Residence Inn Champaign

We were extremely disappointed with this particular Residence Inn...hallways were in need of cleaning, furniture was in poor condition, many items in our room (light by bed, door hinge, toilet paper holder) were in need of repair, items needed (bar soap, sheets for the sofa bed) had to be requested, and other items were also missing (silverware, dish soap). It was as if our room had not been cleaned or inspected prior to our arrival! Had we not been tired from a long day of driving, we would have moved out or complained more. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and the made-to-order pancakes in the morning were very good.

The room was fine except the view out of the window was another motel. The breakfast was good.

Upon check in, the light switches were dirty. I had to go and sanitize everything and cloth came back dirty. There was left over garbage in the kitchen from the previous stay. The tv was turned on when we got in there. There was a non working grill that was disgusting. I asked the gentleman who was working at night if there was going to be enough propane for us to use and he said yes. The following night when we went to go use the grill, the grill did not work. It was turned into a charcoal grill that was gross. We were not prepared and did not have charcoal or lighter fluid. The lady working was nice enough to go find us those items. We were over a hour and a half late for our plans for that evening. Breakfast was only served until 9am even on the weekend and was made to order, nice but a huge inconvenience when you had to sit around and wait. The same nice lady who helped us on Saturday afternoon was drinking that night with her group of friends while working!! Her group took up the outside fire pit and we did not feel comfortable to utilize it. Will not be staying here again.

My stay was from Monday to Friday, 4 nights. The breakfast, considering it was complimentary, was great! The room was comfortable enough. Nice layout. Now, the problem...housekeeping. Housekeeping showed up ONE time, for the entirety of my stay. The one and only time, they did show up, they only took my used towels that I had left in the bathroom and left me 2 fresh ones on the bathroom sink, not even replaced on the towel racks. Other than replacing towels, they did not do my bed, throw out the trash, which was full from my 4 night stay, and considering that they had to go into the bathroom to have even replaced the towels, didn't even throw out the bathroom trash. Considering all of the BS plandemic measures, taken nowadays, I would've assumed housekeeping would be the main focus of guest services, at a hotel.

Room was not ready at check in time, cleanliness overall wasn’t that great, room not stocked appropriately with paper products for a lengthy stay. Overall the stay was just ok, not sure that I’d book a return visit to this location. Staff weren’t all that friendly, some were nicer than others, but also lacked in professionalism. Clearly understaffed at times of the day that more help was needed, long wait times at the front desk and unable to reach via room phone on one occasion.

I was transferred to 2 rooms and they both had strong pet odor.

Room is very dirty and service is not available most of the time.
