The place is so beautiful, the rooftop pool is a little oasis, and you get to use the other pools, hot tub, and beach chairs at Los Arcos. It is an amazing location, near the beach and in the old downtown. Great location, 2 blocks from Playa Los Muertos, and very friendly, professional, and helpful staff. The courtyard is kind of cool with trees growing up thru the middle. However, the sound travels up thru the courtyard. Also the first room I had was really small - the bed hit the door - and neither the phone nor the safe worked. So I asked for a different […] room and they took care of it right away, and I got upgraded to a bigger, quieter room at no extra charge! There are a few rooms with balconies for a few dollars more. Very cute hotel on the outside. On a side street so it is quiet however we requested a high floor and was put into a room almost in the lobby. Room had stale smell. Lock on the safe was broken and we needed to wait around for a hour for the handyman.Wouldnt want to stay here for more than 1 night.

The hotel is on a quiet street about 1 1/2 blocks from the beach and about 2 blocks from the Malecon. There is a nice restaurant out the door and to the left which serves very good food with large portions at a reasonable price. I was here 3 years ago and loved it. I was much more disappointed this time. The telephone did not work, the shower door would not close ( I actually had to get a rock from the beach to hold it closed). We asked the front desk to repair the door and were ignored. The internet did not work and they said they did not know what was wrong. Problem was strength […] of the signal was coming from their sister hotel Playa Los Arcos and did not reach us. Although I was very disappointed that the front desk staff did not try to correct things, I still like the location very much. The rooms are also quiet, air conditioning worked fine and the rooftop pool is great. Also convenience of parking and access to your car are very good. We really enjoyed our recent stay at the hotel. The service was fantastic and the food was good. I say this keeping in mind the price I paid for 2 people for an all inclusive. The staff was excellent food was good and location is great. it is not a 5 start hotel but we sure loved it.

Hotel Dona Susana- a block from the beach, great staff, private pool, very clean room and bathroom. Recommend it it to everyone! Was very satisfied overall.

The employees are nice but the hotel is not that good. The price was too much.

If you're going to Puerto Vallarta you can do one of three things... stay with a friend if you have one that lives there...stay in the Americanized tourist resort locations and pay through your nose... or get a real taste of PV and stay at Casa Dona Susana...clean rooms, great location, great service, great rooftop patio, walk to anything. Love the rooftop pool area and the close proximity to the beach and shopping ... and restaurants. Love that this hotel is connected to Las Arcos and so we can use the beach and pool area no charge. Friendly, caring staff. Coffee pot died and had replacement within 10 minutes of the call to front desk.

I booked this hotel for only 2 nights in order to see if it would work out for me. I stayed a total of 7 nights!! If you want to avoid kids, the constant selling of the beach, and still be close to everything, this is the place for you. Housekeeping & front desk were friendly and good (Gracias Ronnie!). Some rooms have a kitchen. My room had a fridge only, which was perfect for ice, beer, cheese, and munchies! PV is very gay friendly. This hotel is located practically in the heart of the PV gayborhood. That means beware of the overpriced, but beautifully decorated restuarants & shops. Walk away from the beach for better food at a more reasonable price. There's a great taco place around the corner and a bar (TexMex) a few doors from it. [I did run into a couple who had the all inclusive bracelet - they thought it was great for those on a budget. It gave them free beverages (incl beer) & food at the restuarant in Playa Los Arcos (the sister hotel)] With this hotel, you get a card to use the pool & beach access (complete with umbrella & chaise) at the sister hotel across the street. PROS: location, rooftop pool, pool/beach access at sister hotel, great front desk, ac, clean, good security, in the gayborhood. CONS: Wifi only in the open air lobby! Located in the heart of the Zona Romantica within walking distance of everything...ocean, Malecon, restaurants and history. The rooftop pool is great, it is an adult only hotel, amenities are shared with the "sister" Los Arcos Hotel and Los Arcos Suites both across the street. The staff treated us very well upon checkin and during our entire stay, but the desk clerk at checkout was not very helpful and refused to provide us a copy of our hotel bill. i highly suggest staying at Casa Dona Susana; part of the "Los Arcos" hotel family. The main Los Arcos (Spa & Hotel) is directly on the cement boardwalk and beach; Dona Susana is one block away. You can use the pool and beach chairs/umbrellas from the main hotel, and the main hotel is also where you get your towels (after being issued "towel cards"). […] It's easily half the price of the main hotel, so CDS is a great alternative to staying at the hotel. I found the rooms to be small, but charming, and the housekeeping was done well. Went there with my husband and we were pleasantly surprised at the detailed, carved furniture. The front desk was really helpful when we had questions about taking busses around town (highly suggested, they are 6.5 pesos per person -- 65 cents! -- and there's one that goes from the bus stop, 3 blocks from Casa DS to the airport). We really enjoyed our time at CDS, although if you're looking to spend most of your vacation in the hotel room, I might suggest going elsewhere. It was a good "base", clean but sparse, but not super relaxing or comforting. One of the best parts is the live trees and plants growing in the hotel. The hotel is open-air (the center is all open save a staircase going up the 4 floors to the rooftop pool) and there's a huge tree growing inside. Truly, life among greenery. The hotel was fine but it describes itself as a Boutique hotel on its website and it definitely is not a boutique hotel( I have stayed in other, good boutique hotels in Mexico and Spain so I know what real ones offer). It is small, we had a bottom floor room with no outside windows only a picture window open to an inner courtyard so no privacy unless […] curtains are closed. Room, inevitably smelled musty but OK with air con fan on. Upper floor rooms with balconies and external windows would be much better but hotel was full so we were unable to change the room; we did ask. A quiet cul-de-sac location which kept it quiet. We were only there three nights so the bottom floor room was adequate but no good for a long stay. Given the awful high rise hotels and expensive smaller hotels in the town, this one was pretty good for the price. This is a great budget hotel. I have stayed here twice. If you like a clean room with few frills this is the place. It is adults only and the roof top pool is always peaceful. you are two blocks from the beach and lots of great restaurants nearby. Try to avoid staying on the main floor.

This hotel is located 2 blocks from the beach and is part of the Playa Los Arcos chain. The rooms are adequate, lighting is poor, beds are hard (like all Mexican hotels), but it is still above average for the area and the price is right. Reasonable security. Paint was peeling from the ceiling in the shower. But you won't find a more friendly staff. […] If you're a peple person, you may overlook everything else. The restaurant food was bland and overpriced. Plenty of good eats in the neighborhood, so try those instead. HOWEVER, they seem to come up with arbitrary rules which they enforce in a gestapo-like manner. For example, try to take a photograph (imagine that, a tourist want's to take a photograph!) and they rush to tell you "no photographs without the manager's permission!!" Give me a break. Also, don't try and bring your friends in for a drink. GUESTS ARE NOT PERMITTED! I went back and looked at my booking site and also the hotel terms and conditions, and NOWHERE does it state that your guest may not enter your room. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Plenty of gays in the area. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is at a great location and you are welcome at its sister hotels. My only complaint was that my room was musty. When I got home my clothes still smelled even after I washed them. I think I would stay here again, but would pick up some febreeze for the room.

We found the bathroom to be extremely small. There was barely enough room to manuever around the sink, shower stall, and toilet.

Este hotel a pesar de estar en el corazon de la zona romantica, es muy privado por estar cerrada la calle donde se ubica, cuenta con los servicios de club de playa y no estas en la playa directo con ruido y arena.... para pareaas y personas que quieren fiesta pero la hora de descansar

Hotel aconchegante, bonito, charmoso e bem localizado no centro histórico de Vallarta. As outras torres do complexo hoteleiro "Los Arcos" (calma apesar de ser um complexo não é aquele tipo de resort sem alma que existe na zona turística) podem até possuir suites, ar condicionado + potente, mas não tem o mesmo charme da decoração mexicana, o pátio interno […] e a piscina no terraço que além de charmossíma é perfeita para curtir o pôr do sol maravilhoso sem o incomôdo dos vendedores ambulantes que enchem o seu saco na praia…(que no centro não é grandes coisas…). Hôtel très correct, avec piscine sur le toit pour profiter de la vue. Service impeccable, chambre petite mais confortable. Contrairement à ce qu'indique le site, l'hôtel n'est pas situé face à la mer, mais à une rue.

REALMENTE ES COMFORTABLE LA ESTANCIA EN ESTE HOTEL, BUEN SERVICIO, PRESENCIA DEL PERSONAL MUY TRADICIONAL. REALMENTE RECOMENDABLE

Les premiers jours dans cet hôtel ont été difficiles du à l'inconfort de la chambre. Mais ils ont fait leur possible pour nous changer de chambre. Après ce fut très confortable. Le service est très bon et efficace et l'emplacement agréable.
