First timers to NYC
Checked in approximately 9pm but my wife made the reservation for me and my son so we had no problems checking in. The hotel checkin was pleasant and the employee very friendly. We stayed on the 5th floor and although hotel has some age it was decent. Hallway was smelling of cigarette smoke and heavy air freshener. The room was smelling strong of air freshener and my wife would not be able to stay here due to asthma but she didn’t travel with us. That’s the only negative about this property. Good location close to Times Square.

It was a last minute stay, my stay was less then what I expected, the bed smelled like smoke and I was told it was a no smoker room.

I was in NY for an overnight visit for a doctor appointment. I needed a decent place to sleep. I felt a bit apprehensive at first since there was no lobby. The clerk was in what appeared to be a telephone booth. He was very pleasant. I arrived at night but still felt safe. The rooms were smaller than expected but clean. The beds were very comfortable. It was a perfect location to walk to all the sites. The Red Flame diner next store was fantastic. Great service and food.

This was my second time staying here. This time I was disappointed with the poor condition of the rooms. They are not keeping the rooms up. The beds are lumpy, the carpet is dirty. The bathroom was nicely upgraded but the bathroom door was badly chipped on the bottom and just an eyesore. All it needed was a little spackle and some paint. The wallpaper in the room was dirty and in some spots separated from the wall and just another eyesore. They stock the refrigerator with drinks. I drank one Bottle of water and was charged for every bottle that i brought into the room that didn’t belong to them. They ran my credit card four times, holding and charging at their will and whim and without communicating with me and thereby charging erroneously. If that wasn’t enough they don’t have coffee in the rooms nor access to hot water. The service was nice and the people are nice. I just sensed a spirit of greed with the lack of upkeep.

Spring for the more expensive rooms
The staff we very nice and the place seemed very discreet. However don't stay in room 209. When I say it was tiny I'm being generous. The mattress was slanted in and down making for a not so restful night's sleep. Also the tv bracket was loose and I was afraid to adjust it towards the bed.
