Absolutely gorgeous hotel and room. However, a few things did not impress us. First, they could not find our reservation. Second, there was only one restaurant open in the hotel and it was closed for the day for a private event, which means that we had no access to one of the amenities we were paying for. We had to request bedding for the fold out sofa, and had to make the request twice before someone finally came up.

The only negative we have about the room we stayed in was one thing. We had a fabulous full size kitchen but it was NOT stocked with utensils, cookware, or glassware that would have been helpful with our stay. EVERYTHING else was wonderful!

This was my third stay at the Mayo Hotel since 2019. I was disappointed that many of the amenities that I had enjoyed were not available. I understand that this is part of the pandemic’s effect on the industry. I would have appreciated being notified ahead of time by the hotel that things like the shuttle, or the ability to get simple breakfast food like fruit, yogurt or a hard boiled egg would not be available. After visits to other hotels I don’t see this happening anywhere at this time. The significant experience at the Hotel Mayo came in an encounter with the hotel’s barrista in the coffee shop. The young man was very rude and made me so uncomfortable I checked out a day early and left. I let the woman at the desk know of my experience and traded multiple calls with the hotel manager. I would have appreciated him scheduling a call so that two busy working people could have connected. I finally gave up and know without a doubt I will never stay here again. Additionally there was mold in my shower as well as the shower and bathroom being dirty. This was corrected the second day.
