Mercure Sheffield St Paul's Hotel & Spa

Very good hotel, got breakfast in bed which was great. The hotel was in a good location, lots of shops around it, good bars/pubs about.

Perfectly fine hotel with a few touches of luxury. Late check-out (midday) and long breakfast period were great! Nice views over peace gardens, great central location, and a well decorated, spacious room. However, for the price paid I would have expected a little more. The aircon was an old unit that pumped out the same temperature air regardless of setting (too warm for my preference) and no openable window to allow some cold air in. Being in a room next to the lifts meant the sound of the lift mechanisms carried into the room quite loudly. The combination of these meant I didn't get a great night's sleep. Breakfast was good, however as I was eating alone, my table was cleared every time I went up for food/drink, wasting a couple of pots of coffee, and at one point meaning I had to move tables as other guests had been seated in my place. All small details that would normally be overlooked, but not up to the same standard of similarly priced hotels elsewhere.

Great stay, only recommendation would be to revise breakfast pricing

Help if your disabled - None. Despite the hotel saying they have good disability services they do not. When asked for help it was lacking. The dietary requests for breakfast were not done. Parking was offered as I have A blue badge then told no. Rooms were offered early then not ready. Bathroom was not clean. Bed was uncomfortable and the room was boiling and noisy nd the manager rude. When we asked for a refund he only offered some of the parking
