Hotel Hacienda de Vallarta Centro - Puerto Vallarta

While we were unaware that the hotel is located near the gay district, it wasnt a problem at all. The hotel is located within walking distance to the beach and has numerous authentic mexican resturants located nearby. This hotel had friendly staff. They had a beautiful lobby. They had a nice clean pool. They had a very nice area with tables next to the lobby area that was great for gathering together. With all of that said, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR." I needed a room in PV that would hold 6 people. This hotel was the only one I found in town that could accommodate […] me. Our room was not in very good condition (although the maid did what she could to make a polished turd look half-way decent). The traffic outside of my room went on at a high decibel 24 hours a day which made sleep very difficult. The first night I woke up cuddling a cockroach. Now, I am sure the cockroach didn't mind but I had my reservations. The hotel is a few blocks from the beach which I was aware of so this was not an issue. The TV did not have a remote control so prepare to have someone stand on a chair and move the channels around until you find something half-way decent to watch (By the way...this person has to be a good friend because they will be turning channels for awhile). POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT ROOM: 1) The shower had awesome water pressure! This is hard to find in Mexico. Also unending hot water! 2) The room comfortably fit 6 people in 3 beds. 3) There is a great place two blocks toward the beach to eat breakfast....it's called "The Pancake House." Try the 'Plain Jane French Toast'. 4) The room is far enough from the ocean that by the time you get home you will be completely dry. CONCLUSION: It was a great price! But, you get what you pay for. My advice is that if you need a very economical place this is it! However, bring your earplugs for sleep and get used to not sleeping alone. That cockroach likes to cuddle. Baca selanjutnya

The short: Very acceptable accommodations 1 block from Oxxo, 2 blocks from the river and shopping, 4 blocks from the beach/malecon, 6 blocks from downtown. Day staff was EXTREMELY helpful with our questions about directions/buses and even helped us out with a tour they they didn't sell. Sink water line burst on the first day there and we were in a fresh […] new room within 20 minutes. Local cabbie could not believe how much we paid for the location. We had a great time! The long: The hotel recently (within the last year or so) switched names to become the second Hacienda de Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta. This confused our taxi driver and caused an unnecessary 45 minute taxi ride (my fault for not printing out the address!) He was certain that for the price we were at their first location which is nestled between a subway and a strip club on the noisy main hotel row. I insisted we were just south of the main cathedral and he would not accept that we only paid what we did for that location. We arrived at 6am and the night receptionist was not professional looking at all. He was nice but said that we had to wait until 7 for his replacement to actually check us in. He gladly took our bags and we walked around for a while. We returned at 6:50 and sat in the lobby waiting to be checked in. I was getting cranky at around 7:20 when I finally asked him what the deal was and suddenly he had the power to just give us a key. I am still not sure why this didn't happen at 6 but whatever. Beds were made, rooms were spacious. The tile floor in the bathroom looked dirty but when I tried to clean off the black film with some water I realized it was just stained and not actually dirty. All in all a decent room with acceptable beds and a view of the small/medium pool in the courtyard. We weren't in the room all that much, so it was fine for us. We came down a few hours later and the front desk person was now wearing a uniform and looked much more professional. They recommend a restaurant Baca selanjutnya
