The Gables

This is our third stay here and we absolutely love it! The property is beautiful, the room is clean and spacious with good facilities. Bed is very comfy. The couple who run and own the B&B are friendly and helpful. We love Porlock so it’s great being in a quiet spot but two minutes walk into the village. Our two dogs were welcome and we enjoyed some lovely walks with them. Breakfast is always very good. We will definitely stay again.

Porlock was lovely! We had a comfortable & quiet stay at The Gables. Louise was friendly & helpful. Breakfast delicious. Floors were squeaky - you get that it old houses - so you can be disturbed by other visitors moving around.

Beautiful character property. Very quaint and quirky.

Good place to stay whilst exploring Exmoor. Plenty of space in the rooms. Easy to find though parking is either in the local Pay & Display or on the road. Located right in the centre of Porlock, where teh best dinner was foud at the Lorna Doone hotel.

An absolute gem in a really lovely village. I'd certainly stay here again. The owners were great. Very friendly and keen to ensure everyone has a good stay. The breakfast was tasty and enough to fuel us up for the day. Cooked breakfast and cereals available. The B&B doesn't have its own parking, but there's a car park next door that is free 6pm-9am, so if you're out for the day then it's not an issue. There's some free parking available further up the street, and further car parks in the village if needed. We didn't struggle to park except for one evening when we returned just around dinner time. But even then we found a space on the road. There are several pubs and restaurants in the village, and the B&B is easy walking distance to them all, being located just off the main street. Room was spacious and clean and WiFi was available. We were out and about most of our time there, but if you wanted to stay around the house for more of the day then that would be possible too. There's a guest lounge provided, and access to a well kept garden.

First B and B stay for us in a long time, so impressed with the Gables - cosy, clean, lovely hosts, charming location.

We only stayed for 2 nights, but this bed and breakfast was perfect, the hosts chris and Louise made us feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. My husband is coeliac , so no gluten,we emailed when we booked and they made sure he had a choice of breakfasts cold and hot.The room was very comfortable and quiet. Would certainly book again.

Es geht nicht besser, Chris und seine Frau sind die perfekten Gastgeber (Hilfsbereitschaft und Nettigkeit sind nicht zu toppen). Für die Unterkunft sprechen die Bilder (Sauberkeit, Lage, Geschmackvolle Inneneinrichtung) für sich. Es findet alles im kleinen gemütlichen und persönlichen Rahmen statt. Wir haben hier zu dritt drei wundervolle Tage verbracht. Ideale Lage, um Ausflüge zu machen (Küste, Dunster, Exmoor und auch weiter).
