Hotel Mingood - Pulau Pinang

While I don't have a problem with insects, it's an unwelcome sight when you enter the room and the first impression is that of dead insects all over the room. Looks like they do a one time sweeping/ vacuuming, fumigate the place and leave. Then the insects drop dead. Guests check in later to the "warm welcome".

Go to next-door Yes Hotel instead. Stayed in room 402 but couldn't sleep because bed bugs bit all over us. Moved to room 301 but problem persisted. Gave up dealing with management and simply endured the stay. Rooms and furniture were old and musty. Dust covered furniture and carpeting. Bathtubs, sinks and toilet seats were unclean and grimy. Smelly […] black ants infested the place, including the breakfast room. Service was generally good. Staffers were helpful. Our requests were met quickly. However, receptionists could be demeaning. When i asked about leaving early, the night-shift receptionist told me not to expect too much from a budget hotel and that "people come here becauise they have no money." Another receptionist questioned why i had so many questions. The assistant manager had more tact and tried to address our problem but it didn't help. No water heater. Patchy towels. Thin blankets. No comforters. Old air conditioners and elevator. Hearty continental breakfast (eggs cost extra). Prone to theft and robbery. Near Penang Road, free shuttle bus, tourist attractions and street food. We were told to keep our valuables at the reception as there had been two recent cases of break-in thefts. The hotel was dimly lit and may be difficult for vision-impaired persons to navigate. Overall: Worst choice I've ever made in a hotel, especially in light of the brand new budget hotel next door. Baca selanjutnya

location is fine. air-con is too loudy that I can't sleep. need maintenance. though cheap but won't stay next time.

It is definitely overpriced. The hotel has too much deferred maintenance. The location is good and the hotel staff was adequate, but it is certainly not worth the money.

My "en suite" room was spacious and the same price as a standard room at many other hotels. Was pleased to find a refrigerator and safe deposit box in my room, although no bottled water or beverages were provided. (I bought a bottle in the hotel lobby for about the same price as I would expect to pay at a corner store.) Also glad to find a full shower […] with a bathtub - not always a guaranteed inclusion in Asia. Wifi internet was free and password-secured. The facitilities are showing their age but seem to be reasonably well-maintained. The location is walking distance from Fort Cornwallis, KOMTAR and most other notable Georgetown sights. Recommended for the budget traveler who wants real hotel amenities on a backpacker's budget. Would gladly stay again. Baca selanjutnya

An ok hotel, not in the very center of tourist-life, but still in walking distance. Room was large, even the bathroom (with a tub), balcony. Unfortunately there is a construction site next to the hotel, so it can get noisy from 7 am. Staff was really very good and helpful - except when a rather moody senior female receptionist (manager?) was around […] - then everyone obviously just shut down and tried to look into their PC screens or melt into the background. It really was quite the black-and-white experience, so if you're lucky, you'll get great service, if you're not, none at all. Clean toilet and clean room. Staffs are friendly and also helpful. Nice breakfast place at the roof top! Great place to stay but maybe a little too pricey for this sorta hotel. Pretty decent location..not too near the heavy traffic areas yet not too far that it's too troublesome to get there. You can get a more decent hotel elsewhere for the price […] you're paying. Decent I think the best days of this hotel are behind it, it does feel a bit tired. Our room was massive but the hotel could do with a refurb. The room was clean, the bedding, pillow and towel were clean although obviously well used. The shower was good and bathroom clean. There is wifi that worked well in the room. The location is decent as 5-10 […] minute walk to the sights in Georgetown and 10-15 minutes to Prangin Mall. There was a tv although far too small to really watch. The A Team was on tv whilst we stayed. This hotel is kind of like the A Team, good in the late 80s early 90s, but now just average. The room is decent value for money but expect to get what you pay for If I were to stay in Penang again I would have a look at what else was available but would stay in Mingood again if nothing else available that was cheaper. Hotel Mingood is quite an old hotel. You do not see the deluxe decorations. You do not find the modern facilities. However, everything is just up to standard, with regard to the price it charges. Plus, it is located at a convenient location, near a shopping area called Komtar, about 15-min walk from an important bus terminal for going to different tourist […] spots in Penang and other surrounding cities. The hotel was conveniently located close to main eating areas, not far from town, but was also quiet with ample parking available. Staff were very accomodating and friendly at all times. I was able to change my booking dates on the morning I was due to arrive with no problem. Laundry was cheap and done per kg not per item, same day service. Room […] was very basic but hot water shower and aircon (we had to ask for a remote). Wifi in each room (password protected) also public terminals in foyer. if the rate is low, this hotel would be fine for budget travelers. the bathroom is not clean. the beds and mattresses are not very clean as well. The hotel staff are very friendly.

This hotel is okay if you have no expectations and are looking for simply a cheap place to stay. The toilet seat in our bathroom was very old and dingy. There was a hair on the new pillow case and the room is very dim. However, there is air conditioning and a safe in which to keep your important documents.

Staff was helpful and positive. Reception and facade of hotell OK. Our room and the surroundings were a little bit dark and old fashioned. The towels and linen were noticeable old. Window in our room had glass unable to see out of (greyed). Simple but OK breakfast. Centrally located and not far away from main roads, but no proper foothpaths in the nearby […] streets. If you double the price you will get a considerably better hotel (e.g. Cititel not far away). This is an acceptable budget hotel. Free WIFI is a big plus if you bring your laptop as we did. ジョージタウンの繁華街から徒歩で3分ほどのロケーション。周囲には店舗が少ないので非常に静かです。マレーシア滞在中はバスタブに浸かっていなかったこともあり、安価でバスタブ付きの部屋を探していたのですが、ここはまさに最適でした。設備は古いけれど、繁華街へのアクセスがよく、パンとドリンクだけですが朝食もついていることも考えると、お得な宿だと思います。フロントの方も親切で、街のことをいろいろと教えていただき、助かりました。

这家酒店的陈设都比较落后，房间大小还可以，还算干净整洁，走一段就有bus，交通还可以，会再考虑的

Nokså sentral beliggenhet. Eget "parkeringshus", Enkel, men god frokost. Gratis Wifi og hyggelig betjening. Mye for pengene. Anbefales!

The hotel is very old. The room is opening light but it's still dark . Toilet is not good. Air conditioner is very noise, make us no sleep.

교통,직원친절도,택시이용권유(버스로 공항까지 충분히 찾아 갈 수 있음)등은 별로 그러나 가격저렴

無料でwifi(無線LAN）も使えますし、泊まるだけならば、問題なし。 古いのでやや汚い感じがありますので、日本のビジネスホテルクオリティを追及する人にはお勧めできないかもしれません。 立地は、ジャランペナンまで歩いて五分くらいの場所です。 安宿に慣れてる人にはお勧めです（お湯でも出るし）

外観・建物内部・部屋ともに、きれいというわけではありませんが、汚くもありません。 シャワー・トイレ、タオル、テレビ、エアコン・朝食付きでベッドと部屋が広く、ペナン通りへのアクセスも悪くなく、かつ、宿泊料金がリーズナブル。文句はありません！ 何よりのおすすめは5F（日本だと6F）の朝食スペースの眺めが良いこと！！ 朝食は食パンと簡単なジャム類、フルーツ、ジュース・コーヒー程度なので、外に食べに出ても良いと思いますが、町並みが見渡せるので、ここに宿泊されるのであれば、一度は上がってみることをおすすめします。 風通しもよく、気持ちがよいですよ！！ とにかく、ホテル滞在が目的でなく、お安く泊まりたい方にはおすすめします！！

This hotel is a ok budget hotel. I think the price is higher than what you get though. The location is good, close to the heritage part of the city. Within alking distance from chinatown and little india. The hotel seriously needs a face lift. The rooms are spacious and clean, but are grey and old fashion. The staff was very nice and helpful! Die Zimmer sind abgewohnt, die Klimaanlage laut, die Bettlaken und Handtücher müssten dringend ausgetauscht werden, das Frühstück ist eher unterer Durchschnitt und die Lage ist nicht ganz ideal. Trotzdem: wer für wenig Geld ein akzeptables Hotel mit kostenlosen WLan sucht kann hier zugreifen. Zumindest wenn es nur für ein paar Nächte ist.
