Nice location with free wifi. Excellent service and excellent hotel

Yeng Keng Hotel Penang. Chulia Street did not impress from the taxi, but it turned out to be part of a bustling and lively community. The hotel is on the main bus routes around Georgetown with easy (and cheap) access to Batu Feringhee, also by bus. Room clean and well serviced daily. Aircon a bit noisy, but effective. Hotel staff as helpful as could […] be and if you couldn't find something to like at the great inclusive buffet breakfast, then you are too fussy by far. Food pretty good in the evenings in a nice ambience. Free internet access, too. Certainly, the muezzin is loud, but so what? Try sleeping in a London hotel near the Wellington Barracks when they bring out the horses at 5.00 am. Better still, stay ay home if you don't want to sample other cultures. We were three in our party. My husband and I stayed in the Yeng Keng Suite, and my brother in the Chulia Suite. I can't rate this hotel highly enough. The location is brilliant. Right in the centre of Georgetown, a UNESCO site, but our rooms were extremely quiet and comfortable. The staff took great pride in their hotel and were very helpful, plus there […] always seemed to be someone cleaning, sweeping or polishing. We had a nightcap in the courtyard every evening after eating out, and breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked eggs, plus a generous buffet of fruit, european and local foods. Superb in every way. Small hotel, but very professionally run. All the staff are really nice, the rooms are immaculate. The attached cafe/restaurant is fantastic. Perfect location in Chulia St. Def stay there again if visiting.

The rooms are a bit small but comfortable for two or three nights and very clean. The ambiente is refined and the personnel at the reception is extremely helpful, friendly and patient! Will definitely recommend to our friends.

The Yeng Keng is a lovely hotel with loads of character. We rented their basic room; it was very small and although decorated quite nicely, it was very dark and a little depressing. It is certainly one of the better hotels that I have stayed. Clean and Cosy! The service is helpful and maybe too helpful! Highly recommended and will certainly come again!

Hotel well maintained and clean. Good helpful staff support. Manager Jackie very helpful. Good central location , near to almost all heritage sites and reasonable shopping malls. Easy access by bus and taxi.

I would most certainly return here, the prices were not cheap comparing others, but the rooms are super. The staff, were well trained and smiling and really knew their jobs well. Service was without doubt best I have ever had in Malaysia - many Singaporean hotels should take note..... 2 slight minus points: - Hotel Menu quite poor chocie for local […] food, especially considering the reputation of Penang as the best food in Malaysia - Using moth balls in the closets - very string smelling and really not needed! I stayed here on the recommendation of friend who in turn had followed recommendations on Trip Adviser. I was very pleased with the choice - great location, especially as my preferred mode of exploring is to do a lot of walking, and the hotel is central to most of the old Penang sights that you'll want to see. And of course turn in any direction and […] you'll find great food. The staff were all very helpful and courteous, including calling for a taxi to the airport on my boring of departure. The only less-than-ideal aspect was being put in one of the rooms right by the front door which was too close to the activities on the porch - breakfasts, dinners, evening drinks etc. If you can, ensure a room further back - and with an outlook, as I had no external view at all. My wife and I and a friend had two very comfortable rooms for eight nights in this restored historic mansion. The hotel is immaculate, the staff very helpful and the owner gave us knowledgeable guidance on the best places to eat in gastronomic heaven. The hotel is very well positioned and quiet in spite of the busy traffic. Excellent breakfasts include […] some hawker items. We would definitely stay here if we return to Georgetown. The customer services we received from the hotel staff was exceptionally good and the room was clean and comfortable. However, the area around the hotel was pretty horrible at night time as you can actually see some prostitutes and dodgy looking ppl standing around on the site streets. The facilities in the hotel are generally great however, the complimentary […] WIFI was really really slow. We couldn't even load up a web page to check our emails at all. Positive hotel features: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was new, immaculately clean and everything worked perfectly. Pool was refreshing. Negative hotel features: Room was small -- big enough for a king bed but not much more.

A beautiful heritage hotel in the heart of Georgetown. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, although we did find that when we used the hotel bar in the evening we had to repeatedly ask for the bill which was annoying! The hotel is surrounded by cheaper back packing hostels which means that there are a few bars along the road as well as a couple of […] hawker stalls if you're hungry! It is easy to walk to most places from the hotel, when we did use a taxi the hotel arranged this quickly and we were also able to get local buses along the road if you did want to travel further around the island. I spent a week visiting Malaysia as I used to live there and this was the best hotel of the week. Beautiful, great staff, nice pool to cool off in, great location in Penance. I would stay longer next time.

very good service. very nice decor. only complaint was that we got a room next to the check in counter. we were told that it was not noisy but it was, especially in the morning when ppl come down for breakfast. other then that there is nothing to complain about this hotel. gd place!

This is a recently renovated hotel (there are pictures on the walls of its previous incarnation), in typical Chinese style (with an open atrium in the centre of the building), and the result is beautiful. We stayed here for three nights, and really enjoyed our time here. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, with lovely authentic touches. […] Breakfast is included (with both Asian and western dishes), staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and there is a pool out the back for those days when you just feel like relaxing and cooling off. We had a shortl, wonderful stay at the Yeng Keng Hotel. It's a heritage site that was very recently renovated. We were very impressed at the care taken to research and restore the building, and the manager took the time to give us a detailed tour and tell us about the building's history. The common areas are beautifully furnished with antique and vintage […] furniture and art, and the grounds and pool area are nicely landscaped. We enjoyed a the delicious local breakfast provided each morning that featured Malaysian and Western goodies (scones, eggs, roti, curry, bee hoon, nasi lemak, dim sum, etc). Yeng Keng Hotel is in the heart of Georgetown, and we were able to walk to a variety of interesting place (e.g. LIttle India, mosques, Chinese temples and kongsi, galleries, colonial sites etc), not to mention the numberous restaurants and shops. The staff also helped us greatly with transportation and restaurant advice. We hope to visit Penang again soon and hope to stay for a longer time at the Yeng Keng Hotel. Baca selanjutnya

Einfach nur toll. Zimmer nachts sehr ruhig. Kleine Zimmer mit Styl und kleinem Pool. Sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr hilfsbereit. Kennen sich in Georgetown aus. Frûstûck perfekt. Alles sehr sauber. Einfach ein Traum.

スタッフの対応も気持ち良く、朝食をとるカフェもお部屋もインテリアが素敵です。 1Fのお部屋だったせいか、アリが多いので、封を開けたお菓子は絶対に放置しないで下さい。ジップロックか何かで完全密封しないと、とんでもないことになります。私は飲み終わったジュースの缶にアリが群がっててギョッとしました。

Vennlig service innstilt stab og god mat servert I elegant 30-talls "Parisienne" cafe komplett med fotoreproduksjoner fra den gamle Britiske koloni. Elegant utendoers svoemmebasseng. Vi anbefaler 2 roms suite. Vi vil bo der igjen.

日本から来た友人と一緒に1泊し、予想以上に快適でした。リノベーションしたてということもあり、隅々まで清潔。受付嬢もにこやかでサービス精神あり、プラナカンの情緒も残した造りで、街中なのに落ち着いた感じ。宿泊者がほとんど欧米人なのも、雰囲気がよかった理由かも。特に、ジョージタウンの古い町並みを楽しむなら、絶好の立地で、午前中の散策は、汗もかかずにすみました。室内は狭いけれど、シックで天井が高いため閉塞感がなかったのが良かった。ただ、通りに面しているので、夜中のバイク音など気になる人もいるかも。

虽然它的英文名叫人摸不到头脑，但等我们下了出租的时候却恍然大悟的笑出声来，原来就是燕京旅馆。它交通方便，去哪都不算很远。晚上酒店附近有很多大排档，美味并且廉价。门口就有公交站。虽然小但是干净的游泳池。唯一的遗憾是，房间太小太小了。另外浴室下水道好像有点堵塞。

A great hotel at a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything. Breakfast was a nice mixture of asian and western. Poolarea is small but very calm and a nice refugee from the busy streets. Would defintely stay here again!
