Gem in Wanaka
Our stay at the Wanaka Alpine Lodge B&B was wonderful. We only stayed for one night due to a weather-related last minute change of plans that had us cancel another reservation, but it was one of the nicest places we stayed on our trip. Sarah and Ged were very kind and welcoming, and Sarah accommodated our slightly late check-in (after the stated 3-6pm window) without issue. We were greeted with delicious chocolate cookies and a chocolate cake upon arrival, and were treated to a gem of a breakfast in the morning. Breakfast is served anytime from 7:45-9am, which worked well with our travel plans for the next day. Sarah also helped us come up with some plans for our bonus day in Wanaka, which resulted is us doing a great hike we wouldn’t have otherwise done. Highly recommend!

Had we known how great this place is and how lovely the town of Wanaka is, we wouldn't have spent so much time in Queenstown. Sarah and Ged's property offers the privacy of a hotel stay, while maintaining the coziness and friendliness of a BnB. The grounds are beautiful and the fresh breakfast is delicious! The property is a short 10 minute drive to downtown Wanaka. Although we didn't take advantage of it, there are plenty of tour groups that leave from there. Its definitely a must stay for those who want to avoid the tourist-heavy Queenstown.

Ged and Sarah are both lovely hosts and you can tell they have put a lot into making a great accommodation. Sarah's breakfasts are nothing short of A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Each room has its own entrance to come and go as you please with its own parking space. The room is clean and comfortable. It is about a 10 minute drive to Wanaka depending on traffic and there are several hikes nearby.

Loved our stay.
Sarah and Ged take real pride in this B&B. Ground and room are very well maintained. Very clean and comfortable room and bathroom. Homemade Cookies and cake were available on arrival. And Wanaka is a lovely town with good restaurants to choose facing the lake. We would go back!

Brilliant facilities. Bridal suite is stunning. Owners are fantastic. Great for couples or groups. Personally i wouldn't bring small children. Netflix and sky available. We had whole place to ourselves on our stay and had the hot tub to ourselves and fire lit so was very romantic. 3 min drive from wanaka main street. Sarah's breakfast in the morning was sensational with freshly made Danish and eggs Benedict. Would definitely stay again.
