When I checked in they told us the only room available was on the 9th floor but there was a banquet going on and may be noisy, so they would give me breakfast for any I inconvienance - I had paid for a deluxe corner king and the they gave me a traditional, which had a price difference and when we looked out the window, we were looking at another building! […] They were not very willing to admit the wrong doing and were trying to find ways to cover it up... My husband and I stay in NYC once a month for dinner/show etc. this is the second time we had stayed in the Westin times square. The hotel is nice but nothing special. Clean but not brand new. We feel as though for the price and location it works out good for us. We have stayed in other Westin hotels that were nicer but for the price and convienance […] this hotel works for us. Enjoyed our stay! Had a pre-show meal at Shula's Restaurant in the hotel. Highly recommend the Crab Cake!. Had a post-show drink at Bar 10 located in the hotel. Only complaint was that there wasn't any Jaegermiester there! Nor Malibu Rum BUT the bartender whipped up a tasty concoction for me! We stayed for just one night at the Westin and it was excellent. Brilliant location just off Times Square with loads of shops and shows nearby. Very modern and functional. Annoyingly you still have to pay for Wifi access which is free in the local Starbucks! But apart from that a great convenient and very comfortable hotel.

The room and bath were large, and well kept. The lobby was very active, with a lot of seating. Shula's food was excellant, but expensive for breakfast. My bill showed up with a $59 charge for parking, but we did not have a car. It was corrected, when I called the desk. I would assume this is a problem that happens frequently. Great experience from the minute we walked in! Hector at front desk got us an excellent room with a beautiful view and get this....2 1/2 hrs before check-in! What a great start for a quick get away! Great location for tourist, clean nice size room (we had 2 double deluxe) Only room downfall is the lighting which is not a deal breaker for me and I love […] alot of light. Enough lighting in bathroom for us ladies to do our primping! Did not eat or drink in hotel so cant comment either way Also use their valet parking, they publish a rate which is higher than it actually is. Rooms were spacious and clean. Location was central to business meetings that I needed to attend. Room decor was updated nicely. It met my expectations

The Westin was a very nice hotel, very conveniently located between 7th and 8th avenues lass than 100m from Times Square and within walking distance of all midtown attractions and shopping. Very close to starting points of Greyline bus tours and to the theatres (get discount tickets at the TKTS outlet in South Seaport, no queues and the tickets are […] released here first, it is also very close to an Abercrombie store that is really badly signed but is much quieter than the store uptown). The room itself was very spacious even by normal non-NYC standards. Full sized bath and stand in shower with a double head (heaven) and plenty of places to leave washbags, bottles, etc. in the bathroom. Huge king sized bed with really nice linen, big flat screen TV, luggage rack, desk, two bedside tables, armchair and plenty of wardrobe space. Great nights sleep every night because of the comfort of the bed, the black-out blind and the surprising quietness of the room due to the very soundproof windows, though we were facing one of the back streets as opposed to 8th avenue/ 42nd street so cant comment on the sound levels in those rooms. 4 lifts so never had to wait more than a minute. One annoying point was the reception staff. One in paricular who couldn't have been any slower or less interested in guests...or maybe it was just guests who weren't Starwood preferred guests....not sure. Creditcard wouldn't work at check in even though I knew full well that it worked because it was actually in credit. Tried it in a restaurant less than an hour later and in every other shop and restaurant and shop I visited and hey presto....it worked every time. I went back to the front desk to get back my $150 cash deposit once I knew the card was ok and the same receptionist took about 15 minutes to do this simple operation giving excuses about two computer systems etc. etc. Her pasion should be improving the quality of service she gives to guests instead of her daughter (you know who you are!) I like staying at Westin properties because I can be assured of a nice atmosphere and comfortable beds. This property was no exception in those regards BUT the bathroom was horrible for getting ready. There was NO counter space and the lighting could not have been worse. Had a quick holiday weekend in New York. This was our first visit and the service at the hotel from the front desk to the lounge to the cleaning staff to the bellmen exceeded expectations. Very close to everything you would want to see. One concern was the lack of security at the hotel. It was not that we did not feel safe, but there were a lot of […] people in the lobby at all times that were obviously coming off the street and using the bathroom or sleeping on the couches. The staff was super friendly. The desk clerk gave us a terrific view of Times Square from the 39th floor. Great time !

I will never understand why a hotel does not allow guests to check-in who arrive 30mins early which was 2:30pm especially when they had plenty of rooms vacant!!! because of their rudeness and stupidness to please the customer i will never stay here again. The rooms were soso!!!

Took my daughter to celebrate her 16th birthday -Great hotel and staff, within walking distance to all sights, shops and broadway shows. Would definitely stay at this hotel again if in the area.

Nothing bad to say about this hotel. Room was nice, good size by NYC standards. I had a very nice view from my room. The shower was excellent. The bed and linens were comfortable. Location is excellent, easy access to the Times square area and public transportation. It is pricey but not out of line for a hotel this nice in midtown.

the hotel appeared to be charging twice - the room had been prepaid online and they tried to charge again, it took nearly two hours to sort out, the staff member was unhelpful and disappeared to back office for long periods and was unable to deal with it adequately, she was unprofessional in leaving us waiting for so long and generally how she dealt […] with it. i would not stay at this hotel purely on the basis of unhelpful desk staff which marred our short visit to this hotel. Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Super location, instant walk to Times Square, easy walk to theaters.

For the price I paid, I expected a little fancier room, even in NY. Great location. Try the Hell's Kitchen area of NY for dinner, just west of the hotel. Better than getting caught up in the Times Square crowds.

I would never choose to stay in a "major hotel chain," but had no choice as the NYC marathon was on and rooms (at a reasonable price) were difficult to find. I was pleasantly surprised by the Westin. Steps away from all the Broadway shows. My room - on the 17th floor - was a quiet oasis. Absolutely no noise from my neighbours or the street below - unless […] I opened a window! Fabulous location! Atrium rooms are on floors 8-11 so no great view of the city. Room was quiet and very spacious. Housekeeping kept forgetting to leave us fresh towels after cleaning the room. The hotel was very accomodating for us we were within walking distance from where we needed to go. The hotel staff were very nice and polite and informative.

I brought my niece for her first time visit to NY, NY to see the Lion King - she was happy with that but her eyes twinkled when she saw the double-headed shower and she was one happy little girl with the 'heavenly bed." Thanks for the memories! and the best sleep I've had in a long, long time.

We just had a three night stay at the Westin in Times Square over the Columbus Day long weekend. Overall, a fine place. We had a roomy junior suite (my wife, our 15 y/o daughter and I) and almost everything was fine. The main bed was comfy, all the amenities were great. However, the pull-out sofa that my daughter slept in was bowed in the center, literally […] a deep pit in the bed/mattress that made sleeping uncomfortable. We asked if they could something to remedy this, and they said they did, but if they did do anything, it was quite unnoticeable, and it made it difficult for my daughter to enjoy the room. The only other glitch is that check-in was slow because the front desk seemed understaffed. But otherwise, no complaints. The location is excellent, the cleaning and setup was excellent, the building is very secure, the room was stylish and had a great view. For the most part, this is a very good hotel. This hotel is great if you have theatre tickets -- a prime location. But the service is terrible. I called Express Service several times and waited through a dozen or more rings. Asked for a bellman, but he never appeared. Doormen ignored me as I dragged in my own luggage. If you want to plug in your computer, you need to get on your knees under the […] desk to do it. We arrived after taking a cab from Penn Station, and were pleasantly and promptly greeted by the bellman. We requested a room on a higher floor, and were given a room on the 42nd floor where the views were spectacular. This was my second stay here. The bedding was exquisite. Stayed here for a friend's birthday...she lives in New York but we wanted to be near all of the attractions. The hotel was amazing. Service was great (there was a booking mistake where they booked one bed instead of two, and they took care of it right away). MAYBE THIS HOTEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE 1960 RETRO SHEIK... BUT I DIDNT LIKE THE DECOR. VERY OLD... THE FIRST ROOM WE WERE IN, THE AC WAS EXTREMELY LOUD. WE HAD TO MOVE TO ANOTHER ROOM. THE "SPA" ROOM Was just as small as the rest except they put a huge massage chair in it...otherwise, the location fit our needs and you had to do valet parking....

We've stayed at the Westin in Times Square before and, as usual, were pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel (which we don't take for granted) and with the fact that they keep the hotel updated. It is truly a great location as we woke up on Sunday to a great street fair outside the door and a gourmet shop to get our coffee. 1 min to underground, 1 min to bus terminal, 1 min to Time Square... the Atrium club offer includes food and snacks around the clock, well worth it I find

My wife, daughter and I had a very enjoyable six day stay in mid August. We stayed on the 37th floor and our room had a Times Square outlook and was clean and of a good size for our needs. The check in process was very straight forward (as was the checkout). We were flying out following our stay and the ability to use the business facility near the […] concierge was valued in that we could register online for our flights and print out boarding cards free of charge. We found a little gold mine in the Westway Diner on 9th Avenue (only a block or two away from the hotel) where we went for breakfast - good food and great service - used by the local constabulary which is always a good sign! Stayed in the Atrium Club. The hotel didn't inform us that the lobby for the Atrium Club was under construction and that workers would start their electric saws at 7:00 a.m. These rooms should provide black out shades. The flashing lights from Times Square are not blocked out at night. Front desk staff was very average. Breakfast in the Atrium Club […] was very good; however, one of the cappucino machines was broken for 3 of the 4 days we were there. The TV's on the treadmills and ellipticals do not function well.
