Hotel 1 station away from Union station and itself not even 1 block from the train station. Only thing was this train station does not open until 7 on weekends and if you have a conference session starting at that time, you might want to book a cab or you will miss it. Otherwise, a perfect price and location. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in DC for the Nike Women's Marathon. Got a great deal from Hotels.com. Everything was superb, and the metro is right outside the hotel, so you can get to the heart of DC in a matter of seconds for really cheap!

The location of this hotel makes it easy to access all of D.C. via the metro. The staff is helpful, and the building is clean and well kept.

The hotel is very Nice and the staff is also extremely accommodating and friendly. The only downer is the area has stray people walking by but there is a 24 hour security guard right in front and valet parking.

This is good hotel, with very close metro access. However, not ideal for a family trip. The area is a bit sketchy after dark, as others have pointed out. The indoor pool is very small, very warm, and not as clean as I would have liked. The cable TV options are limited and there is no ability to rent movies from the room. This is a very nice hotel, especially for the price. It is located within moments of a metro stop, so it's very easy to get around DC. I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.

We stayed at this hotel because of the NCAA basketball tournament. It was convienent to many restaurants, grocery stores, and the Verizon Center. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very accomodating. Liked the security of the building. After certain hours, you needed to have your room key to get into the building, and you always needed to use […] your room key in order to get to your room when using the elevator. Great weekend. Except for the parking fee everything was great. Not noisy at all and had a few restaurants and a big supermarket within walking distance. Would definitely go there again

It is attached to metro and large railway, so noisy. In addition, parking and loading area is very narrow and crowded. If you want to use Metro, it is good. Hotel room is clean and comfortable.

WORTH THE MONEY!!!!! Service was great! They kept our bags for us after checkout for several hours since our flight wasn't until later that night. It was right across the street from the Dept of ATF and several restaurants!!!! Metro was within 20 yards of the hotel's front door!!! So do not rent a car. YOu don't need it!!!! The metro is KING here!!! […] Union Station to NoMa Gaulladuet Univ Metro...wish we would have known that before we walked 1.4 miles from Union Station to Hotel!!!! The hotel appears to be in a not so safe part of the town. Police cars patrolling there. No good restaurant around. Close to metro station which making it convenient but also noisy when sleeping at night. It is worth the extra $$$ for me to stay at the Fairmont the following day on this trip.

My wife & I came up by train for busman's holiday. Selected this hotel based on ratings in Expedia and it's location on a metro stop. For the cost, I cannot imagine a better choice in a location this close to the Capital Mall. Staff was very nice and the room was clean & quite on the 8th floor. Our room included free breakfast from the on site restaurant. […] The menu is limited but sufficient for our needs. The pool, although small, was clean. We enjoyed our stay here very much. Some have mentioned the location as a transitional area. Not sure what they are talking about. I think they may have never stayed in a large city before. Was looking to get away for the weekend and had never even to DC. The hotel is perfectly positioned for anyone using public transportation, as it's positioned right off of the "Red Line" of the Metro. The bar downstairs was nice, but grossly overpriced! ($6 for a Season Sam Adams bottle). Overall this was an excellent hotel experience, very clean, modern […] and a convenient location for tourists...will definitely be staying here in the future! What I really like about the hotel is that you can check in anytime. It's a hotel that's convenient to 7 Eleven, Harris Teeter and a few other places. The hotels are very clean, they have a pull out sofa in case people need to stay over. The pool is nice and warm, gym is pretty decent to get a workout in. This was the best DC hotel yet. I've been to DC 4 times over the years. Free internet, small pool, extremely helpful front desk, immaculate room. Free Washington Post and USA Today. Right off the Red line Metro. A++

It was the worst hotel experience we have ever had in 40 years staying in Washington DC - bar none! With the metro and Amtrak trains passing outside the room, all the surrounding construction, the construction taking place in the restaurant below our room starting at 6:30 AM, no street parking, desolate streets on a Saturday and Sunday evening, an uninviting […] hotel lobby...it goes on and on! great location for taking public transportation, unfortunately the hotel is surrounded by train tracks and construction so it was very loud but once asleep it was fairly quiet.

As long as you don't need to park anywhere, you will be fine. This was a quality hotel. Clean room, friendly staff, can be a good deal because it is not surrounded by the best area but is right near the metro and easy to get a cab.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They were very accomidating and flexble with the housekeeping scheduling allowing us amply time to sleep in and relax while we were on vacation. My Kids and I had a great time due to a very supportive staff. From the doorman to the front desk to the restaurant staff everyone seemed committed to ensuring we were comfortable, ate well and traveled to and from the hotel with ease. We will be back!

In general good reasonably priced accommodation in DC. Hotel extremely convenient to NOMA/Gallaudet metro (Red line), although construction makes it less than visually obvious how one should exit. Hotel staff friendly and efficient. Convenience store and sandwich shop/deli places in immediate vicinlty, though real restaurants a metro stop or two away. […] Small wrinkle, I and several other guests when checking in were explicitly invited to "happy hour" which was NOT complimentary. I normally don't rate EVERYTHING very satisfied but, we were! Right next to the metro, 7-11 next door, restaurants across the street, restaurant 7 bar in the hotel, staff extremely friendly & helpful! Price was okay. We had a wonderful long weekend and would stay there again!

Booked a king room but they only had 2 queens, which wasn't a big deal breaker and was about the only minus I had about the stay. Didn't eat at the cafe, but it looked pretty modern and clean. Rooms were above standard, very clean, my view was of the train station and occasionally there were a few trains tooting their horns but I don't remember any […] at night. Overall a good stay, got lost trying to find it and ended up in some not so nice neighborhoods. Around a little strip that has some restaurants and cafes. Also right near the red line metro. While the location of the hotel was not difficult to locate, it was difficult to find the entrance. The entrance is on what looks like a side street; you do not try to enter in the parking garage (valet only, $33/night). However to get to the side street, you can only enter from one direction. Missing the turn is a mistake will cost you a lot of time […] due to the one way streets. I've looked at this hotel many times due its proximity to the Metro, where I can get to my events and sightseeing. I booked it this time due the great rates and was very pleased. The walk out the Metro door was about 50 yards. Security is everywhere, so I felt safe, but feel that if it's this necessary, what's up with the area? Comfortable/clean room […] w/ large shower (felt new!), free internet, a cozy sports bar atmosphere w/ good food, and several fast food joints nearby to grab lunch and/or dinner. the room was spacious, clean, with easy internet access and a large bathroom. The Gym was well enough equipped and clean. However, the "pool" turned out to be a foot bath (only 3 feet deep), and the "clientele" surprisingly mixed: I got asked for money at the Starbucks stand where I ordered my breakfast. the staff seems not to be up to speed: several […] times the front desk did not answer the phone, and I had to wait for my stored luggage for a long time. the comfort of the room though made up for that, so I would recommend this hotel. From start to finish, my experience at this hotel was great! The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when finding out that I had left the mapquest directions to my brother's church at home in Florida. A staff member printed out the directions to the church for the wedding. When I forgot to have the return directions printed out, another staff […] member did so. When my brother, whose car I was using, called to say he could not find the keys to the church, a parking staff member let me check the car (the keys were under an umbrella on the back seat). The Bistro staff were wonderful. They made recommendations and did not seem to mind when I'd say I wanted only a light breakfast or a light dinner. I am still talking about the soup I bought when I'd only planned to buy a sandwich. The Bistro staff member kept saying, "It's vegetarian, and he'd recite the ingredients aloud." I just couldn't take it anymore and just had to buy that soup! It was so delicious!! When I wanted to heat up leftovers, the microwave was available.
