Positives
- Good location.
- Fresh and clean, with some exceptions.
Negatives
- Broken kitchen equipment.
- Lack of kitchen equipment (e.g., spatula, plates, etc.).
- The TV didn't work.
Incident
Fire alarm went off; no one to contact. During our stay, the fire alarm in the stairwell went off. It turned out to be a malfunction; the alarm blared at full volume every two hours throughout the night.
We received no response from the accommodation's contact person. We had to call the fire department ourselves to silence the alarm the next morning, after a night without sleep.
As of writing this (Tuesday, Aug 19), a week and a half has passed since the incident, and we still haven't received any explanation or follow-up. We’ve just been passed around from person to person.
Until last week, we were in contact with Hotels.com, who promised to investigate the incident and tentatively promised us compensation. But now, they are no longer responding.
The way both the accommodation management and Hotels.com have handled this is completely unacceptable.
The fire alarm incident was unfortunate, of course, and not something that could be foreseen. But the question remains: how would they have acted if there had been an actual fire?
Summary

- Poor communication and follow-up after the incident from both Hotels.com and the accommodation management.
- The whole family (including two small children) couldn't sleep all night.
