Nicest hotel I have stayed at in the LA area! Great view and accommodations. Great staff!

Gorgeous hotel. Amazing and friendly staff. The room was immaculate with tons of awesome amenities: two televisions, a comfortable bed, a fully stocked bar, as well as snacks. The restroom was large with a luxury style shower. There was a couch and adorable little coffee tables. Sliding glass doors led to a balcony overlooking the marina, complete with a table and chairs to sit at and enjoy the view. Best of all, the balcony had a dilly deluxe bathtub!! Of course, we shut the curtains on the balcony for privacy! Our Deposit was put back into our account the next day as opposed to the 3 to 7 days it takes other hotels to return your money. I can’t say enough good things about the shade hotel.

Great stay!! The tub facing the marina is amazing for those late night soaks! I was surprised there was no microwave in the room, but the front desk was able to bring one up once I called them! 10/10 would definitely stay here again!

This is a very nice hotel, but overpriced. The room was pleasant, but with with a rather dull, colorless, design. Not luxurious! Two TVs in one room, that a bit redundant! The coffee/tea in the room were really bad. The hotel should provide a station in the lobby with REAL coffee and good tea. This is what a resort would do! But the staff at the front desk was very helpful. The jacuzzi was a joke: barely warm water, and then it stopped after a few minutes. We looked for a switch, but could not find one, and no one came to fix it. The restaurant was excellent. The various taxes really hiked the price of the room, but this is not a resort!

They gave us the room for the disabled person and did not have the REGULAR soak in tub. The soap and shampoo bottle was designed where it will only dispense one tiny drop of the sopa then you have to wait for the pump to go up to press it down again to get a SMALL DROP of the soap. I gave up and didn't feel clean as I couldn't get enough sopa to shower with. The bathroom did not had a door which I didn't had a problem with. however some water seep on the floor. I took the towel to wipe down the water. The white towel turned black as the floor was not mopped for almost a month. I know this for fact as I own a janitorial businnes and fully aware of the process. This hotel did not meet the NORMAL regulation for the regular cleaning. My 2 daughters refuse to take a bath in that bathroom. Before I left home I had talk to 2 different people at the hotel facility and requested extra bedding for the sofa bed as there were 3 of us in that room. Absolutely no beddings were provided to us for the 3rd person. My girls used my own sheet for the sofa bed. I spoke to a very nice gentalmen who switched our room next day. The gentleman also told us that he will honor a dinner coupon for the restaurant to compensate there error. When I called next day to request the coupon I was told that the manager will not honor the request. At this time i no longer wanted to deal with them. Due to switching the room we missed our morning activities. 2nd day there was no hot water for the tea.

The staff at the front desk were awful. Horrible customer service. We requested a late checkout but were denied and offered zero solutions to accomodate for us to stay and enjoy the hotel. As we were getting ready to leave, one of the front staff came to the door with the worst attitude and asked if we are leaving. Did not offer to help us out with bags or ask how our stay was. She saw that we were grabbing our stuff, scowled and turned around to go back to the front desk. Did not even hold the elevator for us. When we checked out, I didn't get any review of expenses. She just looked at me and said, "Did you need anything else?" I thought was odd. I have always signed a hotel cost breakdown. Hours later when I received the emailed bill, they added on a $50 late departure fee. I called to speak to a manager and the same front staff that added the fee would not transfer me to a manager and said that since we only left a half hour late she would reduce the fee to $25. I again asked for a manager. She placed me on hold and then came back on and finally agreed to reverse the charge. We cherish our little one night getaways to reconnect. The last thing we need is to be treated like this. Unfortunately, we will never return to Shade Hotel.

Bed was comfy. Shower refreshing & great for tall person. Balcony with tub was cute - but with no curtain for privacy = didn’t use. Main point of staying, so that was annoying. Didnt notice until next morning, when I was already unpacked. Silver exclusive given one small glass of champagne/wine? Not a full bottle as advertised when I went back to check. Parking = $20 for overnight + $6 for day (should note that & that’s during a slow time, probably more in summer). Plus typical tourist additional taxes & fees added over $100 to final total. No temp check when I came in. Can hear people stomping above you & neighbors next door. Overall - If I save up enough money & being able to travel to other countries is still closed (cost the price of a flight), then....I would stay again for location, pack a bathing suit next time for the tub & ask for 3rd floor suite. The other hotel I was looking at nearby has way too many tourists around it - so this one is quieter.
