Perfect location, very original concept, nice rooms, tasty dinner, very close to Petra, bakeries and restaurants, Abdulrahman is amazing! He was very friendly, attentive and helpful! He kindly helped me for organizing my trips, advised me which places I should visit, booked the bus etc. (thank you so much again for your professionalism and your kindness if you read this message!). Best value for money in Petra! Looking forward to coming again soon!!

Initially I viewed the numerous glowing reviews with scepticism but after spending 2 nights here I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. For one thing, the location was ideal - a mere short walking distance to the Petra main entrance! Then the price was low for the quality offered. Granted a double room with an attached bathroom did not figure in the picture. Instead we slept in a Japanese-style futon which turned out to be very comfortable. The heating was centralised but raised or lowered on demand. Normally shared bathrooms tend to be contentious but we had no issue either with the number nor the quality. After all, they were well-maintained and there was never a shortage of toiletries, toilet paper and other necessities. When you check in you will immediately notice a huge comfortable lounge where the more social will gravitate towards. The complimentary coffee and tea is self-service and available at all times of the day (& night). Hang around after dinner and you will be pleasantly surprised to be served some munchies while you relax. Anything that a guest would require has been or is waiting to be provided. For example, after a long day out and if you feel not up to the 1km long walk to the Wadi Musa village to get food, Petra Cabin offers a delicious buffet dinner for 7JOD. And a plus point is that their 5JOD buffet breakfast is ready at 06:30 so you don’t waste time starting your day. The staff is a fount of information (& willing to share it!) for travel related issu

I was a bit surprised to see this has such good reviews since this is average at best although for the price could be a very good at best but not excellent First they did not have our reservation when we checked in and it was a bit stressing since we reserved a few weeks in advance, eventually reception had to figure it out with the reservation dept. The guy at the reception was very friendly but not really helpful I have to say, he promised he would get us tickets to Petra by night but once we got there he said we should do it on our own (guess he doesn’t get a commission). They offer breakfast at 6AM but if you are counting to have it sharp at 6 to go early to Petra…think again because it is not ready then…we had a very basic cereal, bread juice on the first day….the second day we did not have breakfast there and went outside. The cabins are ok… a bit confined but once you get used to it is quite fine…you get a good night sleep on it actually. To access the reception you need to climb 5 stories through the emergency ladder and this takes a toll after you spend 10 hours walking and have to climb that to get back to your cabin. Bathrooms and showers are ok although in need of maintenance. The highlight is the location definitely…literally a stone throw away from the Petra entrance.

Abed is the friendliest host you will come across. Don't let the entrance to the hostel fool you (there's alot of re-developments in the area so coming up the stairs to the hostel isn't the most attractive!), the inside of the hostel is very clean including the bathrooms (with great showerheads!). The cabin beds are good value for money and surprisingly quiet. I would opt for the breakfast and buffet dinner - so good!
