Posada Ingapirca

Beautiful old farm house. Only complaint was the lack of a hot shower. Staff was very very nice.

This is a very special place, wonderfully quiet and in a lovely location with views over Ingapirca ruins. Great breakfast, great service - I’d have loved to have tome to stay longer !

Le cadre est magnifique, notamment au coucher du soleil. Les jardins sont très bien entretenus et très agréables. La chambre (la 15) était spacieuse, avec une cheminée et vue directe sur les lamas... Une belle salle de bain avec baignoire complète l'ensemble. Cependant, le mobilier daté est constitué de lits peu confortables, avec des draps éponges peu agréables. Les autres points négatifs concernent la restauration qui est chère et tout juste passable, et le manque de professionnalisme de l'ensemble du personnel, bien que très sympathique et volontaire. Dernier point : bien vérifier la note à la fin du séjour, car il n'est donné aucun détail des consommations prises au restaurant, et les taxes pour l'habitation ont été comptabilisées 2 fois... Je ne suis pas certain que cela ait été involontaire...

This visit began inauspiciously, as we were asked on arrival if we had reservations, which we did, but the hotel had no record of them. Once I showed them the e-mail confirmation of my reservation, however, all was wonderful, although I wonder if it would have been the case had the hotel ben fully booked rather than mostly empty, as it was during our stay. The rooms (9 and 14) were large, well appointed and even had fireplaces, although we did not use them. The bed mattresses were a bit on the firm side, but fitted with flannel sheets and heavy blankets, plus with space heaters in the room, so we were perfectly comfortable even though the outdoor temperature dropped fairly low at night. The restaurant was lovely, with a fire lit in that fireplace, and the food was delicious, especially the local trout. The wine was over-priced, so we passed on that, but we were provided with a free aperatif before dinner, which was most welcome. Breakfast was very nice and the manager who checked us out was meticulous in detailing our bill. Make sure you verify if your reservation price includes taxes and fees, because if not it will cost you an extra 22% at this location. Happily, I was able to provide evidence that my reservation price did include these taxes. The location cannot be beat if you plan to visit the Ingapirca ruins, as they are 500 m from the hotel. This allowed us to get in and have a private guided tour of the ruins well before the tour buses from Cuenca began arriving.

Me gustó la historia del establecimiento y la iniciativa de a la casa de hacienda hacerla hospedaje. No me gustó la falta de mantenimiento en las areas lúdicas exteriores.

J'ai TOUT apprécié de cette auberge! Ce fut le coup de coeur de mon voyage de 3 semaines en Ecuador. Profitez du hamac qui se cache sous la cabane perchée pour les enfants. Couché confortablement, on peut y contempler non seulement une partie du site archéologique inca qui se trouve en contre-bas, mais également toute la vie paysane qui se déroule dans la vallée et à flanc de montagne, vers le Nord. Sans oublier les animaux de la basse-cour (et les 3 lamas) tout près!!!

Beautiful old colonial hotel in an idylic setting. The staff were excellent but the lovely couple who ran the hotel were alone running trying to do everything....fix the internet, clean the rooms, cook and serve food, attend customers. They did not have our reservation which was made a month earlier so had to make phone calls and juggle things to get us rooms which were not the same ones we asked for. There were no amenities... soap or shampoo in the room. The internet was terrible....none most of the time. Food was mediocre and way overpriced.
