Courtyard by Marriott John Wayne Airport/Orange County

Excellent place second time we are here the only thing the front parking is small and fills up and the larger one is in the back and some walking Also the toilet is very noisy when u flush and the same last time and now otherwise it is a great place to stay in

Poor service at the desk. Elevator out of service. Except the one all the way in the back. Parking was a mile away. With the sine doors locked so you could not enter on the side by the garage. Had to walk all the way around to the front to re-enter. Haad to carry ice chest upstairs because the Bell carts were out of site around the corner. It would have been nice if they offered us one of them. Then I was charged an additional $10 for parking ( not told about it). Disappointed stay.

My wife and I stayed at this Marriott Courtyard during Covid 19. We felt very safe with the hotel’s policy on masks and cleaning rooms during this time. I did wish that the pool hours were extended since we were on vacation. While we were there Justin was extremely helpful with our requests and questions. If we did not bring an item the front desk made sure to find it for us. The jacuzzi was down during the later part of our stay. We had our take out dinner in front of the fire pit which was lovely. We appreciate that this location was open we have stayed there numerous times.

Very clean and friendly facility that luckily was not busy. The hotel definitely needs a major update in the rooms. The lobby looks great- no major updating is needed there. Inside the room, I expected disinfecting wipes in the rooms as stated in the Marriot website; none were placed in the room. I was also unable to check in with the Marriott app because I used hotels.com to book the room. The bathroom no longer gives out individual toiletries so the pictures on hotels.com should be removed. Instead there are full size toiletries attached to the walls for guests to use. I did appreciate that parking is only $10 and right outside of the lobby. It is easy to leave and return from the property without a problem. I also enjoyed having a balcony and AC unit attached to the room. No central AC system and that is truly a huge plus in the covid era. Honestly the price is a bit pricy for the outdated room, but the service is great.

Checked in on June 12, as Orange County is just starting to open up after the StayatHome order. So, a few things were a little strange. All of the doors around the hotel were locked. You could only enter through the front door, which was also locked at 3:00 in the afternoon. Inside, all the lights in the lobby were turned down or off. It looked like they were closed. We checked in easily, but the agent didn’t explain anything, such as what amenities were closed or what was available. I asked for recommendations for breakfast the next morning and basically got nothing. However, the room itself was clean and fresh. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel location was great for visiting our daughter in Newport Beach and for exploring the surrounding area. Very close to the Orange County/John Wayne Airport. We'll stay here again, and would definitely recommend it.

I loved that our room was right off the pool so my granddaughter could get to eat easily. I loved the little porch just outside the door. I loved that the sink was not in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the service was friendly. I did not appreciate that they charged $10 to park our car and they didn’t tell us about that. I just saw it in the bill after I checked out.

At first I thought it was going to be a nice stay, but I noticed a stains on the pillow case, which I was not happy about because that just made me check everything else like the sheets and such. Also what I really didn’t like was the 10 dollar charge for parking!! Guests shouldn’t have to pay that if they’re the guests! It would be nice if you guys state in advance that there is a 10 dollar charge for parking.

I was checked in to a room that was not clean. My card key failed to open the side doors from the parking garage out back so I had to walk around to the front of the hotel to get inside in the dark. The person at the desk just said “sometimes that happens”. Ok so then I went to my room and the key card failed to open my room. I had to walk back to the front desk to get another key. The room and bathroom were clean (in the 2nd room) but would I recommend this hotel? No

The property is quite dated. All decoration and items in the room are from the eighties and they look like it too. The cleaning staff do a good job with cleaning but the place looks the same. It was OK to spend the night but will consider other options when staying in the area.

I arrived in the evening after a long flight I was then mislead after I confirmed with the airport employee and the shuttle driver the location of my hotel and was taken to the wrong marriott property (Irvine Towers). From there I had to take an Uber to the correct property. I was checked into a dirty room without any blankets or bath amenities. I booked a king bed and was given two doubles. The front desk staff was not informative. They did NOT confirm the details of my reservation before handing keys. The staff could not offer any local suggestions for food or night life. I asked about the hotel menu and they were not familiar. I am completely disappointed with my stay. I expect more from a Marriott property.
