"not good"
On the outside this hotel looks great, just until you get a room. There is only hot water in the morning (and it isn't really hot), and there wasn't any internet connection the first 12 hrs, the remaining time it was VERY slow even within KE standards.. The staff seems not to know the name hospitality. we asked if they could get of a taxi and they answered […] "no"but we have a limo sevice. Which we declined as it was the douple price. We said no to the limo service and then they replied "we can't help you to get a taxi". anyway we found one ourselves. The above rating is both shared by me and my collegue. Last time we stayed in Nairobi we stayed at the Nairobi Transit hotel, even being a "lower" class hotel we missed it simply because they were kind, had hot water and a good internet connection. "very bad experience"
i booked a room with breakfas(prepaid)t but after checkin they denied breakfast. Very embarassing situation. I showed all supporting documents like a beggar for a simple breakfast and hotel staff simply declined. As i travelled from dubai , my agenda was to do business meetings. Very very bad experience . Exactly as booked. Problem with internet, unable to access free wifi so had to use business centre. Otherwise a great hotel.

"Overall very good experience"
This is a period (70s?) atrium style popularised by the Hyatt chain. Overall style is impressive, if a little dated. The place could do with a little freshening up but overall this is a good bet. For Nairobi. The location is good and I had no problems at any time of day or night venturing out. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was pretty international […] and comprehensive. However the hotel is close to a couple of very good local eateries which provide more authentic breakfasts at local prices. The bar service was good and prices very reasonable. Of the 3 hotels I stayed at in Nairobi, this is the one I would return to. On this trip I also stayed at the Fairview and the Sarova Panafric. The Fairview is very pleasant in that old British colonial way but you'd never know you were in Africa, more like Surrey in summer. Plus it is a long walk from downtown, which feels dodgy at night. "Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi is OK"
It is quality 4 Money: please check hotels.com for hotel offers and they can always give you sharp rates. That is my experience till now. So I got a good quality room for a reasonable price where I could work easily. The only thing that needs improvement is the airco. "LAICO - 5 star outside; 3 star inside"
The LAICO is beautiful on the outside. It has all the makings of a 5 star hotel. Marble foyer; well dressed attendants; plush dining etc. However, once inside the room, rating dropped immediately to a 3. The bed had linen with holes in it. The "memory foam" mattress must have been the first one ever made because it was horrible. The bathroom was outdated […] despite the website speaking of room renovations being recently completed. Lastly, at checkout, I was charged double the amount for a taxi to the airport and told it was for their limousine service. When I stated that I didn't want limo service; a regular cab was fine, I was told that he had already rung it up and it was too late. In addition when he saw that I was not pleased with that answer he said their establishment didn't call taxi's but only used their limo service. Then I was told to have a seat and they would get me shortly. That didn't happen and when I asked one of the attendants he told me there was no room in the limo. I did ask to speak to the manager who refunded my money and called a cab. At the same time, another patron was having an argument with the hotel staff about being overcharged on his bill. Vieillot, a besoin d'un rafraichissement très sérieux. J'ai dû changer deux fois de chambre avant d'en trouver une potable mais dont la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas. Eclairage tristounet. Proposent un service de voiturage en Mercédes mais à deux fois le prix de l'hotel où je descend d'habitude mais c'est des Toyota!
"Hotel is old and worn out, service not good enough"
The first half of the stay was ok, even if the building was clearly old and worn out. But when the air conditioning broke down, the service was terrible. It took them hours to send a service man, and eventually move me to another room. The AC in the new room didn't work either, and I spent several hours every day for the remainder of my stay, trying […] to get it sorted. But I ended up living there for 4 days with no AC - and anyone who's been to Nairobi will know what that means. I will never stay at this hotel again, and will recommend others to find alternatives (they exist!) that are much better and cost the same. Baca selanjutnya
