Stay

The hotel was nice the pool and gym was closed and we had to switch rooms due to a bug problem other than that the staff was nice and funny and it was quite comforting

Very nice room and bathroom. Not a lot of breakfast options but plenty of restaurants around the hotel.

I believe the property is still fixing up the hotel as it was formally Best Westrrn…still need to work on the elevator because it looked condemned…there was homeless people outside the hotel and they need to work on security on controlling how they let the homeless people come up to the door…felt a little unsafe…the room was nice and the customer arrive was good

After being put up on the Quality Inn in Charleston, West Virginia for two nights by my company..I was glad to be out of that crappy hotel and into this CLEAN and updated hotel with comfortbale beds and pillows and clean soft towels.

Room was clean but hotel itself needs major upgrades. Only 1 working elevator. Staff was courteous and pleasant.

With this hotel, you get what you pay for. It is an older hotel, so there are some expected shortcomings. They are in the process of renovating but there is a long way to go before it is completed. Pros: price, location, updated and clean rooms, friendly staff, free parking, free wifi. Cons: outside is in very poor condition, only one working elevator and it working is a stretch, hallways are hot and humid, housekeeping left bags of trash and dirty sheets from multiple rooms in the hallway overnight, their website says free breakfast but there was none and we was told to go to the hotel next door for breakfast. Not a terrible stay for the price but be aware of why the price is cheap.

The staff was great. The property needs some major updates and it appears that is in the works. Room was clean.

great location and great price. the only gripe would be the cleanliness of the bathtub: it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't spotless. a little soap grime that was unpleasant after a long flight and needing a hot bath to soak in.

Everything was great except the small ancient elevators

We were going to a showing at the Clay Center and it was so convenient to stay there. Only a three minute walk. They do need some kind of mat or something in the bathtub for safety.

Everything was excellent except the parking lot which had dead trees, weeds in walkways and uncut grass. For very little money, you make a much better first impression.

2/10 Poor

Arrived at the Charleston Tower hotel to find it completely empty. A sign on the door said the hotel was shut down for renovations and that our reservation would be honored next door at the Quality Inn. We received no prior email, call, or text from either the hotel or Expedia informing us about the situation!!! The staff at Quality Inn were friendly and efficient but the parking lot was unsecured and adjacent to a homeless mission. When leaving the next morning, there were numerous homeless people in the area as well as a few that had set up temporary overnight shelter in the parking lot of the hotel!!! It was not like this the previous afternoon when we were checking in. We didn’t have any problems but this issue certainly needed to be mentioned. On top of that, there were never any cars or workers present at the Charleston Tower hotel which leads me to believe that there are no renovations taking place either!

There was no room service. Breakfast was at the quality inn next door. The motel was under renovation and the price was still 100 dollars a night

Best Western in Charleston WV a Nice Place to Stay

I had a couple of friends who came in from out of state to see a concert. They needed a place to stay. I recommended Best Western since it was across the street from the Clay Center. The room was very clean and had all that they needed for the evening. The next morning they enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast before checking out. The lady that was on duty when I went to help them check in was extremely nice and very helpful.

Overall it was a good experience. I had read about the elevators and although we didn’t experience long wait times they were a bit of a needed upgrade. It was noisy with sirens and someone decided to honk their horn in the parking lot for 30 minutes at 5:30am. Would definitely stay again but again noisy then where we usually stay.

The only downside was that it took a very long time to get the water hot, and there was very little water pressure.
