Econo Lodge Oceanfront - Virginia Beach

The only thing that we found wrong was the internet. We was on the second floor and the service was poor. My husband went down to the lobby and that was still poor. Other than that we had a wonderful stay.

it rained one of the nights we stayed in the hotel and the rain came in around the window and soaked the floor our suitcases and clothes were soaked, and this was the last night we were there when i told them they just said sorry if we could have told them they would have moved us, but it happened in the middle of the night so we couldn't have known. […] so we had to ware dirty clothes home cause our clean clothes were wet. they didn't even ask us if they could dry our clothes for us. the roof leaked in their chair and got my phone charder wet witch was pluged into the wall, (DANGER) and the pool was not even a full size pool. If this hotel had an excellent manager who was on top of their employees with regards to making sure everything was clean this would be a great place to stay otherwise it was very dirty. Well, there were so many things that went wrong with the hotel room that weekend. First of all the heat was not working properly, one side of the room was warm, other side was like you left the door open. The clubs on the main strip is a noisy and unstable crew, when you are coming in to settle down is not good. You have to blow your horn twice to get in the garage, due to the fact they don't want to leave it open due to the club crew. However it is good that they are looking out for the guest, over all a nice place

The staff was very helpful on my stay. I enjoyed the breakfast that was available.

We were met with friendliness and attention upon arrival which lasted through our breakfast jaunts each morning, a walk by the desk or out to the boardwalk....our room was clean, i would have preferred larger pillows, but everything was bright and sunny. I would reccommend this hotel to others who want a convenient nice place to stay.

reasonable rates, good location, but hotel is showing its age, and the room was not at all clean.

The garage is closed from the public and the place has a nice pool and great breakfast. The rooms were neat and oceanview.

The room was ok, had a beautiful view of the ocean and a large balcony. The other positive thing was a mini-kitchen (a must when you travel with kids). On the downsize, there is only one elevator that runs very slowly, at some point we even considered walking up to the seventh floor. And the pool, which is comparable to the size of a dining table.

I booked this hotel based on the reviews I read. I was unsure what we were going to get but thought 38 people had posted positive comments, so I booked it. We arrived on Sunday evening check-in went very smooth but when we got in to our room I found the carpet was wet. My husband went to the manager and they sent maintenance very quickly to the room. […] Upon inspection he observed that the refrigerator was leaking and thats why the floor was wet. They moved us upstairs to another room which was much more expensive than what we paid but at no cost to us. The entire staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is older and could use a fresh coat of paint but it was by no means a dump. The pool is small but that wasn't any major concerns on our part. My 12 year old was fine with it and like my 17 year old said, he came to swim in the ocean not the pool. Elevator was slow at times but it wasn't anything major. We were very pleased with the hotel and staff. I am a very picky person and I would recommend this hotel so that says alot for the hotel and staff. Baca selanjutnya

i purchased a one night stay for my daughter and a few friends to celebrte their graduation. we only live about 2 hours from va. beach, so i felt comfortble w/ them going there with very strict rules and consequenses in place if the rules were violated. the room was clean and location excellent. however, the clerk on duty was very nasty to them on checkin, […] said they weren't allowed to check in as they weren't 'OLD ENOUGH', would not talk to me or add any charges to my credit card as instructed. he eventually 'ALLOWED ' them to register as the room was 'already paid for;' he made them sign papers saying they would not destroy anything on the property, and that he could 'KICK THEM OUT' anytime if he didnt feel they were 'FOLLOWING THE RULES'. these are college students, all a students, never in trouble, and only wanted to spend 1 day at the beach, i only made a reservation for them due to the fact it was memorial day weekend, and didnt want them driving home late in all the traffic. my daughter called me hysterically from her hotel room as soon as she got inside. she was absolutely appalled at the clerks behavior, and was almost afraid to leave the room to go to the beach! the nerve! i understand there are many problems w/ young persons loose in a resort city, but this is somewhere she goes all the time, has never not:followed the rules" had no intentions of doing anything out of the ordinary during her stay. the clerk almost ruined it for the girls, and i think was totally out of line to act the way he did. i will never use this hotel again, even though it is right on the vs beach boardwalk. he has no right to treat my ds\asughter and friends in such a manner, unless they were behaving in a manner to which they would have been warned, however, that was not the case, he just verbally attacked them as soon as they started checking in. i am completely appalled at this behavior, and it was totally uncalled for. Great hotel for the price. About 100 feet from the sand and beach. In door heated pool for the day of inclement weather. Continental breakfast was included and was fine. Very nice staff! Hotel was a little outdated and room and bathroom were small but do-able for the three nights we were there. Clean is what we were looking for and what we got! We wanted […] a hotel which was within steps of the beach, shops and restaurants with a clean room on the ground floor, in-door pool, breakfast included and secure parking. The hotel was great. Everything was nice and pretty close to what we expected for the price. The pictures of the pool were deceptive online. I was shocked at how tiny it was. No exaggeration, there was a sign that said max capacity was 11 people. Other than that, all was great. Service was good, room was clean, etc.

Overall the hotel was excellent. the room was very clean and quiet. the hotel staff was very freindly and helpful. Location was excellent and within walking distance of most attrations and restuarants. The only complaint is that housekeeping did not come for two days which prompted a visit to the main desk. The problem was solved.

I was able to check in a little early which was a plus, however the room seemed as if it were cleaned but was very out of date. Kinda dirty around the corners of the ceiling and floor boards. Random house cleaning times were inconvienent spanning from 3 the second day to 1100 on several other days. Hotel staff was pleasant enough at points, but at other […] times seemed to lack appriciation of my business or courtesy. The view was beautiful and neared many good places to dine and be entertained. I just expected a little more, but was not totally disappointed. We had an incredible good stay at this hotel. The people were very plesant during our stay. The location of this hotel is convenient.

I was a little Sceptical,It was a last minute getaway. The postings look good, So I took a chance. And i am really glad that I did. I got in very late. They where vwery warm and helpfull. The onlty negative was my room key didnt work. This was resolved very quickly. It was very nice to have a indoor parking garage. The room was vey clean. And you can […] tell Both aintance an housekeeping work to keep it that way. The pool was a little small and shallow. But very clean. Breakfast decent. If you desire basic accommodations with the amenities of an in room fridge, microwave and safe, then this hotel will fit the bill. If offers a free continental breakfast as well. The room is a little small, but we don't go to Virginia Beach to stay in a hotel. It is in the heart of the action of the boardwalk. Our oceanfront property allowed us to look […] down on the boardwalk and people watch. We are close to the Dairy Queen, but far enough away the the gathering groups don't congregate. This hotel was very clean and the heated indoor pool was a nice addition. There were restaurants right near by within walking distance and a nice variety at that. I had a beach view room that was a nice addition to the whole stay. The staff was very courteous and hospitable. I recommend this hotel to anyone. Overall great place to stay, tight parking though esp for my bigger suv glad I didn't drive my 2500HD truck would of had a hard time parking it. Felt the cold air from the outside coming from under the door from the beach.. This hotel was definitely only a 2 star hotel, while clean it is dingy and desperately needs updating. We asked for a late check out, so they ALLOWED us to check out at noon instead of 11. However, they still deactivated our room key at 11!!

Our stay was unfortunately during spring break, but we were there for the Shamrock Marathon. Upstairs neighbors were up all night-very loud & we were not able to sleep. Our second night the neighbors were gone but the wind whistled through the door and again we couldn't sleep. Had to accept the smoking room but it was sold out, as were most of the hotels […] on the strip. Desk personnel were very nice & helpful whenever we had questions. Baca selanjutnya

I just LOVED this place. It was meant for just one night between my bestfriend and I so that we could welcome in the new year at the oceanfront. ((We didn't want to be on the roads in case of drunkdrivers)). The lobby smells like a swimming pool because it's on your right as you walk in, but it's nothing overbearing. The attendants are very knowledgeable […] and very friendly. The rooms were MUCH better than expected. When you think of a one-star, you think dusty, smelly and rude. This place blew it out of the water. Also, the location couldn't have been better. You can see the city on one side and the wide ocean with sunrise on the the other. The windows go from floor to city and the balconey is a nice touch. I'll be staying there again for any of my overnight oceanfront adventures in the future! Baca selanjutnya

Great staff -- very friendly and helpful. Beautiful ocean front view from the balcony on the 8th floor. Had a fantastic lightning storm first night! Convenient to lots of restaurants. Protected parking.

Our room was actually ready two hours before check-in time. We were on the 5th floor and it seemed to be a little nicer than the lower floors. Parking was great..plenty of spaces and after check-out at 11am, we were allowed to leave our car in the parking garage until 3pm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good experience.

Excellent location and price. When we got there, the heater had obviously been on for hours it was quite hot in the room. The room smelled moldy for the entire four days we were there. Good maid service, cleaned and tidied up well. Not bad for the price, but I may try moving up the price ladder the next time I stay in Virginia Beach.

Upon arrival, the elevator was out of service and being repaired, but was working within the hour. That was really our only problem during the stay. The location is very convenient and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

The bed was awesome and most comfortable... the pool was too small but did not matter because of the ocean. The microwave didnt work.

Pros: - excellent location on boardwalk in the center of everything. Evening fireworks were DIRECTLY in front of our room- great! -friendly/efficient staff- they had answers to all my questions -Oceanfront view was breathtaking Cons: -Toilet overflowed, plumber on duty didn't respond to request. We had to plunge it ourselves late at night. -breakfast […] bar not really all that great.
