gave us maps, "must do" activities, and told us all the ins-and-outs of Key West. The room was very clean, but a little noisy given it's right off […] the street. If you're looking for a luxurious hotel, this isn't it...but if you're looking for a comfortable, clean, friendly place for a weekend trip...I highly recommend. Our room even had a fully furnished kitchen which would have been great if we were staying longer. Also, there is parking right out front...which is priceless in Key West.
