    Very disappointed

    When we arrived at the hotel we were told that there had been an issue with one part of the hotel and they only had a twin room available. After a little bit of thought he said there was one room with a king sized bed available. We asked about breakfast but due to the chef being pinged on the track and trace app which was OK. The room was not very clean, was not air conditioned and we had to ask for an additional fan. There was one tiny window due to the room layouts and as a consequence due to this was not comfortable. I felt sorry for the staff and when we checked out the guy on reception said the next time you come you will have a better experience. I explained we wouldn't be coming back. And whoever did the wallpapering in the bar needs to go to specsavers. The wallpaper was a library, and the wallpaper had been hung upside down!!! Not very happy and while I understand that issues happen, even allowing for this not a happy experience.

    Poor stay

    We didnt get our original room we booked - we were rung to say we had been moved to the only available room a twin. We accepted this as there was no where else to stay and we were already in the area. When we arrived we were told no restaurant as Chef had been pinged so we had evening meal out and bought supplies to eat in room for breakfast. Room was at the bottom of a dirty and poorly maintained corridor. Room was dirty and basic, chocolate wrapper behind cabinet near bed - so not hoovered. Carpet felt tacky. Bathroom - sink taps were very wobbly and the shower was broken. Terrible room - the whole place (away from reception) needs decorating properly, it was quite vile. We did say this to the reception person who apologised, but still not nice on a very rare weekend away.

    No restaurant or breakfast available

    When we booked this hotel it was described as having a restaurant and that breakfast was available. However, we were disappointed to find that this description was completely false. The restaurant was closed so no evening meals or breakfasts were available. We ended up having to eat at a Burger King in the evening and buy some food to eat in our room for breakfast. We originally booked for two nights, but the lack of a restaurant meant we were forced to curtail our stay. We feel Hotels.com should have made the lack of facilities clear on the booking page. At no time were we made aware of the problems at the hotel. The confirmation email also stated breakfast could be booked at the hotel and that there was a restaurant on site. We feel strongly that this sorry tale could have been avoided. If only we had known in advance we would have booked somewhere else.

    We can’t praise the Hotel enough , we had the warmest of welcome from the owners Queen size bed , spotless clean room, quite location , central to , Warwick , Stratford , leminton Spa , Hugh car park Modern decor throughout ,all in All very peaceful relaxing break, for us , just one there is a restaurant but not open just yet with government restrictions , but already , they have an impressive menu ready, & waiting , ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Furious!!

    Got back to the hotel at 11.15pm after working late, all doors were locked and the door bell didnt work and none of the contact numbers to front desk worked and no one were available. I found another hotel at 1.30am luckily. Was given refund the next day but I was still £15 out of pocket. I was not happy at all as I was not told the front doors are locked at 11pm at night! I was furious

    Great Stay

    Mercure was the best hotel stay so far it was very clean very comfy. Everything was perfect, Only downside was no food or bar due to covid where other hotels did offer this.

    Hotel needs a little TLC but the service is top notch. There is a lady on reception who i cant remember her name but she was fantastic. she couldnt do enough to help me. I believe her son also works there and she deserves credit.
