Lovely stay but different
We recieved an email stating a 40th Birthday party would be held on the floor below the room we would be staying in however it would finish at 12.30pm, and would we be ok with this. We agreed that we be ok but however the party didnt finsh untill 1am. We did eventually get some sleep...the bed was nice and comfy and the room was clean but were disappointed that we shared a bathroom which wasnt mentioned when we booked it. The staff were all lovely, friendly and meals were first class.

This was so nice about 20 minutes from Durham,Continental Breakfast was great and the Team there are so friendly will return for sure as our niece is at uni for four years,

Very friendly
Great location and easy to find. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was some noise from the bar in the evening and the WiFi connection wasn’t very good in the room that we had. But generally it was very good.

Staying close to Beamish as a family
Having spent the full day in Beamish it was only a short car journey (15-20 mins) and pretty easy to find. On arrival the keys were obtained from the bar which was quite busy and loud but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Check in was simple and we were shown to our room (family room) which consisted of a double bed (2 singles pushed together) a single and bunk beds. A good size and very light and airy. Conscious of the noise from the bar directly below but it was grand national day and maybe a few got lucky. Not sure what was in the area so was hoping the bar would offer some decent fair and that there'd be somewhere to sit. Time to relax - the dining area was separate to the bar and very well presented in a rustic manner. Good variety of food on offer which catered for all 4 of our needs. Very, very nice food and very reasonably priced (£60 for 4 meals, 1 dessert and all our drinks). We didn't venture into the bar (kids out by 9) and was still conscious of the noise but being honest it wasn't that bad and was done and dusted by 11 not that anyone else noticed as they were all asleep so clearly ok. Breakfast was again very nice. I would recommend the hotel change the drinks process at breakfast and allow guests to make their own coffee / tea and juice as that would take the pressure off the server. Only other little issue was the shower wasn't very powerful but the bathroom was modern and well kept. Would recommend this hotel and if we are in the area again would stay here
