Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel

I accidentally booked a suprise night for me and my wife redeeming a reward night + the difference on my CC Day before what i thought was my stay i started getting emails asking about my stay. I called hotel only to realize i had screwed up, asking to push reservation to next day. Hotel said they couldnt help because i used a 3rd party. Hotels.com did not answer because of a technical issue. Bad service by hotel whoul could have chose to help me and didnt. Bad tech support by hotels.com who couldnt connect me that night. When i called hotels the next day, it was too late to get my refund. Very dissapointing

They clearly don't expect you to want to work.... I got there early Sunday and had a lot of work to do, but no desk in the room?? So I called and asked if I could use the "club room" I was promised access to, and they said it was closed. Hardly business traveler friendly!

Hotel location and service was awesome, plus they serve our favorite Illy coffee. Both eating places serve pretty good food and rooftop view is amazing. Room was big and spacious. However, it was not as clean as we expected. The room and the bathroom had smell of sour wet cloth that was used to clean the restroom as well as the room. The toilet bowl smelled of urine from the first day. There is no fan in the bathroom and 1 hook for the towel. The string that can be used to hang additinal towels can only be used after you take a shower, but due to lack of fan towels can barely get dry. We would stay here again because of amenities and service, but there should be something done about cleaning services.
