Mercure Lyon Centre Château Perrache - Lyon

Have stayed in many places in Lyon and I think this was the best one so far... a little bit out from city center but still walking distance to Bellcour. Old hotel but very fresh and personal, looks like an old chataue. Breakfast was also good!

Recommend this hotel for close proximity to trains, service (came in very early and gave us room iediately), and comfort/cleanliness of rooms.

We stayed in this hotel during fete des lumiers. The location is central- around 20 min walking to the old town but the hotel itself is not in a nice area. Attached to one of the main train stations in Lyon the only entrance of the hotel is reachable only by passing through the train station, where as in every train station an odd folk is to be found, […] specially in the evening hours. Might be suitable for business travelers who need to be connected to the airport or need to be close to the train station but i would not recommend this hotel for leisure. Proximity of the hotel to the station is by far the best attraction. I can see why people who come to Lyon on business trips would benefit from it greatly. For visitors it would also be very convenient and service at the hotel was pretty good, friendly and attentive. The hotel was very convenient to all types of transport which made getting into and out of the city centre very easy. The immediate area around the hotel is typical of an area with a large transport hub. Because we used the metro we did not tend to walk in the immediate area. The hotel was very quite and out room was at the back and was very peaceful. […] The staff on reception were very helpfull at all times and dealt with any queries we had very well. We had a beautiful dinner in the dining room on one of the two nights we stayed in the hotel. The service was fantastic. The breakfast was good on the first morning, but the second morning we just had the quick coffee, juice and crossants in the wonderful bar. Worth visiting to see the glass panels and ceiling. The location is great - close to trains, metro and autoroute but it totally defeated my car's sat nav. After parking in a huge and expensive multi- storey car park, we went by foot but thanks to a very helpful concierge I was able to move the car to the front of the hotel and then it couldn't have been easier. The Hotel Perrache is a lovely, older hotel in wonderful condition that is located adjacent to the train station, Gare Perrache. We have stayed there several times and have never been disappointed with the rooms, service or staff. Since we travel by TGV the hotel so convenient; you don't have to walk in the rain, snow, or take a taxi to get there. Since […] the airport shuttle also goes to the train station, it's also convenient for those flying to Lyon. It is within easy walking distance of old Lyon, its shopping, restaurants, and tourist attractions. The metro stops at the train station, so you can easily go anywhere in Lyon. The Grand Hotel Mercure in Lyon is beautiful inside but please be wary about booking it. It took us over an hour to locate the hotel within Lyon's nightmare 1-way system. The receptionist was very French about it all and said 'it is easy' to find the hotel. No, it is not! We were not the only guests that took this long to find it. Please insist that […] they give you a better map than the streetmap/google one on their website. It is almost impossible to find it and the parking is not good either. In it's favour it is handy for the old town - 20 mins walk away. I have to say that I have never felt so shaken running across a dual carriageway in my attempt to reach the hotel - my husband was stuck in a car park from the one way system. The hotel was very nice, old beautiful building. As most old buildings the rooms were not well lit but the ambiance made up for that. It was difficult to get to as it is at the end of a dead-end parking lot next to the train station. We enjoyed the hearing the trains at night but that could be a problem for some light sleepers. Accueil à la reécption parfait. Chambre bien entretenue, un peu sombre. Par contre l'accueil au bar et le service au bar a été catastrophique...!!! dommage

Chambre sombre, tache sur la moquette, rideaux gris, bref d'une grande tristesse...et pour l'environnement c'est une gare...

C'est un Grand Hotel enclavé entre la gare et divers parkings, c'est autant un avantage qu'un inconvénient il faut passer par la lugubre gare pour ce rendre dans le centre, mais au moment d'arriver ou de repartir le retard pour le train ne se pose pas. Et puis Lyon est une ville radieuse j'ai pu faire en une après midi passer par bellecour, saint george, […] saint jean, fourvière, cordelier, hotel de ville, foch, la tête d'or et tout ça a pied, c'était formidable. Le restaurant fameux semble t il, est fermé le weekend. La première chose et je pense la plus difficile à tolérer c'est l'odeur vraiment pestilentiel de notre chambre, au dire du maître d’hôtel c'est parce que l’hôtel est vieux. La télévision n'était pas de très bonne qualité, et le téléphone était en dérangement ou cassé (ce qui a son importance car j'ai séjourné durant la coupe du monde de rugby) Sinon le personnel est très obligeant, et l'architecture art nouveau/classique est très rassurant et romantique. Les magnifiques affiches de Cassandre décorant les couloirs ajouté a ce séjour une touche datée très agréable. J'ai eu l'agréable impression de voyager dans un temps ou la modernité était le confort et l'espace. En bref je n'ai pas était très satisfait de l'hotel, bien que d'une manière générale un petit effort lui redonnerai son cachet originel. (les détails font le luxe) Baca selanjutnya

Bra läge på detta hotell från 1906. Något slitet men rent och fräscht. Trevlig personal som pratade mycket bra engelska.

Aardig, beetje oubollig hotel gelegen op prima plek voor een kort bezoek aan deze 2e stad van Frankrijk. Voordelen: locatie, garage en na 3 X verhuizen een redelijke kamer. Nadelen: slechte kwaliteit van het eten in het restaurant, 3 X verhuizen om redelijke kamer te krijgen.

Hôtel très vieux et mal entretenu. Dans notre chambre double vitrage mais dans celle de notre fille, fenêtre ordinaire, donc beaucoup de bruit de l'extérieur. Salle de bains vétuste, porte ne fermant pas, baignoire tachée malgré une robinetterie récente. L'asenceur principal ne fonctionnait pas normalement mais cela n'a pas géné la reception! Pour le […] parking, nous avions trois chambres et trois voitures, nous n'avons eu la chance de n'avoir que deux places dont une sous une colonne d'eau qui fuyait, donc notre véhicule était peu présentable le lendemain matin (le parking est payant). Une très bonne suite, bien meublée, salle de bain refaite, de très bons lits de 140 cm chacun, il y a juste la lumière dans la chambre qui était insuffisante pour pouvoir lire, comme dans beaucoup d’autres hôtels.

Bonjour, Je tiens à faire ce commentaire parce que je trouve d'une part que cette hôtel ne mérite pas d'être considéré comme un 4**** et d'autre part parce que question propreté il est loin d'être au top. Je commence par signaler tout ce qui manquait à l'intérieur de la chambre (203) pour qu'ont puisse se sentir bien. -pas assez de prises électriques […] (disponibles) les prises existantes étaient occupées par la télé, le frigo, les lampes de chevet et lampe de bureau, moi je voulais charger mon portable et utiliser mon PC -pas de support pour le linge dans la salle de bain -pas assez de meubles (un petit canapé par exemple) - des tables de chevet de 20 cm2 au maximum (juste la place pour la lampe de chevet) -pas assez de lumière -le foehn ne fonctionnait pas correctement -pas d'étagère de rangement à la salle de bain -pas de support pour les valises (j’ai défait ma valise par terre puisque sur le lit n’est pas très hygiénique) -pas assez de centres dans l'armoire -le bord du lavabo sale (la partie siliconée entre le lavabo et l’armature en bois) -la moquette très, très, très sale - faïences cassées à deux endroits (petit mur qui cache la baignoire) - papier du mur de la chambre collé n'importe comment (de travers) Ma femme est resté avec moi la première et la dernière nuit, lors de son arrivée pour la dernière nuit elle à voulu prendre une douche en arrivant et a trouvé un cheveu noir de minimum 30 cm, comme elle est blonde et moi j'ai les cheveux courts sa aurait put faire désordre. Le meilleur c'est que quand j'ai réclamé on ma dit que la chambre venait d'être refaite. Pour finir la directrice de l'hôtel, très sympathique soit dit en passent, m’a attribué une suite (111) avec toutes les commodités manquantes dans l’autre chambre, que j’avais besoin et que c’est le minimum pour un ****. Pour terminer, je voulais simplement dire que mon but n’est pas celui de critiquer pour critiquer, mais d’essayer d’améliorer la qualité pour que d’autres personnes puissent profiter d Baca selanjutnya

Das Hotel liegt gleich neben dem Bahnhof Perrache. Mit dem Auto etwas schwierig zu finden. Ausserdem ist am Wochenende das Restaurant geschlossen und das Hotel könnte doch etwas erneuert werden. Alles in allem aber gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

Points positifs : - hôtel bien situé, au coeur de la ville, train, métro et tram étant à deux pas, - bâtiment ayant un certain cachet, - qualité des petits-déjeuners servis dans une belle salle et des dîners servis au bar (pratique le dimanche soir quand tous les restos du quartier sont désespérement fermés...), - personnel aimable, - tarifs promotionnels […] intéressants le week-end. Points à améliorer : - "fléchage" de l'hôtel déficient depuis la gare pour les personnes arrivant en train, - temps d'attente à la réception un peu long (une seule personne à l'accueil), acceptable dans un 2*, mais là moins... - éclairage des chambres un peu insuffisant, comme dans beaucoup d'autres hôtels. Det här hotellet är definitivt inte värt 4 stjärnor, 3 stjänor högst borde det ha. Det ligger precis vid en mycket trafikerad väg, och har man rum mot den sidan så kan det bli störande. Vidare var frukosten under genomsittet, ingen interantionell frukost utan typisk fransk. Rummen har tunna väggar så ljud från närliggande rum hörs lätt. Badrummet var […] rent o fräscht och har inget att anmärka på. Personalen var vänliga men inte de mest professionella. Hotellets läge precis vid stationen Perrache, från vilken du kan åka metro, tåg och spårvagn, erbjuder bra transportmöjligheter men gör också att området känns något otryggt nattetid. Nous avons été décu car on nous a donné une chambre standard alors que nous avions reservé une chambre superieur à cela s'ajoute une clim reversible tres bruyante,pas de balayette au wc,aucune pression d'eau sous la douche et etant situé à coté de la gare nous avons participé aux arrivés des trains pendant notre sommeil.Le petit dejeuné est agréable.Cet […] hotel se situe au centre de Lyon tout peut se faire à pied si on aime marcher .Personnellement je ne retournerais pas dans cet hotel ,il ne mérite pas ses 4*. Hotel bien situé pour arriver très tôt ou tard par le train, même en voiture par l'A6. Place pour le parking. Formule proposée sympa. Hotel propre, pas de mauvaise odeur dans les chambres non fumeur (distinction des chambres fumeurs / non fumeurs par étage), pas de bruit, chambre assez spacieuse pour 2 nuits. C'était une offre intéressante à première vue mais qui s'est révélée une vraie arnaque : une chambre grande comme un mouchoir de poche, plus chambre de bonne que chambre d'hôtel (style combles aménagées) et qui donnait sur les voies de la gare donc bruit de trains qui passent toute la nuit. Fuyez cet hôtel ! Indigne de sa catégorie ...

We had a nice stay. Being between the train station and a busy motorway it could be a litle noisy from time to time. other than that every thing was good. If you know a litle french and english you will have no problem with the staff.

Extremely good location for metro and train connections. Immediate surroundings not as pleasant as a neighborhood. Very close to Bellecour and primary areas of interest in Lyon. Interior of hotel is very comforable and pleasant. Personnel were exceptionally helpful. This hotel is nice for a business trip since it is very close to the tgv station and the train to Paris. it is also quite close to the city center. However is the neighbourhood quite dodgy and I would not go back for a private vacation. In that case I would choose an other area.
