Great room and dinner- rooms were exactly what we expectedy

The reputation of this hotel precedes itself and although I had stayed there some years ago, I wanted to repeat the experience. The wonderful hospitality, delicious restaurant cuisine and comfortable rooms in a serene garden setting. Strangely, I remember little of driving from Adelaide to the Barn just outside of Mount Gambier. As I pulled up to the property I remember being greeted by a lovely young lady who opened my door and offered to take my luggage. Although all of wishes were granted from the time that I arrived, I had trouble believing that I was actually there. I simply have little recollection of even eating in the award winning restaurant or sleeping in the comfortable bed. It is as if my stay was something of a dream like experience. Although I know that this is a fine hotel, when I awoke to a new day, I was back in Adelaide and I was having trouble even remembering visiting this place. Did I actually go there or was it just a illusion?

Set in the country among beautiful gardens The Barn was clean and tidy, staff were professional and friendly. There is a steakhouse on site.

Spacious room, beautiful grounds. Quiet country setting

OK but could do with updating and a makeover. I guess the hype is associated with its restaurant. Internally OK but outdated TV and amenities.

Absolutely amazing

Large room, good bed, smart bathroom and all amenities readily available.

I would advise all visitors to double check their invoices. The staff made errors charging the room, mini bar and room service. I eneded up with 4 seprate transactions on my card over 2 starements. Very unprofessional.
