The coastal town of Haugesund is not far away and here there is an incredible amount to do for the whole family. Also visit Vikingland on Karmøy, about 60 km from the holiday home. Day trip to the Hardangerfjord with fruit flowering and glacier change. The national monument, Haraldshaugen about 60 km from the holiday home, in memory of Harald Hårfagre's collection of Norway in 872 is worth a visit. The monument is located by the ruins of the stone church on Gard where Harald Hårfagre is supposed to be buried. At Visnes mining museum, there is a large open-air area with the old mine (which goes 730 meters into the depths), the smelting hut, the administration building, two workers' houses and the french garden. Copper from Visnes was used in the construction of the famous Statue of Liberty in New York. In Etnaevlva (30 km from the holiday home) and in Vikedalselva (40 km away) are char and trout.
