The Rio Cuale divides downtown and the Romantic Zone, an area brimming with bars, restaurants, and shops. Isla Rio Cuale features a river walk and a small museum with pre-Columbian artifacts. Stretching for 16 blocks along the shore, the Malecón boardwalk is lined with bronze sculptures and palm trees. Boats depart from a nearby pier to Yelapa and Los Arcos, favored by divers and snorkelers.

The hotel is located across the street from the public airport bus and very close to Lincoln Rd shopping and restaurants. The refrig and the micro were new, clean and great. The only faults were the bathroom sink would be fine to bathe a new born or wash clothes. It was so large that there was no place to lay anything down, Also, the room lighting was […] limited. I really liked my stay at Posada de Roger. The hotel is located in the Romantic Zone and retains the feeling and charm of a real neighborhood.this stands in contrast to the resorts of the Hotel Zone further north in the city which seems hectic and impersonal. Great location .Friendly and helpful staff. Nice cozy lobby. Connected to restaurant with # 1 breakfast and lunches. Street side of hotel where the buses can be noisy starting early morning. Small pool on second floor-shared kitchen. I love this small hotel.

Mexican style hotel. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Everyone we met who was staying at the hotel very chill. Great breakfast destination adjoining.

I just came back from a week in Vallarta, and as always Hotel Posada de Roger was a great value. It is right in the heart of the Romantic Zone, and just a few blocks from the beach, great restaurants and bars, and central to all the bus and taxi options. Fredy's El Tucan restaurant off the lobby is a great breakfast experience. "Posada De Roger is great for location"
Plenty of places nearby and very central. The staff were friendly and the restaurant staff does well. You should bring earplugs since there is plenty of noise in the surrounding areas, as well as some inconsiderate guests. Beds are firm, but OK.

We had two rooms-our room and my daughter's room. Ours was in good working order. It was the rainy season and my daughter's room was filled with little ant/bugs which were more of a bother than anything, just covered everthing. The neighborhood is noisy and the beds are way too hard however the staff is friendly and it's close to anywhere in old Vallarta. Bring a power adapter because the rooms only have two prong outlets.
