This was the best accommodation we stayrd in for our Hadeians Wall walk. Extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be visiting here again soon.

Excellent accommodation, lovely room, everything clean,great breakfast. We had an evening meal, which was really lovely. The day we stayed there was a large family party, which had a knock on effect on how busy the staff were, so not very attentive during our meal, but it was a small moan. A great place to stay in a fantastic area, we had a great time.

We were so thrilled to arrive at this oasis of comfort, food and drink after a very challenging 15 mile day of ups and downs on the Hadrian's Wall Walk. We were very grateful that the staff let us place our order for dinner and order packed lunches for the next day as the kitchen was closing soon after we arrived. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be back!

The room was small and in need of tlc. The hot tap was not secured to the sink and moved when turned on and off. The inn was dog friendly, and the room had a damp dog smell which wasn't very nice.

Ideal for Hadrian's Wall visitors.
Spotlessly clean, everything you need provided in the room, and kettle, drinks etc. Lots of choice for breakfast. Interesting ales to sample in the evening. Very popular place, deservedly so.

If you are interested in exploring Hadrian's Wall this is an excellent location. You can walk from the front door to the wall in about 15 minutes and then you are on one of the most scenic stretches. It's also only 5 minutes drive from Vinolandia fort and museum. The Inn's rooms are simple but recently refurbished and very clean. The staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. The Inn brews its own first class real ale and the restaurant does classic pub grub (steak pie, scampi) very well indeed.

Nothing was too much trouble from the very friendly staff. They sorted out my vegetarian meals as they were only two choices on the menu and we stayed for five nights. They had a micro brewery attached and local gin, all very delicious. You would not go hungry at this establishment.
