The hotel was very nice but the amenities were very poor. There was no refrigerator in the room and no vending machines in the hotel. My husband had to go out at 2am to get me something to drink which the nearest was a Whataburger. Also, we arrived late upon checkin so had to walk a ways to get something to eat. The service was awful. One star service for the price of a four star hotel. My keycards didn't work and I ended up having to come down three time right after check-in. Engineers were sent to look at the door and I was assured the problem was rectified. Later I came back to late at night and found out that now my door was left unlocked because the engineers […] had disabled the lock mechanism. I went down again and they moved me to another room - a subpar room - disability access room where the phone didn't work. The staff didn't care and no one followed up with me. "Beautiful Hotel"
Would definitely stay here again. Perfect location on the Riverwalk. Easy walk to all the sights. Rooms are all suites and very well appointed with very comfy beds. Great restaurant "Las Ramblas". "Perfect location"
The Contessa has an ideal location on the Riverwalk. My friend from California and I met in San Antonio for a weekend get together.The Contessa is a perfect hotel for a girl's weekend getaway. The large sitting room and separate bedroom gave both of us plenty of room and privacy. I did have to call at 6 pm one evening because our room had not been made […] up, however they quickly sent someone up take care of it. Our only other complaint was that we only had dark roast coffee available, but we were able to dilute it with enough water to make it drinkable for us. "Nice hotel but..."
Our A/C did not work the first night we were at the hotel. They were in no rush to move us until the lady at the front desk heard me say I was not happy. I am five months pregnant and I was uncomfortable without A/C it was not pleasant. They said they upgraded us to another suite but it has a city view and we wanted a Riverwalk view but were happy because […] the A/C worked. Not sure I would stay here again.
