Old Crown Hotel

Careful if checking in late in the evening, when I arrived there was no manager and I was checked in by one of the pub's barstaff who was not fully knowledgeable about the staying over guests side of things, like where the right key was for the room. Room not checked before I came, light bulb not working, had to wait for it to be replaced as only one in the room. Was meeting friends and had to get changed in the shared bathroom whilst waiting for access to my room. Otherwise relatively clean and comfortable for the price and location. Would suggest you only stay if you are there to be out all night yourself as it is in an area of bars and clubs and was very noisy until 4am on a Saturday.

The Old Crown is a stunning building with fantastic history. Our room was huge and immaculately clean. You really felt as if you were living in a piece of history with crooked walls, uneven floors etc. However, it isn't the place to stay on a Saturday night with children. Mostly our fault as we didn't research a) the pub opening hours and b) the local area, so it was very busy noisy and we couldn't find anywhere to eat locally that would take children. Again, not a fault of the pub, mainly us choosing the wrong day to go. Really central for anyone wanting to be close to the nightclubs. The pub has a huge heated beer garden, again great for anyone wanting a good night out. Would come back, but without the children next time!

Stay in historic Inn Lovely old building, one of the oldest in Birmingham We had a the family room which is ensuite,. Very old with beams, but modern shower in a large bathroom, and comfortable beds

A very old grade 2 listed building With an atmospheric feeling which any history lovers will enjoy. We booked this hotel with the Peaky Blinders tour which was brilliant and had the pleasure of just going upstairs to bed after a great evening. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Although anyone with walking difficulties would not be able to go up the very old staircase. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel! I'd avoid the place if you want to get to sleep early, though - the bar is very busy, and was open until 1am (Friday and Saturday). 'd also recommend the breakfast - it wasn't expensive, and was significantly better than average.

Very old building - lots of history and interesting features

I stayed here with my Mother in law in the family suite. It was an adventure. First off, how fun to stay in an historic building!? This place was just full of character and interesting history. The service was amazing, the entire staff was helpful and kind, full of energy. The food was delicious! Its well located, walking distance to the Bull Ring.

Unique is the word- a genuine medieval building in the heart of a big and mostly modern city.
