We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Byward Blue Inn. Close to the Byward Market and all places of interest. Hotel staff were amazing. Breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable with a wide array of choices. Nice to have afternoon tea also. What a lovely touch to have a bottle of pure water waiting for us in our room every day. Also loved the free Wi-Fi. It met all expectations. Staff was accommodating, if not overtly outgoing. Breakfast Room attendant was fast and efficient. I liked the breakfast setup. The room was clean and reasonably well laid out. The wifi worked well. What more could you want? Great location in the Byward Market.

Nice quality inn steps away from Byward Market, museums and Rideau Canal. Comfortable room, fresh and clean with basic amenities and balcony overlooking courtyard. Simple complimentary breakfast and easy on-site parking. Pleasant, helpful service. Ideal for a couple who will be on the go and want cleanliness and simple services.

Great proximity to Byward Market, nightlife and restaurants. Didn't have to drive all weekend. Enjoyed the balcony for early morning coffee and late night glass of wine. Room was very clean and perfect size for our needs. It would have been nice to have more lighting in the bathroom. Overall an enjoyable experience.

They included a breakfast, but is only available from 7-9:30. Room was loud because of the popular/busy street. No fan in room available to drown out loud people outisde.

The inn is immaculate and has many special touches (eg complimentary afternoon tea and friendly and helpful staff). Great location -- we'll definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay (2nd time) and will always try to book this hotel when we go to Ottawa. Friendly, clean, great breakfast, great rooms and within walking distance of anything we want to see! Love it!

This place has a very friendly and welcoming staff. I had booked a non balcony room, but they upgraded me for to a room with a balcony as the hotel wasn't that filled. My stay was for one night only, but I was very satisfied with it. It is in a prime location and you have so many things to do close by. Tip: there are public parking lots close by that […] you can use as an alternative to the private parking the hotel provides and it costs just one third of the hotel's parking charges. Location, location, location! Hotel near Parliament Hill, National Gallery, Byward Market, Rideau Centre, etc. All within easy walking distance. Good full breakfast and afternoon tea is nice too. Stayed two nights. Saturday did hear some noise on street and in hallway (room was next to elevator), which was annoying but settled down later on. Sunday […] night was much quieter as would be expected. Sink in bathroom was loose from base but worked okay. The doorknob on outside of room door was loose and broken (could come off in your hand) and I informed front desk and they said someone would fix it. With bolt lock the room was still secure, but the facility is a bit older and it shows a bit. Bed was comfortable. It was generally clean and had a homey feel which was nice. Public parking garage located on same street which I used. It was about eight dollars per night. On Sunday I was able to park on the street. Not a bad hotel, I would stay here again. I did get an exceptionally good rate by gambling and getting the hotel online from Expedia without knowing name until after booking it. If you are fussy, find another hotel. Very short stay for business purpose, and weather was poor so no opportunity to view sights other than out of taxi window. Very convenient location, within walking distance to all the sites. Breakfast could be improved--fairly basic and plain. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Parking next door in public lot--slightly cheaper than their own garage.

The building is a little faded but the fittings (and art) spruce it up. The in-room kitchen facilities are a real plus for breakfast/lunch and coffee/tea, but not up to dinner (which is fair enough) [although breakfast is included]. A no non-sense / bare bones place to stay. A little more luxury could do wonders to this place....Friendly staff and a decent breakfast almost made up for the extremely cheap bathroom and the ice cold floor.

I booked this hotel as an unknown 3star hotel in the downtown Ottawa area. The location is fantastic and the staff try hard. The room we had was very out of date and very cheaply done. It looked like a 1980s condo/ apartment that they forgot to renovate when they changed to a hotel. If this was rated as 2star I would've been very satisfied with it but […] it is not 3star. Very clean (room and main part of hotel). Great continental breakfast. Room was spacious and staff lovely. Hotel was currently being reno'd which made for some noise. The staff were very polite, our room was comfortable. The location is great, a short walk to everything. We had a great view from the balcony. The only problem we had was a noisy man in the hall at 3 a.m. but that wasn't the Inn's fault. The next time I visit Ottawa I will book this location.

Excellent hotel in a central location near Byward market and restaurants, as well as specialty shops. Staff was very helpful and assisted in recommending good places to eat and best transport routes. We had a really good stay at Byward... The room was cosy and ours had a balcony.. on the front .. It was quiet even on a weekday morning.. The breakfast had a nice variety to offer.. The coffee could be stronger.. seemed quite watered down. It has a European flavor to it.. like some inns there.

While it was clean and the staff helpful and friendly,we checked out after one night having paid for two. There was no atmosphere in room,cold bare floors,felt tired and dingy and the bed was extremely uncomfortable.

I spent three nights at the Byward Blue Inn at the end of October and was extremely pleased by the quality of the room, the warm hospitality of the staff and the the wonderful service. The room was beautiful and had many amenities: frig with mineral water, coffee maker with teas and coffee, warm robes,and free wifi. Buffet breakfast and afternoon tea […] were included. The staff were super friendly..The hotel was close to the Byward Market, the National Gallery and Parliament Hill. I parked my car when I came and never used it again until I left. It was lovely. Quaint Boutique Hotel conveniently located in the ByWard Market in downtown Ottawa. Comfortable, quiet and clean. The hotel is situtated in the heart of the market but just far enough away from the bars to be quiet. In that sense, it was an absolutely perfect location. The room I had was really comfortable, the tv was old and the remote didn't work that well but all in all it was a really great stay. Would recommend to anyone.

My stay was okay. The major problem i had was that, my bed was most often not well laid, i had to clean the toilet bowl on arrival.
