The Danna Langkawi - Langkawi

We booked 3 rooms at the Danna for a family holiday and we really enjoyed it. The service was top notch, the staff were very hospitable and the rooms were spacious and well laid out. The hotel itself is impressive (it adopts a colonial look) and has excellent facilities. The pool, in particular, is amazing. It's huge! For those traveling with children […] (like myself), the hotel has a Kiddies Play Room where there are toys, activities etc. for children to play with and a nanny can be hired to take care of your children if needed. The staff were all very professional and helpful. They were courteous and took a keen interest in us, especially our children. That said, there are some downsides: 1. The breach isn't the best. It's only OK so don't expect powder white sand and clear blue sea. 2. The hotel location is a bit far off from Kuah and Cenang (the busier spots on the island). It takes about 20-30 mins by car but the roads are easy to navigate. The hotel is, however, close to the cable car ride and related attractions which are a mere 5 mins away. 3. Hotel food can be pricey so unless you're willing to drive or walk out, be prepared to pay premium if you want to eat in the hotel (food quality is not bad though). (Note that car rentals are easy to do in Langkawi so driving around is not an issue, plus there's ample parking at the Danna.) Notwithstanding these downsides, the Danna is a great hotel. My wife and I stayed at the Danna from 11.03.12 to 16.03.12.The hotel ltself lived up to our high expectations. The facilities were excellent, and especially worthy of mention is their first class Spa. The beach is beautiful and quiet with no one trying to sell souvenirs to you. We had lunch on the beach three times and felt we were alone on a desert […] island. Perfect. The English of the staff varied from excellent to quite poor, but we also experienced the same in one of Singapore's best business hotels the week before, and it might be a general problem for top hotels in the region. With so many hotels competing for the best staff it might be impossible to ensure that all the staff have the necessary language skills. Still the Danna staff were a friendly bunch and very service minded and this helped to make up for it. Another minus was that internett connections were erratic and many times slow both in the bedroom and in the public areas. For those guests who need to attend to business mails during their holidays this could be problematic, but surely can be easily fixed by management. There is one last issue I wish to mention. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was its close proximity to a yachting marina with a number of restaurants which had received good reviews. I believe very few guests wish to eat all the time at their hotel no matter how good the food. Two of the restaurants did not have hygienic wash room facilities. I believe it would be in the Danna's best interests to establish a committee of all restaurant owners at or around the marina so that certain basic standards could be enforced. To end on a positive note the marina had one of the best restaurants( Privilege) we have ever eaten at in the Far East and we have visited and lived in the region for over 25 years. The Danna is a new hotel situated next to a marina about 1/2 hour from the airport. It is themed in the Colonial Malaysian style and everything about it is just perfect from the welcome to the departure including the food, the staff, the rooms, the pool, the location, the view and the ambiance. We highly recommend to families as well as couples. Hotel […] rooms are large and the beds comfy. We stayed as a family in 2 rooms which were not adjoining. The twin bed rooms are just as big and well appointed as the king bed rooms. The Olympic size infinity pool has lots of different shallow spa areas, has trees for shade and a bar that offers 2 for 1 drinks at happy hour. But the best part is the staff. From the elegant Colonial architecture to the stylish and expensive furnishings, the Danna exudes style and charm. Add impeccable service and a fantastic pool area and you've got the ideal recipe for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We cannot fault the Danna in any way. The themed evening buffet was quiet and refined with an army of chefs working open […] kitchen to ensure everything was fresh and of the highest possible quality. An excellent afternoon tea was better than we've had in 5 star Mayfair hotels (and much cheaper!). The a la carte fare was similiarly excellent with expecially good Chinese food - some of the best we've ever tasted. The one downside is that the grounds are quite small and the surrounding area features a rather dismal harbour and some fairly scuffy restaurants. I enjoyed everything about this hotel expect for the food, which was always cold. I reported this and hope that when we return this will have been rectified.

Great little touches such as fresh orange juice brought to the room for early morning departure, ice bucket filled with turn down service. At the pool old cloths were ganded out as well as iced water. On down side the menu was great for evening buffet but food was tepid. There seemed to be a lack of space round the beautiful pool for loungers but other […] areas were not utilized and the loungers on the beach were hard plastic and uncomfortable. Room was spacious, beautiful and clean but balcony was not kept clean and we ended up with ants. Balcony furniture was not maintained in great state - had sun damage. Booked three nights with my wife and daughter, based on recommendation from my brother who stayed there 3 nights. Lovely hotel by the waterfront,wonderful service,attentive and receptive staff.thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The pool overlooking the beach was impressive, so also was the movie on the beach. My family and my sister's family (a total of 9 people) stayed 3 nights at The Danna last week. We were met with a very friendly reception upon arrival. We were provided with free refreshing cold drinks and shoulder massage while we were checking in. The shoulder massage was a real bonus. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, especially the swimming pool […] area. However, the pool water is a little bit murky. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint is flies and ants. But then we are in a troprical country. The food is of good quality and variety. If you do not fancy having meals at the hotel, there are many other restaurants in the neighbourhood. You will not be running out of choices there. We had also gone for a 4 hours jet ski tour via the hotel. The staff is very helpful in making the arrangement for us. It is rather expansive but the experience is worth it. Even my 6 years old son enjoy it a lot except for the return journey when the sea was a little bit rough. It is quite safe if you follow the instructions. On the whole, we had a great time there. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially for the honeymoon couples. We saw the hotel staff arranging the table and settings for a romantic dinner at the beach. It is absolutely beautiful and romantic. A wonderful hotel with unbelievable seaviews, excellent facilities and lovely staff. Its a great getaway location. If you go to Langkawi, stay at The Danna!

one of, if not the best hotel we ever stayed in. amazing rooms, food, location, pool etc etc etc the staff are the real gem and i've never seen a hotel where 100% of the staff were so genuinely motivated to look after our every whim constantly. we moved here from another hotel we were booked into which was terrible. we thought our week in langkawi was […] to be a disaster but The Danna completely turned it around and we had the best 5 nights stay we could have wished for. we will be returning to this fantastic hotel. and this hotel will hopefully become the number one hotel in langkawi in no time at all. do not consider anywhere else Baca selanjutnya

最高に気持ちの良いホテルでした。 施設はもちろんのこと、ホテルの方みなさんがホスピタリティに溢れていて、あの居心地の良い空間を作り出しているのだと感じました。 プールとビーチが見える側のお部屋で、到着した夜はたまたまビーチから花火が上がる日だったらしく、到着するやいなや花火が上がり、素晴らしい歓迎を受けました。 のんびりリゾートを満喫したい時は、ぜひもう一度訪れたいホテルです。ありがとうございました。

因为带着孩子，所以我们度假一定选择好在海边的酒店。之前看了点评网，然后就定了7个晚上的住宿！噢，非常不错的酒店。是2010年11月份刚建好的，所以很新，非常不错。我们住的房间，酒店还给我们加了小床了，女儿一个人睡得很舒服的！ 酒店的早餐也非常丰富，还有粥呢，很适合我们亚洲人的！周围也比较安静，实实在在的度假！我说我们以后如果再去LANGKAWI,我们还是会再去THE DANNA。

お部屋もプールも広く、ゆったりと過ごせました！ 朝食ビュッフェの種類も多く、美味しくて毎日食べ過ぎてしまった位。 ホテルがヨットハーバーの近くにあり、夕食はヨットハーバーで頂く事も出来、立地的にも満足です。 また、是非滞在したいと思わせるホテルでした☆ 有難うございます♪

酒店非常设施非常新，所以都非常舒适和干净。服务很周到和热情。如果租一辆车，从酒店到岛上任何一个地方都很便捷。我在danna 住了3天，然后去了tungjun rhu住了3天。 后者的酒店设施明显过于陈旧，当然后者度假村里的景色很迷人。总结：danna你享受的是酒店的舒适，tungjun rhu 你享受的是内部的自然景色

いわゆるコテージやヴィラタイプではなく、あくまでホテル。 なのでコスト的には比較的安価で泊まれるかも。 ホテルなので、客室にリゾートっぽさはないものの、清潔さ、広さ（特にバスタブのゆったり感はうれしい！）は満足もの。 おすすめはプール。かなり広いので、泳ぎ好きの大人も存分に泳ぎを楽しめる！もちろん小さい子供も楽しめる浅いプールもあるので安心。プールサイドのソファ（デッキチェア）でゆっくりお昼寝や読書を楽しみながら、プールのバーでドリンクをオーダーしたりして、贅沢な時間です。 ビュッフェタイプの朝食もGOOD！パンはホテルで焼いているのか、どれもとてもおいしい。フルーツを絞って提供しえいる（と思われる）ジュースは絶品。 素敵な時間を過ごさせてくれたDANAに感謝です！

Et helt fantastisk hotell. Ble tatt imot av et hyggelig, sjarmerende og svært imøtekommende personale, og det fortsatte slik gjennom hele vårt opphold. Hotellet er nybygd i britisk kolonistil og alle fellesrom og utearealer er tiltalende og flotte. Rommet var stort og komfortabelt med et virkelig stort, delikat og luksuriøst bad. Utearealet med basseng […] er som en drøm. Dette er virkelig et paradis! Frokost med stort utvalg, og meget god mat i restauranten på hotellet. Man må ta drosje for å komme til andre tettsteder med butikker, men man har egentlig ikke lyst til å dra andre steder når en først har kommet til The Danna. Kan også anbefale yoga-timene som tilbys.
