Very nice!
Everything was great except ability to control air conditioner in room. It seemed to have a mind of its own and room was sometimes too cold.

Not the star rating it was been given.
Be careful if you get a room on the 10th floor. I could hear the bar music from 8:00am to 12:00 midnight. People were smoking in the hall way or in the stair well. Could smell smoke in hall way. Noticed a big water leak in the ceiling above the bed.

Great hotel in a really cool area.
We loved this place, it's a very short walk to the metro and also the monorail. The room provided all you could need. It was modern, clean, had good WiFi, a good selection for breakfast including pancakes and French toast made to order. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The pool is also nice and offers some lovely cityscape views (though not really of the Patronus Towers or KL tower). They also give welcome drink vouchers which was a nice touch (albeit non alcoholic). Only negative, the lift on the right had some technical issues when we were there, it failed when I was in it on several occasions... It stopped between floors and doors failed to open a few times. The staff came to my rescue quickly though and the left hand lift works fine. We didn't hear any noise from the street from our room, I saw other reviews comment this as a problem (we were on 7th floor).

Poor house keeping, slimy shower, dirty towels
The first room I was given had two beds that were so old, the sharp wood laminates were sticking out and cut my 5 year old son when he climbed up. I complained to the manager and she gave me a new room with free size upgrade. In the new room, I slipped on the dark tiled shower floor. Touching it, I discovered there was literally a thick layer of yellowish pinkish scum. I called the manager to the room she saw with her own eyes the jelly-like slime that would cling to my finger when I ran it across the floor. She quickly summoned the cleaners to scrub it clean and offered me a free dinner at the hotel. I returned to my room to finish my shower but realised every single towel is old and shredded and stained at random areas. I looked at the bed sheets and even the pillow cases had holes. I’ve stayed at motels in 3rd world countries and even they gave new towels and new sheets. I’m absolutely appalled that the KL Journal has such low standards of house keeping. It was clear that cleanliness and hygiene is not a priority here and decided to forgo the free dinner offered to me. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with children. Heck... I would not even recommend it to anyone at all. The facilities look new but at its core, it’s poorly maintained and old. I was pointless to complain any more to the manager. Even on the 2nd day when they changed the towels, I got a new set of old, shredded and stained ones. Please refer to my photos
