Lady who checked us in was nice just be sure you know you’re paying for what you get. This hotel is cheap for a reason. Not clean at all and very run down

Stay elsewhere

Terribly old hotel. Unsanitary rooms with hard bed. No accommodations provided and staff nowhere to be found.

2/10 Poor

Unable to check in- no one at the desk. Obviously a drug residence

10/10 Exceptional

The staff was very helpful. It seemed empty but in the evening it was packed. You would never know because everyone was very respectful and it was always quiet. The inside was clean, warm, and never had an issue with anything. I extended my stay here. And recommend it to anyone coming through Torrington. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

TV didnt work. Shower was mostly cold. Door didnt lock. Unfavorable guests

2/10 Poor

This hotel filthy!! It is extremely run down. There is missing trim and the doors are flimsy and not secure for safety. The entrance is unkept and someone has set up a lawn chair and sits in the back entry and drinks beer and smokes. There are cigarette butts everywhere. They do not have a breakfast as advertised but I wouldn’t eat there anyway. It’s the grossest dirtiest place I’ve stayed in. It’s extremely out dated and just plain nasty

6/10 Good

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The motel has need of significant upkeep, repair, and maintenance. The toilet tank in room 123 is not secure--it tips and leaks. The staff has been working for 3 weeks to get the electronic door locks working, but there are still issues to be solved. The key tokens for room 139 also open room 260. Room 139 opens without any tokens. Making the King's Inn serviceable again will take significant investment.

bed bugs, black mold, and cockroaches.

bed bugs, black mold, and cockroaches. that's all I have to say. don't stay here unless its the only place you can afford. it needs investigated by the heath department..it not healthy staying here for more than a couple days due to the black mold. had to stay for a week and left with bites all over me, was super itchy, and had a headache for days after I left. they didn't even give me a warning about there being mold or bugs before I checked in and when I asked if they have problems with bed bugs often the manager said "we've had flees before, but not bed bugs" which I'm pretty sure is a lie..

Dirty hotel

I don’t care if a hotel is old and humble. But it should be clean. I am hoping that the sheets were clean. The bathroom was horrible. The shower/tub has not been cleaned in a long time. Soapscum dirt mold and mildew. So we did not use it. I cleaned the toilet and sink myself so they were usable. I did not want to content with other peoples tootpaste hair and other nasties. The breakfast would have been alright if there had been individual butter and jam and a clean coffeepot. Again little and humble is ok. The bathroom of the lobby was horrible which i told the gal upfront. All she said was ok. And the overwhelming air freshener didnt make it smell good but gave us a broad hint that smells were covered up. Also they were so over powering that my husband sat up a few times at night in order to catch his breath. I have no idea what happened to this hotel. I know you get what you paid for but this was dirty over the top. If there had been roommates available somewhere else we would have moved.

Needs some maintenance
Bruce, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The hotel is totally run down. Pictures are not true representations. First room - toilet didn’t work at all. Second room - had to take the toilet lid off to get it to flush. No security chain or bar on the door. Security locks on outer doors were inoperable. Parking lot was awful. Smell of dog feces was strong at entry. Entire property was so bad I left. Was worried about my own safety.
Candace, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

no breakfast available, several barking dogs, key card didn't work for my second day and had to be reset. Excellent air-conditioning during very hot days, comfortable beds, and the staff tried to be as helpful as they could. The rooms were very clean but the overall campus itself was not well taken care of.
Deborah, 2-night trip

Awful

Waiting 30 minutes to get checked in after the room was already paid for online was ridiculous and set the tone for the rest of the stay. Will not stay here again.
Lance, 1-night trip

I've never seen a motel so challenging to notice from the nearby road. Looked deserted from two sides and I actually drove by it wondfering where the place actually was.
